I recommend aiming at the right post or the left post of the goalkeeper rather than directly at the goalkeeper. This increases your chances of scoring top bin long shots.
To add, always try to aim far post than near post (aim left post if your player is on the right side of the pitch and vice versa).
@@Mehdi_FC Thanks a lot! One last question. If you are outside the box do you still try to use Powershot over Trivela and finesse? I know powershot is better long distance but how about near the edge of the box say 20 to 25 yards?
@@RazorEdge011 Powershots are only effective when you don't have defenders blocking your way.
Powershots, trivelas and finesse shots are all effective near the edge of the box. It just depends on the situation.👍

Yes, you have to hold down L1 + R1 + shoot button to attempt a power shot.

Hey Vamp! Mid Zambrotta is amazing but he is not the most meta left back mainly due to his lack of pace.
I still highly recommend him because he is very solid and he is excellent when it comes down to defending.
However, I still think that Theo Hernandez is probably still better🤔
Have you thought about completing the Spinazzola flashback sbc? He fits straight into your team.

Don't worry about timed finishing. You can score long shots even without using timed finishing.
However, timed finishing helps a lot.
Usually green timed long shots result in better animations and they tend to have better dips👍

This question might be irrelevant to this video but i just wanted to know what is the shot called when you player leans back and shoots, its hard to explain but i always seem to get the shot when im under pressure or when i get a first time shot, just wanted to know how to consistently do it cuz it looks clean 😂
There 5 type of shots on FIFA:
Normal shots
Power shots
Finesse shots
Trivela shots (outside foot)
Flair shots
Usually players lean back and shoot when attempting the power shot (L1+R1+shoot button)
Players can also lean back and shoot when attempting a normal shot, but this varies from player to player.
Certain players have their own shooting animations like Haaland for example.
In real life football, Haaland is very known for leaning back before shooting. Therefore, EA gave him his own shooting animation.

Are you saying for the old pattern of pad function it will be L1,R1, square and direction?
If you sprint with R2 then yes.
But if you sprint with R1 (like me) then it will be: L1, R2, square and direction.

how to know if a player is good at long shots? whats certain skills/stats should I look for? + In PES and Efootball 23 there's a command called knock-on unlike the fifa knock on the pes one is a short knock on that prepares for a more accurate and fast shots that are harder for the keepers to save it makes it impossible for a keeper to save it without having to at least rebound it, is the a similar move in fifa that I can use?
Yes, power shots on fifa are very similar to knock-ons on pes. On fifa, power shots are more powerful and accurate than normal shots but the animation takes longer.
To attempt a power shot, hold L1 + R1 and hold the shoot button.
Also, make sure to keep aiming towards the target when attempting the shot.
Players that have high long shot and shot power statistics are better for taking long shots. To add, there are some players that have the long shot taker trait but it's irrelevant in my opinion.
High shot power and high long shot stats is what matters.

You get that after scoring a distant power shot.
Therefore, don't skip the goal replay.

For long shots, I always recommend to go full power (4 bars). The max power is 4 bars and not 5 bars.
You don't really have to control the bars of power you have to put.
Freekicks on the other hand are harder than long shots because you have to control how many bars of power you have to put behind the shot.
Longshots are way easier, just go full power and you will score most of the time👍

Hey Mike, if you sprint with R1 and shoot with square (just like me), you power shot buttons are L1 + R2👍
Hold L1 + R2 and hold the square button for crazy long shots. Don't forget to keep aiming towards the goal.

They still work from time to time but I don't really recommend them.
In my opinion, power shots are way more consistent than trivelas and finesse shots at the moment👍
I use r1 to run and ⬛ to shoot . So aw do I do it ?
If you use R1 and square to shoot (just like me), then hold L1 + R2 and hold square to take crazy long shots.
I also want to mention that you have to keep aiming towards the goal when holding your buttons or else the ball will go out of target.

Hey David, shooting animations can vary from player to player.
Players that have high long shot and shot power stats give the sickest long shot animations.😅
Also, try to put more power behind the shot. That would also help👍
