Everything is a placeholder in MP/3P collecting as there can always be something better. The best aspects of vintage collectables is the vintage is what makes them definitive and while often severely flawed they still can't be improved on.
If you think about it...the season three characters have more toy models especially made by the 3rd parties than those characters from the first two seasons.
I bought this figure from tfs-express and put it on hold for combined shipping. The pictures do this figure no justice. The paint is gorgeous and the transformation actually looks pretty simple! Can't wait to get him, along with my other preorders Hoist, Trailbreaker, Unicron, Twincast, and the quintesson.
I'm definitely not early to this party, but I think this may be my Scourge. I'm way more of a S3 fan than a movie fan, and this color is spot on. Look at the episode, Grimlock's New Brain. This is it.
I have the cartoon version of the swarm team & they look good but I do not plan to replace my original Andras with the toon version. I know that Andras face is a little different from the sweeps but I like the way his color is slightly different from the rest which makes Scourge stick out more as the leader of the sweeps in my opinion. Awesome video as always.
I think this mold is a good representation of Scourge but I didn't think he was significantly shorter than Eligos. In the cartoon, they seem to be about the same height. That height difference has me on the fence to get him and the Sweeps.
If you look at the Sunbow chart he’s right but the issue is on the chart because his legs are bent. So in my opinion he’s to short but that’s my opinion
Yeah, definitely not a bad figure. Personally I think his a bit pricey, especially for a repaint of an older mold. It's Weird, I think Xtransbots prices have increased significantly. Especially after seeing the Quinteson for like $170. I would love to see a KFC version of the Sweeps for the same price as there Junkions! As always great video Mike!
This guy was pricey back in the day but the paint added to the cost and the new normal pricing. Yes wish they could do things to keep the costs down. Thanks
Did you have to force your flight stand into the figure to get it to fit? I just got mine in the mail today and the stand is definitely too big for mine and was wondering if I have to force it.
I had this one preordered but then I heard lots o ppl complaining about the paint, that it was badly applied and even missing in some points so I gave up on it. Besides the price increase for extra paint that was badly applied, I think the color from the first release is closer to the original cartoon color and I suspect Fans Toys may release a better one eventually. If I ever manage to get a first release MX-II andras for a good price I will buy it. Thanks for the review.
good review Mike Did you get the head issue not completely going in in vehicle mode fixed? (same in my version) Tolerances are just a tiny bit better. Still it is a very good looking Scourge!
That part where you have to push the feet through the ankle shell was the worst transformation idea of any MP I'd ever seen. Glad to see the re-release sort of made it slightly less nightmarish.
Yeah. Definitely going to cancel my pre order. It doesn't look good next to Sovereign or Quietus in my opinion, and I don't like the arms either. I could have sworn I saw pics of him with those figures tho, and he didn't look out of place. Anyways, thanks for the in depth video!
Pretty cool, but the Fracas (Targetmaster partner for Scourge) is by far the absosmurfinlute *WEAKEST* part of the set. I'm not particularly interested in a MP sized Scourge (or Cyclonus) - only way would be if I were to get a Galvatron, and I certainly don't wanna do THAT 😆😆 - but I think that the old version of XTB "Andras" would be a better option...and I'd be perfectly fine with him NOT being a Targetmaster either way (that Fracas SUCKS!!). BUT...wow, he really is that short compared to Cyclonus & Galvatron!? So even Hasbro & Takara got it right with the Universe/Reveal the Shield/Generations (All Deluxes, but Generations Scourge was the shortest) & Combiner Wars/Titans Return/Studio Series 86/Kingdom (SS86-5 Scourge is a Voyager, but I bet he's still shorter than CW & Kingdom Cyclonus and TR Galvatron)??? 😮😮😮
Yes it does look more like the pictures but I bet there are a few episodes that look more like the new one. I sorta lean toward the look in the 1986 movie which is first release. Thanks

Virtus!!! Thanks for making this. I couldn’t bring myself to order the new one with the nice paint, but now I’m happier with the color of my original.
Yes the original looks more correct but the feet are enhanced for new.

He is a great figure and you do mention some I look forward to also! Thanks

2:21 - 2:43 "Do you want me to gut Ultra Magnus?"
It's as if X-transbots got a great deal on some Tamiya or Gunze-Sanyo paints, and went nuts!
love the tom cruise standonabox solutions at the end lol
I got the xtransbots sweeps and they all look the same. I'm wondering how you tell Andras apart from the SWEEPS trio.

He is shorter but not that short. The first step up in my example is probable perfect

Cyclonus and Scourge my fav chars from after the movie era :)
Sadly I did not appreciate them back in the day but I really love them now! They did age well! Thanks
@@tydiriumhanger1320 ah I knew their lines by heart

Nice work i had to take the screws out of the legs to get enough clearance for those feet!
Well the new one works so much better but feels fragile so any extra precautions is well warranted!

My example had no paint issues even with the stand inserted and I was sure it would chip! Yes the new price is the new norm but not too bad.
I hope XTransbots do Galvatron real soon. FansToys Galvatron is way too pricey. 😞
good review Mike
Did you get the head issue not completely going in in vehicle mode fixed? (same in my version)
Tolerances are just a tiny bit better.
Still it is a very good looking Scourge!
No I will never transform it back so no issue for the head here
Nice coverage again.
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks
I see the inside of the wings has the overspray issue. Mine is way worse.
Excellent review man.
I appreciate it! Thanks

I remember my thumbs were so sore trying to push them through!
Yes it felt way better but more fragile
@@wongkevinl It was actually so much easier I thought I was going to break it for some reason
4:12 may use oil
AmI the only one who prefers the colouring of the old version?
He came with an extra piece. Do you know what the extra piece is for? I can't figure it out.
What does the extra piece look like? I have him and I don't remember an extra piece...
@@kmkirste it’s a small piece in a small plastic bag. The color is the new metallic blue scheme but just don’t know what’s it for.

Yes the targetmaster is weak and most are. I wish I was a little bit taller I wish I was a baller! Thanks
According to the Sunbow chart, he's supposed to be shorter than both Galvatron and Cyclonus.
@@GhostRider-870 Yes but not that short? still like him
The original is more true to the color of the character in my opinion.
Yes it does look more like the pictures but I bet there are a few episodes that look more like the new one. I sorta lean toward the look in the 1986 movie which is first release. Thanks
Original = movie color version
New = season 4 version
That makes sense
@@tydiriumhanger1320 I mean, in seasons 3 and 4 in general, the animation color of the Transformers G1 cartoon went more dark
The head on my Scourge is the same way in alt mode.
Will never see the alt mode again so no problem for me!
