To perform 5-star skills, you need a player with 5-star skill moves. Players with 4-star skills or lower cannot execute 5-star skills. The Golden Trickster Playstyle enables players with this playstyle to perform unique moves (mainly flicks) that look super cool. It's important to note that 5-star skill moves and Trickster skill moves are two different things. If you want to perform Trickster skill moves, you need the Trickster Playstyle. For example, a player with 5-star skills but without the Trickster Playstyle cannot perform Trickster skill moves. It doesn't matter if the player has the trivela playstyle or not. Just make sure the player has at least the basic flair playstyle. Also, don't use too much power. The rabona cross only works with one bar of power (press the cross button once, don't hold it).

It's because you're not putting enough power behind the shot. Fancy shots require just one bar of power, while trivelas need at least two bars.

This is not a step over, it's 'step over ball', a new skill move introduced in FC 25. 'berbatov spin' and 'step over ball' are two different skill moves
