I'm going to keep this positive. I've been going to Maiden concerts for decades now and I can say that everyone at a Maiden concert is like extended family. You can walk up to a total stranger and talk about anything and automatically you are like long lost brothers. Maiden is a a class act all the way, and I don't see it as a bad thing that people find comradery in their music.
Jeremiah Wilson that's what I'm saying! Most people have no clue what it takes to be Steve Harris. Think it's easy to get up there under those hot lights and play like that for hours? It's gruelling, punishing work. It's pretty amazing they can still pull it off after all these years!
People are whining about not understanding what Steve is saying. I understand pretty much everything and I'm a bloody FINN! Accents, people: listen to different accents as much as you can and multiple doors will open, I tell you.
StartabandRoxy: Sadly, I have not been able to see them before. Every time I wanted to get tickets, they were sold out or I wasn't going to be home when Maiden passed through the NY City area. Thank God, I will be seeing them this year. Afterwards I will have seen almost every one of my favorite bands. I still need to see Rammstein, Tool, A perfect Circle and Megadeth.
AMEN!!! IT'S ONLY BEEN SINCE 1969! lol! you'd think after all the bands that credit them as major influences, like, Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Judas Priest I mean come on already! JP and Maiden for R&R HOF 2018!!!!
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has never been cool and never will either. If you're in a metal band, you can forget it. If you're Bruce fucking Springsteen, they'll kiss every inch of your fat, pimply ass. There's nothing "rock and roll" about that lame shit. I think it's an insult. It's a total fucking joke and I wouldn't waste my time.
Saw Maiden the other night at the 02 and it was a privilege to say I've got to see them! Hoping they tour again with another album in the future so I can say I got to see them again!
Just saw them last night in Charlotte, NC. Great show. I could care less what band member did what or who's in a pissing contest about that. The older I get the more I want to try to catch some of these bands from my youth. Nobody lives forever.
JESTER`S QUEST They all are, aren't they!?!?.......The kind of guys that'll give you an out of body experience at one of their shows, and then have a nice quiet chat over a few beers at the pub. They're not too much older than me, but I remember as a kid, when living in Chicago, Number of the Beast came out. LIFE CHANGING!!!
ab3f4s Is your question directed at me? If so, I'll explain. Dickinson is an egotistical arsehole. You maybe have not seen him in interviews, but from what he says he has a chip on his shoulder. This is an English phrase which means that he's arrogant and has a big ego equivalent to his short stature (most short men have). To tell you a story about Dickinson, when Metallica played at Glastonbury festival a couple of years ago he was asked if he could imagine Iron Maiden ever playing at Glastonbury. Dickinson replied that the festival is too middle-class for Maiden to ever play there. He clearly never considered that he's a millionaire! Also, he once said that when he saw Maiden with Paul Di Anno he thought 'I'm sure I can sing better than that'. The truth is that Dickinson may well be better technically than Di Anno but he lacks the charisma that Di Anno had and, to be fair, Iron Maiden have gone down drastically quality-wise since Dickinson joined them, in the sense that they've lost that grit and underground quality which was present in their first two albums. All their die-hard fans will tell you that from 'The Number of the Beast' onwards Maiden lost their oomph, in favour of a more commercial direction. Correct me if I'm wrong.
pteeng1 There is a small percentage of fans who are Dianno diehards but the vast, vast majority of fans see Bruce as THE singer of the band. There's a reason they catapulted in album sales and tour dates when Bruce joined as well as when he rejoined.
Take what Steve says about retiring with a pinch of salt. I remember back in '81 (not sure if it was Kerrang or Sounds magazine), where he was asked about Di'Anno's future with the band and Steve denied flat out that there were issues, ironically in that very same issue on the 'Breaking News' pages it was announced that Di'Anno was out of the band ;)
I consider them part of early metal because they influenced the likes of Metallica, Queensryche, Megadeth, etc. Also, despite having more of a rock sound, they do definitely have some heavy tracks.
Scorpions just did a 50th anniversary tour. Alice Cooper has been around for over 40 years. Pentagram and Kiss as well. There's plenty of metal bands from the 70s that are still around and touring
Definitly YES they should have been in the rock n roll hall of fame. Years ago. Main stream rock music hates metal and it probably wont happen. They Qualify as being one of only 3 of the original metal Bands besides Judas Priest and Black Sabbath. Rock On Maiden.
Bruce's voice. He might not be able to hit some of those notes. Plus coming back from throat cancer isn't easy. They might do it on the next tour though...
they have 100 great songs you can't possibly hear every song you like. Besides they played it on one of the throw back tours with the whole Churchill speech in the beginning. Then did 75% of the LIVE AFTER DEATH TOUR with a couple mixed in. And OH yeah ... the new album has a great opening song If Eternity should fail They put a fast one on every album/cd listen to that new album if its in your blood it'll catch you and get your heart pumping.
in these interviews you realise they are human and they get old like all humans. Immortality will await you Maiden. One day I will die, you will die phisically. But forever into history.

