probably oversized by far, half the registers closed/broken/blocked, lack of return air and plugged everything. you know, the usual hacked and butchered dinosaur homes. 🙄
I was told to replace my furnace 14 years ago when the circuit board shorted out and blew the circuit board. I said replace the board and she's still running great to this day.
4:36 here in Florida, the HVAC companies that come and do a tune-up when have service agreement with do not clean fan motors or blades, do not clean outdoor unit with hose or blow out leaves and junk, they just check indoor units and see if clocked lines, put cleaner down and hook shop vac to condensate line outdoors and then add water back so not dry. That about all they do and have time don’t screw covers in correctly and always fixing along w/ cleaning up all the crap from shoes etc…when leave. DO LIKE HOW THOROUGH you guys are and CLEAN!
You did a great job, but I think you should have checked the rise, You are most likely correct the evap is dirty, You should have been able to see the high limit open and it could be bad, you also have the option to speed up the heat blower to high speed and bridge it with cooling speed on the IFC, so that more heat is disapated
I get it that it's a 20 year old unit and it's a emergency sunday job, but I'd like to know if washing the blower wheel is reserved for summertime as a extra that customer can choose? Don't wanna be creating slipping hazards with icing conditions outdoors anyway
Someone is brilliant. The last Trane was installed in front of a jackpost, this one has the gas cock inside the cabinet. Obviously Trane installation training is “SPECIAL “. Happy Hanukkah Mike to you and your family.👍👍🇨🇦
NIce job MIke, too bad they went with the parts and labor. They are going to regret this decision pretty quickly. You were honest with them and made sure they were safe from CO, at least until that heat exchanger gives out. Happy Hanukkah and may God bless you.
7:19 OK, that is the way to do it, first time seeing a tool like that, where I usually just use ban saw to zip it off. That pretty cool. Also, I’d put new battery in smoke detector b/c the beeping in making me whacko🤪
I don’t doubt that the homeowner has a dirty fan, they probably have dirty ductwork too. I’m surprised that they didn’t opt for duct cleaning, maybe after they watch the video you can sell them a new system and they can get their ducts cleaned. Side business for you?
it will just bang off the high limit, until it doesn't because something failed. 🙄 probably been doing that for the last 3 years or it's whole existence.

Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas and a Safe, Healthy and Happy New Year. 👍🙏
Happy holidays to you and your family
Thank you for showing the importance of proper licensing. A true pro!
The tripping high limit makes me think it’s a dirty evap coil, based on seeing how dirty that blower wheel was.
That’s also a possibility

Mikey great work. But damn wear PPE when you clean a blower wheel like that. I was choking watching it.
Like that shaft blaster
Change that damn chirper battery 🤣……
Merry Christmas Mickey Pipes ….
I’m immune to those chirping alarms
@
Seems like one is always chirping when I help my HVAC guys out

Good job. Man that smoke detector chirp was annoying.
So just like the homeowners, I am also immune to the chirping sounds of smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms
Fixed it perfectly, thanks!
Shaft blaster is awesome
I’ve been doing it for years and it has never let me down

Just to be clear you left the job with the cover still removed? If so what’s the plan?

Damn I'm just holding my breath while you clean the blower wheel!!!
Do you think it could be oversized?

Just started watching, really hope you clean that wheel Mike. Water works better than a nylon brush, just saying….

Yo Mikey, or anyone who's used it, would you recommend Housecall Pro for a one man operation?

Your welcome
Great video. Happy Hanukkah Mike!
Happy holidays!
So the board was toast? Or a likely suspect?
@ yes sir
ahh, the old rubber isolator end mounted motors, it rotated around and eventually rubbed through the wires. bzzzzzt, game over.
Yea Baby. We not only had asbestos flooring but also insulation and the siding on the house . Can't hurt you if you can't see it right?
You got to be kidding me!
just don't disturb it and all is fine.

I would have checked temp. rise. Manifold gas pressure and checked the AC coil when you had the blower out. Otherwise, it's all good.
Thanks for sharing your feedback yeah, I could’ve checked that as well
I would of fired you for not checking the supply and return temp. Here comes a callback
Well, guess what? It’s been almost 72 hours.

Why does that motor sound as bad as the old one?
It’s the inducer assembly, silly
