@@afolabiblessing5970 Your analysis is very spot on. Unfortunately, Okocha lost possession more than half of the time he tried dribbling. The art of bribbling is useful when defenders close in on you and you have no avenue to pass the ball. Check Ronaldinho's game, the man simply knew when to hold on to the ball, when to pass and when to showboat. That's what I call efficiency

His techniques are ridiculous. Passing, first touch, ability to change direction randomly and at varying speed, even long range shooting. He's got everything
I'd agree apart from his passing. I think while his passing could be accurate he often picks the wrong pass and even in this game he put alot of his team mates in needlessly tricky situations. The chipped pass over a defender put his own player in a position were he could only run down the wing. Predictable play made by the wrong pass. I still loved watching him play just I really think he could have made more use of his talent by picking a pass at the right time. It's a skill and takes time to develop but he had all day on the ball in which to develop it. If he had of he could have been so much more effective. But alas not to be.
It's not that.. Okocha can play very serious if he wants.. but he can also be fun with the ball.. then african players were not very much rated. If Okocha was a Brazilian, he would have been nominated for uefa player of the year every year and he would have played for barca or Madrid. He was that good.. but he played with mostly average players through out his football career
@@okaformaxwell1388 I disagree, im not saying he didn't play seriously. I think he did. But he didn't play for big clubs because he simply wasn't effective enough. As I have already said his play was more about making a fool of a player than to actually win. This does not make a great player. Zidane was a player who could influence a game by sheer control but he knew how to pass. Okocha did not and that's a big difference. Nothing to do with being serious. Okocha didn't understand that his game was limited. Had he known he may have improved.
@@robertpirsig5011 you are so good bro.
Okocha was super, but the time spent on the ball was shocking.
Think of Drogba, he was never good at all.
But since he realized his weakness, we all know what he always came up with even at last minute of the game, Didier Drogba.
@@okaformaxwell1388 no bro, that "if" is what makes us even weakest.
Okocha had one great mistake, "his time on the ball" wasn't favorable for a team willing to win.
Count all the misses after everyone of his good passing.
You could read the disappointment not becauseother players didn'tmanage the passes, but for me "it'sthe time the pass was released".
I played football number one advice the coach insisted us to only "joke the ball unless you are secure" meaning when you are winning.
You hit the nail right on the head. The truth that many of his fans do not accept. Skills accompanied by drive and thrust forward to win and produce results. That's Ronaldinho for you.
Would have loved to have seen him at a top four EPL club for a few seasons.
Man of the match
His team lost 4-0😆
@@joshuamusau8601 not problem i like magical players
Nice one jay jay
Wow the video is nice
If he was not African, he would have been rated in the top 10 greatest footballers of all time. Period. We all know what’s up!
Nice football
He was very nice and got cheered by both teams
Okocha didn't score much goals in his career. But he was exceptional.
He's one of the players who were legendary but luck wasn't on their sides in terms of achievements (both individual and team) and playing for big clubs. Jay Jay is African most skillful player ever. Of course Abedi is the favorite when compared to Okocha even with just the playing of the ball but when it comes to showboating, I mean freestyling on the professional pitch, Jay Jay Okocha is a god.
