Second I agree wholeheartedly with what you said about X-Transbots. I love their Transformers and I am a huge fan of what they have done. I've been looking all over trying to get a look at what they have coming because nothing they have shown off lately is doing much for me as a small time collector. I would love to see them do something surprising like their own take on the Dinobots or the Insecticons or a few more of the minibot originals. I would love to see their take on Huffer, Gears, or Pipes and also some of the gang like Goldbug. Right now they really are not wowing us with their release schedule. I keep wondering if they're keeping it a secret because they're worried FansToys might move to produce the same figures to undermine their releases. It certainly seems like FansToys has been doing that a bit. Also I know you don't agree, but I think Mastermind Creations is right there with FansToys and X-Transbots. Their Combaticons are amazing. I have a couple and I cannot say enough good things about them. I also have their Guzzle and it is perfect. I love their tapes too. Their figures are high quality and their transformations are top notch. I do agree that these few 3rd party companies are leaving Takara in the dust. They really need to step up their game if they want anyone to even care about their future releases.

As someone who just started collecting again last year I’m pumped about Scourge and the Sweeps. I ordered all 4. I would order all the Junkions too but my preorder list is already outrageous.

I have the original Scourge displayed with FT’s Galvatron and Syclonus and the new one would look better with them. But I also would have been way more excited for the trailer or a new Ultra Magnus ( have the MP but thinks it could use more paint and details), Most of all I want someone to put out a Predaking or Abominus at the MP scale. On a side note I live in DC and I am also very happy with the numbers and the way things have been going around here.

Totally agree. Not sure if Keith is aware of the high regard that these companies are held in since the incredible improvements in design and quality. They should be more prolific than they are based on their designs. We need more frequent releases and higher priority characters in the mix. Not in place of some of these cool niche offerings, but alongside them. And yes! We need Protectobots done well!

I got Boost, Hatch and Arkose. I sold when everyone was going crazy for them so I at least went out on a better note. I said I wouldnt buy any more, but MP Skids is very tempting..but I dont know, I think its the whole hole in the collection thing more than anything else I guess. Always enjoy your videos even if I dont agree. Keep it up!
X-Transbots showed a very flimsy looking Elita-1 prototype before, they should stop competing with other companies and do an unexpected but overdue line of MP height FemmeBots! All the classics and then Slipstream and color variations for the cons, with XTBs level of quality and the fact that they would be the only company doing those characters even the repaints would fly off shelves. ....and an Alpha-Trion to hang with the ladies would be cool too. I wouldn't even care about the alt mode if the articulation is legit.
I have the old Scourge and am good with 1 because of space and I never want to suffer through transforming him again. I got the junkion 2pack last time it came out so with WreckGar in bot mode and the other in cycle mode, I’m good. Will get their Quintesson judge though. Still waiting for Virtus, but got the fans toys springer just in case Virtus didn’t get made. Would definitely like to see xtb step up and make more essential characters.

As someone who just got in the 3rd party game and back into Transformer collecting (masterpiece) I’m really happy I’m going to get Andras/Scourge and I think he looks amazing. I’m not getting the 3 pack of sweeps because I don’t have the space right now and I’m trying to use my $$ on getting the figures I really really want. Now having said that I’m waiting to see their Springer this month and I’m almost 100% that I’m purchasing it. Right now X-Transbots is the company that has me the most excited followed by Fans Hobby. I have their Minerva paid for and it should shipped this week to the retailers, so I hope to have her soon! I can’t to see what else they are going to release.
I really like a lot of their figures and can't wait to get my g2 motormaster+trailer. Thank God they made a decent Blaster back in the day! All I ask is they immediately fire the marketing guru who conjured $175 Dr. Egg.