The man is so natural and humble. All those little pricks should take a leaf out of Mr Harris's book !
These people don't really retire. I mean... Maybe when they're proper old, when they just can't deal with it anymore. - Deep Purple is only about to retire soon, because they're just about done. - But I mean to say; Often playing music is all they do, with exceptions like Bruce Dickinson, they wouldn't know how else to spend their time but do hobbies like football and golf... But that's not what you live for, is it.
really? is that what Steve says in the interview? I didn't see the video yet, but I don't understand English very well, I would really appreciate if you could tell me a little about what he talked about (specially the part of ''retirement'' which scared me as fuck when I read it) lol
Di'Anno sacked himself. He admitted that his fondness for Columbia's finest was affecting his performances. Pity, cos nobody does Running Free as well as Di'Anno did.
Steve is amazing, his vision for this band, his drive. Without Steve, Iron Maiden wouldn't be. He's the core of it all.
Thank God for Steve Harris
Thank God for Iron Maiden
Mike Paganelli A-Maid-en
Yes
He is so nice and humble -All the Maiden guys are! :)
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame doesn't deserve Iron Maiden....... they are in a league of their own
itkojecockot Totally agree. You can't put Maiden in the same box as some of the jokes they have inducted. That would be a slap in the face.
They induct NWA but not Maiden... absolute fucking morons.
Rock and roll Hall of Fame probably induct Justin Bieber before Maiden. Yeah they are a joke.
TOO RIGHT (hall of fame) FUCK EM !
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a joke..Iron Maiden is no joke. I’ve seen a lot of bands but none compare to Maiden🤘🤘.
After 40 years of gigging with the same band Steve looks as excited a ever. That's pretty bloody special. Up the 'Arris!
Jack Lumber You realise that’s translates as Up the Arse? 😂
Never retire! I've been listening since I was 6 years old and now I'm 42. Maiden retiring would be devastating.
My sentiments exactly! From another 42 year old :)
Though I started listening to them considerably later than you did.
bsnowify i'm 42 too and i don't really give a fuck
jgvv I'm 42 as well, and I couldn't give a rat's fuckin' ass about what you give a fuck about, dude... (I'm sure not the only one either)
Wormhole Jim And that's was mine too, so...you should have told the same thing to him
I'm going to keep this positive. I've been going to Maiden concerts for decades now and I can say that everyone at a Maiden concert is like extended family. Maiden is a a class act all the way, and I don't see it as a bad thing that people find comradery in their music.
Steve is my biggest hero and influence
Iron Maiden...one of the most professional top notch bands of all time. High Caliber heavy music. These guys are some of the best in the business.
Jeremiah Wilson that's what I'm saying! Most people have no clue what it takes to be Steve Harris. Think it's easy to get up there under those hot lights and play like that for hours? It's gruelling, punishing work. It's pretty amazing they can still pull it off after all these years!
Steve Harris write the best metal album ever. KILLERS
People are whining about not understanding what Steve is saying. I understand pretty much everything and I'm a bloody FINN! Accents, people: listen to different accents as much as you can and multiple doors will open, I tell you.
FinnishHalford I'm a Swede and have only been speaking English for 4 years and can easy hear what Steve says.
they understand perfectly, they are just sheep that want high rated comments, just sad losers
FinnishHalford I'm cajun from South Louisiana USA . I understand him perfectly
I began understanding Steve's speech only recently, after decades of listening)))) Finally!!! I used to not understanding his accent either))))
Its fantastic that Steve has kept his Leytonstone cockney accent after all these years.
Retirement my ass. These guys can kick ass another 60 years. God bless these fellas. Long live Maiden, long live metal \m/
I have been a Maiden fan since 1981 and I will finally get to see them live when they play New York City in July. I am so pumped!
36 years and never seen them before??
ESUSAMEX you'll love it leeds was awesome
StartabandRoxy: Sadly, I have not been able to see them before. Every time I wanted to get tickets, they were sold out or I wasn't going to be home when Maiden passed through the NY City area. Thank God, I will be seeing them this year. Afterwards I will have seen almost every one of my favorite bands. I still need to see Rammstein, Tool, A perfect Circle and Megadeth.
Graham: I can't wait!!!!!
Well enjoy the show, you deserve it!
Such a great band leader, among the best to ever do it in my book.
Wonder when Maiden will be inducted in the rock and roll hall of fame.
AMEN!!! IT'S ONLY BEEN SINCE 1969! lol! you'd think after all the bands that credit them as major influences, like, Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Judas Priest I mean come on already! JP and Maiden for R&R HOF 2018!!!!

