If I were Gege, I'd have had Kenjaku stab Gojo in the back just as he was about to kill Sukuna. Then either Gojo could have taken Kenjaku down with him and left Sukuna as the final boss, or Kenjaku could have won and extracted Sukuna from Megumi to control him using cursed spirit manipulation.