I think it's a smart move, FT Sovereign reissue sold out in hours and it's been rumored that Quietus is being reissued as well...now so are Scourge and the Sweeps. They are getting some of that FT hype for themselves. It's still a boring announcement though.
Now that the competition for characters like Springer and Inferno is essentially over, why not go ahead and produce those figures. I didn't get any of the MP Infernos because Keith's looked so much better. I'd still happily buy it. Is the market so saturated now that someone can't come along and do something better and cause us to replace the figures we already have?
Hell, where's their Galvatron? Fans Toys' Sovereign was originally released years ago. Surely that's been enough time to rework theirs? Granted, I'd prefer less reveals and actually getting what has already been revealed released. Some actual assurance that we'll get the things they reveal one day.
I think he decided to push the facelift stuff because there was a drought and then can max profits on a reissue. Then after you buy that round then serve some red meat and you'll definitely get people jumping in again. If you do it in reverse though you wouldn't work out because they would buy round 1 and then pass on round 2.

Suprised that skullface didnt mention the XTB; lets all be fair we know they are just a side hustle of KFC at this point; but they also left their major project the Power Master Optimus Rainjin set up in the air. I mean, this is a stunningly obvious thing to say, but this is just your opinion. I couldn't give a rat's arse about Sandstorm or Protectobots, but I am excited for the Quints (and would be for sentry robots). I'm less interested in the Andras reissue because I already have the first run and I don't like the new colours, but there are loads of people clamouring for it as they missed out before. Pretty much everything you said here can also be said of FT. They're reissuing stuff like Koot and Sovereign in limited runs at insane prices. They don't have anything new ready to go save for perhaps Hunk and that's already overdue. XTB has the new Junkions, Virtus, Locke, the Quints and a few others all with touching distance, so they seem pretty well positioned to me. I'm certainly more excited for XTB's lineup than FT's. I also think they've been matching FT on quality of late.
I for one think x transbots did good in taking on the quintesson lines. And junkion lines. Hope we get alicons and sharkticons from them soon. Hope they go for terrorcons and technobots in the future.

I think my Apollyon breaking on me put me off of buying anything KFC/Xtransbots. But I do think Keith is doing interesting things. I want their G2 Arkose,but heard bad things about that mold. And yea that Scourge looks awesome. I'm not really wanting Koot,supposedly Xtransbots are releasing a version of Kup eventually. There is potential for interesting stuff to come out. Yeah,I'm thinking about picking up the MMC Combaticons,but those FEET are tiny. But they are really sticking to the masterpiece route. Bro, are you saying that X-Transbots are no longer releasing Locke (Kup) at all? Or that we won't see him in the near future? To be honest, I think what potentially killed him - more than the fact that FT-22 is out there - is the metallic paint scheme they were gonna release him in and the remoulding they seem to have done since that picture The image you showed of Locke is an older image - and one I would've definitely bought - but more recent pictures show him in a hideous metallic paint scheme that doesn't look anything like those colour renders we first got , and I wasn't interested anymore, got my FT-22 ordered from my seller right now...
I think X-transbots is still too focused on building their gameplan around complementing Takara (even going so far as to include accessories for Takara figures with their figures), whereas Fanstoys now ignores what Takara has already put out and does their own thing. X-transbots needs to realize that Takara has all but given up on G1 MP and has basically let Fanstoys usurp them as the dominant force in this particular product line, so really X-transbots should be more focused on complementing Fanstoys. Although maybe the new Andras repaint is a sign that that's where their headed, since there hasn't been any news of an Eligos repaint and Abadonn seems to have been abandoned.
I agree and disagree with the Xtransbots argument. Ya Xtransbots re-using the same mold for a repaint is not necessary for scourge. However Fantoys re uses molds and repaints from time to time. Only thing is Fantoys pumps out more product. Personally I want an MP style Autobot X spike, & an Mp sized Quintesson, thats a must especially if you are a hard-core g1 collector. Hope that an Mp style Sharktacon eventually comes out either by Xtransbots or Fantoys I'll buy it regardless cause its something different. Also I want an Mp sized Alphatrion as well, & Orion Pax
I looked at xtb kup but just couldn't get behind it and jumped at the opportunity to get ft kup instead. I feel like xtb stuff looks like ft dropped the clay while sculpting theirs. They look a little think and a bit mushed. I'm not happy with ft crap transformation but I don't know that anyone else is competing... having said that I'd be all over xtb protectibots if they were at the same price as the stunticons. I don't care enough about them to pay ft prices for the team.
I had started to detox, then I bought a fuckton of older 3P on sale, stuff I'd sold but still enjoyed (my money situation got waaay better). Now I'm out of space. As to KFC/XTB I think they do a great bit of good work and agree...they are really chasing some low-to-rotten fruit right now. I wonder if the virus has impacted their designers and the entire process from design to production for most 3P. It does seem so.