It's a total fucking joke and I wouldn't waste my time.
Maiden did all the years really good, without any mainstream media support. They dont need that shit.
ABBA.... Fucking ABBA is in and not Maiden... What the holy fuck?
Matthew Dubea to be fair to ABBA they're one of the best selling artist of all time. But don't get me wrong I'd rather see Maiden in there
such a great guy. God bless you 'arry
Did they play their song about Charlotte in tribute?
No offence intended, but had to ask.
So excited to see these guys again when they come to Canada again!
I am so proud of iron maiden still so good great songs all the best 2 all the lads 🇬🇧
A musical genius and it sounds like a post match football interview!
Such a nice bloke - Steve4ever !!!!!
Not all of Maiden are, Dickinson is a bit of a wanker, to be fair, with an ego to match his short arseness.
ab3f4s Is your question directed at me? If so, I'll explain. Dickinson is an egotistical arsehole. You maybe have not seen him in interviews, but from what he says he has a chip on his shoulder. it wasn`t me dude ;)

I remember back in '81 (not sure if it was Kerrang or Sounds magazine), where he was asked about Di'Anno's future with the band and Steve denied flat out that there were issues, ironically in that very same issue on the 'Breaking News' pages it was announced that Di'Anno was out of the band ;)
im not the biggest maiden fan but I have a lot of respect for them. seem like realy good guys
In 2 years they will celebrate 40 years. How many metal bands have done that besides Sabbath and Judas.
Scorpions?
Gabriel Valles Not exactly a Metal band in my opinion.
Justin DeVoe I saw Scorpions on that tour last May with Queensryche. It was definitely a METAL show.
He never ages.....🤘🤘🤘
Definitly YES they should have been in the rock n roll hall of fame. Years ago. Main stream rock music hates metal and it probably wont happen. They Qualify as being one of only 3 of the original metal Bands besides Judas Priest and Black Sabbath. Rock On Maiden.
Dan Hoerle explain to me...why Iron Maiden is one of the 3 "original" Metal bands?
Because Sabbath Started then Judas Priest then Maiden
Believe me. Maiden doesnt need that shit.
PLEASE, DO AS LONG AS YOU CAN!!!
WE love you Steve! Great interview :) Maiden fan 4ever

