    Hey man. Thanks for the tip to slide the lead part all the way in and then tip the part in your hands back. I had to do it a few times, as it was a pretty bad clog, but it's all good now, plus no scratches on the inside of the bowl. Very good presentation skills! Thumbs-up for you!

    Nice instructive video man, I have the Ridgid 6' Auger i just bought and for some reason mine will not go more than a foot into the toilet drain, it seems like it's hitting something on the inside, and at one point it even double-backed and started to come back out the drain as i'm turning the crank and pushing down. I think the design of the Auger head is catching on things. I'm stuck...

    • @autumnlegend287

      @@ThePlumbingGurus I'm doing that today, I think the design of the toilet prevents augers from being inserted into the bowl drain. Cheap POS Home Depot brand toilet (Glacier Bay)

    • @ThePlumbingGurus

      Sometimes it takes a bit of work to push the snake through the toilet. And yes those are not good toilets.

    • @autumnlegend287
      @autumnlegend287 3 года назад

      @@ThePlumbingGurus yes i'm aware of the effort it could take but this toilet doesn't have an actual opening that's large enough to fit the cable through, I tried to handfeed it through with gloves on and it's hitting against the porcelain at a certain point and there's no "opening", it's weird. And previously when i thought it was going in about 1', it was actually just coiling up in the area where stoppage is and eventually started coming back out where i inserted it. I been looking online everywhere on what kinda toilet bowl drain it is or the design and there' s no info anywhere

    BULL when you say that you can get another 3 feet by just pushing in the button. Even when you push in the button and start pulling out, the button does not appear in the lower hole. Why did I waste my time and money on this piece of crap. I’ll call the plumber tomorrow.

    Yesterday started with one toilet at bottom was leaking so replace wax ring . Noticed toilet right in the next room was clogged I've tried plunger but it's bigger problem since looks like crap coming up in that next room's shower drain . I know you don't know how my lines are running this way or that but what can you tell me ? Seems next step is auguer / snake it but not sure where to enter . Have one cleanout I might use but it's way in the backyard ..

    Seems my obstruction is way further down the line and this small auger won’t do it. I say it’s further away because now crap is coming up from next restroom’s shower drain. What can I use in small cramped restroom that’s sure to reach obstruction?

      Hi
      Your best bet is to either rent a 3” drain cleaner or hire someone to drain clean it for you.
      You are best to clean the drain through the toilet.

    Great instructional video! Special thanks for covering 'real' secrets of how to use pressure correctly, and how to let the tool work vs. brute forcing it. People are already likely in a 'pissy' mood having to snake a drain (pardon the pun there). The temptation to just power it through is pretty natural. LOL.
