See this is tricky for me Yes, the animated Autobot government is demonstrably shady as fuck and have allowed a culture of xenophobia to foster on Cybertron But Animated Megatron is also honestly one of the least “freedom fighter” Megatrons ever. He is a manipulative evil conquering villain who’s plan to avenge the injustices heaped on his people is to subjugate (pr possible massacre) a planet of mostly innocent civilians where the military personnel responsible for what happened them to are a relative minority, and he has similar xenophobic believes to his enemies, AND is a blatant fascist with designs on being dictator of the universe So maybe they both suck
True that. It just doesn’t add up with what we’ve have seen with this version of Megatron. The only things we know about this version of him is that he overthrew Megazarak and is the current leader of the Decepticons. And that’s it, we don’t know if he was a gladiator or a miner like his Marvel, IDW, or Aligned Counterparts who started off with Nobel intentions but was corrupted to ambition and power. So he’s most likely was just a grunt in the Deception army who made his way to of chain of command until he possibly became Megazarak’s second in command? There’s a lot we don’t know about the animated universe.
Personally I like the fan accepted theory that pulls from several different sources. Autobots and Decepticons all come from the same place. During its hay day Cybertron was an expansionist colonial planetary power, that conquered other planets for resources. Those that came to be known as Decepticons were built for war and conquest and hence are bigger, stronger, more armed, etc. But at some point this colonial mindset was discard by those who would later be branded as Autobots, and the expansionism was put to an end, leaving millions of walking talking war machines without a job. Since Decepticons are bigger, they need more fuel, and hence the unemployment would affect them far worse than Autobots. Specially since Cybertron's resources would be more limited without colonies. Megatron tried to bring to light the blight of the Decepticons, but did not get a satisfactory response to it, so he decided to kickstart the colonial expansionism once more, after a hostile takeover.
On the topic of organic-hating: If your friend tells you that "you should touch this cool rat I found, he's really smart and is friendly" I wouldn't trust them. But if had to stay in one room with a very clean, friendly and sociable rat for a year, hell yeah I'd touch a rat. I'd go to the local sewer to cuddle every damn rat that lives there.
Nice video. Personally I’ve never liked the idea of Deceptacons and Autobots being 2 different races. I always thought that it was a pretty lazy reason for the start of the war from a story telling perspective. The whole Autobots don’t fly thing is a good point though and the way the autobots speak in the comics do make it seem like that is the case in Animated though. Again great video can’t wait for more.
Actually in the almanac it’s stated that the Decepticons used to be part of the Destrons, the military force on cybertron, they were used by the Protectobots (former faction before the autobots) and they were treated very bad I love how animated portraits the autobots as very intolerant and racists, it just adds layers of story to them

Not a big fan on the idea either. I personally like the alt mode caste system/emancipation that causes the great war.
