This was my first experience with true Dark Fantasy. Before this, I saw sword and sorcery/medieval times, as was depicted in JRPG's. With the Plucky Hero saving the damsel. This however gave me a helping of "There are no Heroes in War fore we all will die". Gave my 11 year old mind PTSD but I always came back for more.
