My family used to travel on Delta Airlines to visit family in Alabama. As a kid, I loved the L-1011 in Delta Airlines colors. Now as a 53 year old adult, I still love the L-1011 in Delta Airlines colors. There is no other aircraft in the world that is more interesting, more fascinating and more beautiful than the Lockheed L-1011 Tri-star. I absolutely love that aircraft.
...and it was so damn advanced.
It had to be Lockheed.
Me scrolling around RUclips and I watched this again as my part of my childhood 🧡
Around 1987, FLL-JFK.
Quiet & comfortable.
TriStar & Caravelle, my favorite commercial jets of all time.
I really enjoyed flooring on the l-1011 I always heading good flight on the plane wish it was still flying with Delta and enjoyed the good service
Yup i also wish it was still flying with Delta :(
S̶c̶a̸r̸i̷n̵g̵C̶rab 879 Same here. I was on one with my family back in 94 from Dallas Ft Worth to Orlando.
Ron Goforth I flew these planes out to CA with delta in the spring of 2000. Wonder why they stoped using them other then age?
Think of all passengers she served in its career. This is my generation and before of plane, this DC-10 & B747 under Delta. The best scheme put on Delta.
I flew on one from DFW, Texas to Tampa, Florida in Dec 1983. Beautiful aircraft especially in this livery which this is the only livery this aircraft wore when flown with Delta Air Lines needless to say.
N751DA to N753DA- the three L-1011-500s that Delta recieved new from Lockheed.
Can you please do another l1011 video or a delta airlines history video thanks I love your channel!!😊
The most beautiful plane ever was the delta 1011 tristar. I am 45 and have a toy one.
Bummer that no one decided to convert to freight like the DC 10. I used to watch for the 6:30pm arrival from Dallas to San Diego in the early 1980's. San Diego still had an Atlanta nonstop 1011 in 2001.
back then 747s DC-10s DC-8's DC-9's L1011's and MD-11's are everywhere
yes
I was lucky enough to fly on one of these amazing aircraft the last year of operation in 2001 front ATL to Orlando Fl
xOpiee I wish L1011 was still in service
In 1985 Delta was flight 191
I don't understand why this plane is not in their museum in Atlanta.
I love this video have you ever considered doing a delta history video?
Good video
The L1011 was much safer and more reliable than it's competitor, the DC10.
1:40 Delta 191😂
Yep
rip
Why are u laughing people died
Close to 700!
Yup! :D
Now at 4k
Delta's old livery is much better
Ikr
Круто!!!
What program did you use to create this vid? i just feel like making a video exactly like this on the Air Canada 747-400
Windows Movie Maker :)
S̶c̶a̸r̸i̷n̵g̵C̶rab 879 Thanks for letting me know! :)
Hey crab i made my first aviation fleet history vid: ruclips.net/video/BNWWyXxxSFc/видео.html and the quality is bad so i do apologize!
Except for the Stars and Stripes logo of 1976,the livery of Delta’s L1011 didn’t change much
They had to use the MD-11 longer just 2 Years longer than the 20 Years older Tristar.
So sad these planes don't exist anymore
1:39 191
Do Northwest 747-200
Electro light?
From all these years, how come Delta's Tristars only used the Widget Livery? And also, 2001 was the year I was born!
I was born at the same time when Windows XP got released for PCs 😂.
Unbelieveable.
David, I think is that Delta introduced the 2 new liveries but was having few units so not to paint them to lose money as painting requires some cash.
Is it done KLM DC-10? My request?
Gonna be up tomorrow :)
Ok, I hope this will works
Plss history of Philippine airline fleet history thank channel
Tui up tuip
Pan am 747 year:1988
wait were there some l 1011 with only 6 doors?
mading wang yeah, that an 500 variant
That is the L-1011-500, the extended range version of the aircraft. It had a longer range, had fewer seats, and was used primarily on international routes. You can easily spot one, not just counting the exit doors, but just below the vertical stabilizer engine (#2), you'll notice a "slat" extending from just under the engine to the top of the fuselage. It's a dead-giveaway.
They flew this one 28 Years and the much better MD-11 just little 13 Years from December 1990 until 01.01.04😭🙄
Where's the crash of the tristar
Its at 1:39 Fun Fact: This particular photo of N726DA was taken almost two months prior to its demise outside DFW.
