Thanks - I used to play Skirmish a lot on 2014 Ins. Sadly they never ported that so Frontline’s the closest thing. There’s quite a dedicated community playing that backs it hence the deep dive
@@BOSKASAURUS Oooh I played a lot of 2014 Insurgency too, Push mode was still my favorite back then but I liked skirmish a lot too. As you said in the video, now the maps are still designed with Push in mind first. I doubt we'll have new game modes, it would be too difficult to balance (some middle points on Frontline are too unbalanced sadly)
@@BOSKASAURUS Not sure what you mean. Skirmish was part of Sandstorm, but they removed it after the 3rd or 4th update. The maps still exist if you want to run them on a custom server.
@@touchgrasstryhard8604 I didn’t realise that, never saw it since I started the game from late 2019. Only saw Frontline. Good to know we can use community servers but I suppose would require some dedicated players constantly on the servers. Quick question: was sandstorm skirmish with Commander/observer classes? That would be wild.
@@BOSKASAURUS I'm 99% sure that C/O is in that mode. You can probably still pick the maps in local play, but I'm not sure. There were only like 5 or 6 maps with that mode before they killed it.
I worked on this video on and off in 2022 as a follow up to my last guide. Creating something like this from the ground up meant I needed a lot of footage to support what I was saying. Sourcing, editing and scripting the sections over twelve months turned into an ambitious video stylistically. Hope you enjoy it as much as I had making it! Cheers Bosk
Thanks bud, it definitely went through a few versions! The rocket barrage hitting the buildings to drums at 0:28 took a long time to sync up for the sake of 2 seconds of footage. Super happy with the result but I did go a bit crazy.
@@BOSKASAURUS man I can tell that a ton of work went into this. Editing always takes so much longer than it appears :D for what it's worth, you did a great job. Gave me goosebumps!
It's so refreshing to have a high-level guide for Frontlines, of all things. 99% of I:S vids are just "Don't sprint everywhere" "Use smoke" "Play the objective" things that anyone with half a brain would know to do. So thank you again - this really was a treat.
My KD is like 3.3, Top 100 on console. My tips are hit the flanks, sit on the edge of Out-of-Bounds and nail people as they approach. This is what I do for high KD method. For objective method, I’ll push and chill outside of OBJ in a “cheeky spot”, kill a good few then push in. Usually if you have fire support it makes it easier, because you can halt/slow their recapture, I usually call choppers/barrage on the direction of their spawn. Works every time.
4:12 I recommend using the PKM with irons and shooting where the tail meets the body under the helicopter. This will almost always cause engine failure.
Amazing video. The amount of effort you put into this is insane! Very inspiring. I have over 1,000 hours and I knew pretty much all of the things discussed in the video but I enjoyed watching it anyway.
Thanks mate! Appreciate it and glad it most of the content rings true for a veteran player. Was an absolute joy to do a ‘documentary style’ with the 5 parts.
Damn bro im level 1700 on ps5 play frontline faithfully its the best game mode imo but this is great for new players or players looking to get better this game needs players to put in time and effort if they want to get better to fully enjoy the game
Absolutely agree on your point, as you can probably tell I mainly play frontline! Unfortunately there are now five core game modes that it dilutes the strategy entirely for new players, hence the analysis here
Was talking about you only a couple of days ago with the SMASH squad, reminiscing the Rocket League privates from back in the day. We even re-watched an old clip I had of when we met Joastry for the first time. Do you remember that? You asked him 'Where did you get the name Joastry from', he replied 'WHO IS JOASTRY?'. We were all in tears. You made me download Sandstorm again. Hope you are well.
I play it a lot myself on my little Xbox series S. I have to say my favorite class would be commander especially when you get a good advisor with you. Still not bad for a game the came out in 2018! I really do hope they bring out a new one soon? I think it’s about time. Hey, not a bad channel i will subscribe keep up the good work.
The hill by the construction zone is a perfect spawn camp for insurgents on farmhouse. Hideout also has an insane spawn camp spot after you capture C as Security. Cheeky I know but it’s fun lmao
Yeah cheeky but it works. Covered at 17:50 but hill will only catch people using one lane - the building and the balcony is way better as you can track and move in the building and feed into all the lanes centrally @ 08:42. Hideout is fun but wish rounds weren’t so quick on it. The hills across the river pretty much open you up to see most of the map after taking C
Another bosk W video! Keep up the good work, I was wondering if you would ever make class guides like give tips for that said class and how to play them efficiently
Thanks rockjawz. Good idea, but sadly I feel the teamwork is pretty lackluster bar the commander/observer. Maybe for a game like Squad that would be great. However - sicksnipes has excellent gun guides which could fit the bill (before he threw in the towel and went from Insurgency COD fulltime!)
Stopped playing Frontline because it often devolved into both sides camping and not playing the objective. I noticed in modes likw push, players tend to actually play the objective. Im all for defenders camping and hilding stupid angles cause theyre supposed to. But when attackers do it, its pretty annoying. It's not nearly as much lf a problem in push through.
Question, for that spot for security in summit all the way in the back, i cant seem to get to it since its literally the side of a cliff from what i can see in the footage. How did you get there?
Sadly they added the cliff to cover off that area as part of a patch since this video was uploaded. You used to be able to run up the hill to that spot without any hindrance as it was a shallow gradient. However, the other spots I showed above the central lane (@30:48) are still available.
Wow that was such an in depth analysis, I might reinstall the game soon, Frontline was a cool gamemode, and a bit more forgiving than push imho
