That Tawnos deck felt so incredibly underpowered. That commander did almost nothing by itself and needed Tithe to do something. Any other esper commander would have done more.
If he didnt get swan songed he could’ve fetched something like esper sentinel that when died can be reanimated and copied several times. But he didnt keep a hand that actually do something.
I think Tivit fills a similar niche to Tawnos and likely would be the commander for a similar deck, but Tivit can completely beast down the table on his own if you power him out too early
After reading the Tawnos decklist, I don't understand the wincon? It looks like a Tivit deck, and it even has Tivit in it. But there aren't any game winning combos in the deck itself to win. Am I missing something obvious?
I’d need to see the Tawnos list to make any meaningful statements on it. It certainly underwhelmed me when I first saw the creature in the Brother’s War precons. Was it just for testing, or are there particular lines that are exciting with him? Having now looked at the decklist, I remain confused. Is he just like a minor recursion engine?
Wait, can somebody take me through how the Mount Doom Loop worked? I don't understand how he was getting it back from the yard after activating every time?
I don't understand why they put themselves down so low - maybe they expected to be able to combo off and win on the spot from the necro cards? passing with Blind Obedience and flying creatures on the board at that life total just seemed like an obvious game loss
It's not dissimilar to going that low with an ad nauseam. Zur is built to win the game at instant speed, so when you effectively draw 25 on your end step your odds are pretty good of being able to cobble a win together through 1-2 pieces of interaction/stax from the table
It's actually a good question. Drake was looking to win right then and there. That's how Zur wins. He Necros for a bunch, then basically has the equivalent to an ad nauseam at the end step. Unfortunately, just like with Ad Naus, it doesn't always work out.
Y'all keep playing lotho as a cEDH commander... Hate to break it to ya, but he just isn't as good as other commanders, but he's an AMAZING card in the 99!
When i started watching this channel i thought y'all were amazing players, now that I've spent a lot of time practicing cedh and vintage, your kinda bad, or at least I've gotten good enough that i see the misplays

Are you guys not doing the podcast anymore?
@@LukeSkywalker-pg9kiThe podcast is on an indefinite hiatus. We are considering bringing it back early next year.
cEDH can be weird. Winning by incredible combos Check. Winning by activating a land that stings the table to death....also check.

I do like trying less meta cEDH commanders especially against each other to see if any of them are competitive
Wow a mount doom win. That’s pretty sweet. I don’t think I’ve seen that before. I do have to appreciate how drake trying to win on his end step
Love zebs lotho deck dueled against him and it in Columbus.
I think Lavania was the MVP she kept alot of powerful cards from actully hitting the board through citadel

I was hopping to see some Tawnos performance, but there's little. Will there be more videos from Matt?
Good match. Love that "bird" token lol. might have to steal that.
I still find it uncanny how Tawnos was illustrated. After looking at that art, everything else post '17 looks AI generated
more Lotho games plz, deck looks sweet
:)

Are you aware that the decklists are linked in the description?
@@ianhancock9045 I was not. To the description!
@@Omnicloud7strife Glad to be of service!

The second ability doesn’t sacrifice Mount Doom. Only the third.
Lotho made 6 treasures this game.
Wouldn't TK have won in the setup turn, if he just got derevi, untap Elder, get Emiel and then cradle loop derevi?
Mount doom win is wild
Is TK’s Sisay deck built as a stax deck?
Zur ❤
Is this the same Sisay deck that was played on I Hate Your Deck a few weeks ago?
Don't know.
I love to see people losing to their own Necropotence greed... 😛

Real
Yeah he’s insane but defo not as the commander
Love that lotho deck
Turn 1 usea over tarnished citadel has me surprised.
Should have said T.K.O. When TK won
Aminatou, why lot of time i hear Animatou?
did I miss something? how he play that arcane signet with just the hallowed fountain?
Edit: it was the lotus petal. Thanks
mox
That untapped one?
Lotus petal
@@thrakerzod5699ah. I see it moved to the left now. Thanks
Can you guys try jarad, golgari lich lord lol😅
now i know why mount doom had spiked in price
Poor zur
honestly you should have been able to win that turn with sisay instead of another go around.
First !
TK got some delicious looking fingers there, little burnt sausages

The amount of content you are pushing in these days is draining, I think you need a new voice over, this just sounds like mumble rap these days
