    Great Idea!
I have a furnace Utility (only 640k cargo, 4 x furnaces & 24 x solar). If I place it to a sector very, very close to the sun it is able to produce 22kE of solar power. I also included solar batterys with a capacity of 60kEE. Works like charm in that environment.
But if I place it a little further away of the sun, the power production decreases rapidly. You have to experiment around with it to get a feeling for it.
However the 10,4kEE gain from a full set of plasma turbines might also be handy.
Continue your great work. I am thrilled and looking forward to it. Like always ... thanks you!!! ;-)

    Super cool.
    Very unique.
I'd totally love to see this as a POI.

Looks outstanding! Can't wait to see more of it's development. Great concept, great application, and great detailed shaping as always!

Love the idea of a zero-G station. Hex shape looks like it will work well.
One request: once you decide on the orientation of the solar panels, can you spawn it facing the sun before you continue building it? Once the panels are placed it fully determines the light direction on the hull, and that can drastically affect how much the detail shows and where you need to add lights. I love the Svarog station but so much of it ends up in the dark. It will also give you an opportunity to play with shadows in the hangar bay and through windows.

Thinking outside the box, as usual. Nice idea.

Very cool idea for a space station 💯

Lovin' the gravity-indifferent base layout. Looks really promising!
I just recently started playing again...but I thought the container extensions provided 320K and max number of solar panels was 15. Are these larger number server related?

I am looking forward to flying my CV into the center and just hopping out and doing my thing. This is great!

Very cool space station you have there. Last time I saw kind of this shaping direction was in Escarli's builds for the Tesch faction (in game btw to take a look).
According your questions: Maybe consider some fuel tanks + gens somewhere in case free energy parts are not enough. This way you can keep all functions in.
Counter question: Where do you park your monster killer CV or carrier? Probably not in Helios-bays, right?
Looking forward for more progress on this build. Keep up the excellence

Oooh, I like this design. If I had enough time to sink into a multi-player server, I'd definitely be looking forward to this build. Seems a bit much for just me solo. I usually use a modified "Sky Watch Station" with 4 furnaces & extra Solar Panels for my production base

Yup, I use a modified MCRN Skywatch Station in my solo games too! I added more constructors and a lower level for grow plots, plus of course extra solar panels.

I don't know if you'll be able to make any forcefield type thing that would ever make you happy. Rather, maybe just leave that main area open to space, and have some rooms around that are only covered by forcefields so you could just fly in quick and warm up or whatever.
I don't relish having enough O2 tanks to fill that huge space. I know you love farms, but this is surely the best place to put a farm module on that can be power neutral rather than trying to do it for the whole base? Same with furnaces, TBH.
I request you try and use all the biggest parts wherever you can, this is the first build in a long time where you aren't cramming stuff in!
    Thanks Jeff!

Cool idea, could do a lot of the interior in carbon substrate to reduce the cost

I would leave the docking bay open to space, maybe upgrade the dock to combat steel for damage resistance (thinking of shield penetration in re2)

  • @TatoDiasBass

that is exactly the same shape than an old Drone base from Alpha 7 version

I like it. No to stone, there isn't really a point. Iron is the easiest resource to get in RE2. I think iron is easier than carbon. Carbon is basically limited to lava style planets, where iron is on planets, moons, space, and can be scrapped from anything and everything everywhere. I wonder if size class/complexity takes into account the physical size vs block numbers. Because I could see an even bigger version of this with small grav gens on each side being an interesting concept. Might be a thought if trying to air tight the entire thing doesn't work well. Maybe just go big and focus on each side being gravity with air below the landing pad. Maybe that'd be better for a dedicated ring style station that's narrower. Oh, and another ask... no exposed container cargo expanders. I kind of feel like RE2 sort of asks for having your exposed bits be at least iron. But, this looks great and is pretty iconic looking. Nice build and it'll really stand out in game. I guarantee this will be used for POIs.

I forgot with the changes to grav gens you could do a lot more with space stations.
Edit: and then he immediately says no gravity lol

  • @palentier1

I think the problem you are going to run into is you are not going to be able to produce enough free energy to run much. A solution would be to make zero fuel production CV docks for your base.

    • @Prime0pt
      @Prime0pt Месяц назад +3

You can easily run big production station on solar only if you located it near the sun( more then 25kW from standard solar panels and twice from advanced ones). The you can reduce power usage by adding plasma turbines.