And OH yeah ... the new album has a great opening song If Eternity should fail They put a fast one on every album/cd listen to that new album if its in your blood it'll catch you and get your heart pumping.
june cannot come soon enough!
in these interviews you realise they are human and they get old like all humans.
Immortality will await you Maiden.
One day I will die, you will die phisically.
But forever into history.
The man is so natural and humble.
All those little pricks should take a leaf out of Mr Harris's book !
The interviewer looks like an estate agent trying to impress Steve by dressing up in some new clothes he just bought 🤣🤣🤣🤣
love it
still a very modest man
Yes, I know Steve
The interviewer is sharp. Good job.
Steve looking Coolz
They need to change alot more than a couple of songs Not enough Piece of Mind Powerslave and Somewhere in Time material
Look boys and gals.. This is what God looks like.
Grande IRON 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Interesting how Steve starts out the interview in the middle of the beer display, and ends up against the wall.
I think it's just the camera man panning around
Up The Irons!!!!!!!!! 🇬🇧 🤘
Up the Irons!
Vitor Hugo Sousa What does that mean sir?!

Steve when he's speaking reminds me Brad Pitt in the movie Snatch..
Steve Harris is the world best master Bass Guitarist in the world.
I got a Harris sweat-band.
I couldn't understand 60% of what Steve said
as usual
I can seriously not understand Steve Harris sometimes and I even qualify as an Anglophile
Neither could I. What kind of fuckin' language does he speak???? HAHAHAHAHAHAH
I think it's that Birmingham Cockney accent, really unintelligible.
I agree, that Birmingham Cockney accent always gets me confused. Nearly as much as those Somerset Geordies. Jeez!
Genius
iron maiden.the best since 1981.i like the trooper.wasted years
Holy smoke.
Is there a version of this with English subtitles?
Shooting Stars LMAO! Best wishes from London.
Do they teach English in Britain?
Do they teach English in ‘Merica? Funny, me being from Croatia doesn’t stop me from understanding EVERY word he said. Get educated scrub 🤘
Do they teach knowledge of the outside world in the USA?
Shooting Stars Why? Can't you understand Steve 'arris?
He keeps putting the mic to close to Steve mouth lol....Up The Irons

Bruce should write more songs. He doesn't rip off bands like Arry
UP THE IRONS\m/
how old would you think Steve is if you didn't know it? :)
Steve's had the same haircut for 40 years, how has he not got any grey hair?
He’s not human. 😂
Dyes it

Steve's beginning to look like Jimmy Page...
Why are today's interviewers always having to "catch up" with their interviewees? Do rock stars run faster than they did in the past?
Been a Maiden fan for more than 23 years, still can't figure out what's going on in his cheeks
british steel
That Cokney accent though
Yank
subtitles here: Bluuueghhe obvious, blueueuehehge??? heheu, good, I mean, blueuaehehgheg good.
theSavageHippie Blarrgghue farblueitin reiragharrgue

really? is that what Steve says in the interview? I didn't see the video yet, but I don't understand English very well, I would really appreciate if you could tell me a little about what he talked about (specially the part of ''retirement'' which scared me as fuck when I read it) lol
Echelon Betha they are still in good shape on don't consider retirement at the moment as it's still all good.
thank you so much
England’s Dave Grohl
So pissed off when he sacked Di'anno cause they couldn't get along, Im a Maiden early days punk fan.
Di'Anno sacked himself. He admitted that his fondness for Columbia's finest was affecting his performances. Pity, cos nobody does Running Free as well as Di'Anno did.
Johnny Marlin I'm 52, Killers still my favorite\m/
Wonder if Harris sacked my favourite Maiden Drummer in Clive Burr, with such amazing jazz metal feel as well.
Yep those first two Maiden Albums my favourite, Punk meets Metal with Di'Anno singing brilliant!!
I think that Steve wears a denture!!!!!
