As someone who grew up in Toronto right near one of the largest (the largest??) Italian expat populations in the world (yay Dufferin Street!!), I can totally relate to hearing someone sound like a local, and then launch into an Italian diatribe like only Italians can do!!

I love how she comes back to chivvy them into eating the untouched dishes. So a mom thing
trust me, after 4 year of eating in MamaPapa Trattorias in Naples, that is DEFINITELY a thing. Also, not as common in many places because they will only serve one course at a time and/or take a good while doing it, knowing that eating too fast a) isnt good for digestion, and b) it doesnt allow proper appreciation for each dish.
I was laughing out loud when Ollie was giving a rundown of the history of modern Italy - that was me with my friends, well that was me if I’m not controlling myself, which I do try to do! :D

That usually my sister, she would give a rundown of the history or when it come to food making or stuff she tell like how it's made, and then sometimes would want to pass a video of it, which normally me and my other siblings would say nah, because we won't watch it really, more so when she already said it...

I laughed so hard Ollie used “prego” (you’re welcome) instead of “grazie” (thank you). It reminded me of the time my college roommate & I were on a bus in Rome, and as we were walking to the front to exit, she start smiling & waving like a pageant contestant saying, “ragu! ragu!” Meanwhile, I’m laughing so hard I can barely get off the bus & she looks as me like “what’s your problem?!” When I could finally talk, I said: “you just told a bus full of Italians ‘red meat sauce!’ while smiling & waving like a lunatic.”Turns out, she couldn’t remember the word for ‘thank you,’ thought it was the same as a brand of jarred spaghetti sauce (Prego or Ragu), figured she had 50/50 shot of being right, & went with Ragu. 😂😂😂😂

Ollie just acts like an idiot for laughs but he's actually quite knowledgeable and intelligent about a lot of things. Every now and then he goes on tangents on Jolly and it's very fascinating to hear.
Plus I don't think Italian history is very well known outside of Italy, and everything he said was right, so props to him lol

The lady is hilarious, the place is so welcoming. It's the kinda place on my top list to go-to when in London.
Visited back in June for the first time, and Nevio, Jr. treated us like longtime friends. We even got to see the Banana Man who wandered into the restaurant yelling while waving a single banana. Nevio told us that he was actually glad to see the Banana Man because he’s not been around for a while, and he was worried about him. The food was just like in the video, and we were sent off with some of his mum’s bread pudding.

As someone that has social anxiety I don't know if I could ever visit that restaurant, but the food looks really good!

ignore the stupid comment saying to grow out of it. Thankfully, places like these know how to make you feel at home. Even if your social anxiety can be crippling, I hope you can try to love a place like this one day. The owners are really fantastic
As someone with social anxiety, I agree "grow out of it" is beyond meaningless and disconnected, but also that you can and should push yourself to be more comfortable in the situations you just told me you know would be relatively approachable. You see how a server like that awesome woman approaches patrons. You can go there knowing what to expect. Such an opportunity for relatively unjudged socialization is worth taking advantage of.
Take that kind of analysis and apply it to other circumstances in your life. Don't define your identity by victimhood. Build your own strength to support yourself. Make yourself comfortable. That's the only solution to social anxiety
Ollie has once again made me laugh so hard my stomach is practically hurting. He is so cute and funny. He reminds me of some of my students. Ollie being "weird" and "an idiot" is why this channel is so successful. Keep it up Ollie, don't change. The history lesson on Italian history and the exchange between him and the lady. Too funny! So very entertaining.

I’ve been there almost 3 years ago before knowing this channel. I went as an exchange student and had my first meal in the UK in this particular restaurant. Still impressed by it
I've been to this place and got the full breakfast. I had to lie down in the park afterwards, but it was absolutely worth it.