Daniel Torres I think the audience for those you listed are limited. TF’s popularity started to wane after the movie killed off OP. I myself was a fan of Rod and GALVATRON, but am also guilty of leaving the brand after watching the movie, as I found BMX that summer..... such is life. Anyways, with that being said, I have zero interest in any of the season 3 characters that were not in the movie. I’ve felt as an adult collector, that the movie is mostly either a starting point for new fans or stopping point for fans started in 84. There ARE those that partook in both, but it’s usually one or the other. I said all that to speculate that perhaps Keith is the latter. Perhaps his interest became one with the matrix after OP proclaimed “Arise Rodimus Prime”. That’s why XTB has not done the protectobots or Seacons.

Where can I get those Quintesson drones? I would like one. Although I would absolutely love those decepticon truck drones when Megatron and Orion Met for the first time. I want those decepticon truck drones so I can pair them up with those earth base autobots to increase the number of troops of the decepticons so it's more even.
Great video but I think the fundamental problem is xtb is being held in to high a regard. They have survived the war of attrition but that doesn’t make them better just a survivor. Just like drs aren’t the smartest people they are just the most determined. Xtb makes an OK product and that hasn’t changed. still behind ft unique toys and mmc

I think it's a smart move, FT Sovereign reissue sold out in hours and it's been rumored that Quietus is being reissued as well...now so are Scourge and the Sweeps. They are getting some of that FT hype for themselves. It's still a boring announcement though.
How about Runamuck and Runabout? Or Jumpstarters? There a lot of cool characters no one has touched in MP.

Now that the competition for characters like Springer and Inferno is essentially over, why not go ahead and produce those figures. I didn't get any of the MP Infernos because Keith's looked so much better. I'd still happily buy it. Is the market so saturated now that someone can't come along and do something better and cause us to replace the figures we already have?

Granted, I'd prefer less reveals and actually getting what has already been revealed released. Some actual assurance that we'll get the things they reveal one day.
I think he decided to push the facelift stuff because there was a drought and then can max profits on a reissue. Then after you buy that round then serve some red meat and you'll definitely get people jumping in again. If you do it in reverse though you wouldn't work out because they would buy round 1 and then pass on round 2.

Suprised that skullface didnt mention the XTB; lets all be fair we know they are just a side hustle of KFC at this point; but they also left their major project the Power Master Optimus Rainjin set up in the air. As that set looked FAR better than the chubby kid in cardboard box cosplay Fans Hobby version.... enjoy never being able to unsee that now when lookin at that FH version now. :D
I mean, this is a stunningly obvious thing to say, but this is just your opinion. I couldn't give a rat's arse about Sandstorm or Protectobots, but I am excited for the Quints (and would be for sentry robots). I'm less interested in the Andras reissue because I already have the first run and I don't like the new colours, but there are loads of people clamouring for it as they missed out before.
Pretty much everything you said here can also be said of FT. They're reissuing stuff like Koot and Sovereign in limited runs at insane prices. They don't have anything new ready to go save for perhaps Hunk and that's already overdue. XTB has the new Junkions, Virtus, Locke, the Quints and a few others all with touching distance, so they seem pretty well positioned to me. I'm certainly more excited for XTB's lineup than FT's. I also think they've been matching FT on quality of late.
I for one think x transbots did good in taking on the quintesson lines. And junkion lines. Hope we get alicons and sharkticons from them soon. Hope they go for terrorcons and technobots in the future.

I think my Apollyon breaking on me put me off of buying anything KFC/Xtransbots. But I do think Keith is doing interesting things. I want their G2 Arkose,but heard bad things about that mold. And yea that Scourge looks awesome. I'm not really wanting Koot,supposedly Xtransbots are releasing a version of Kup eventually.
There is potential for interesting stuff to come out. Yeah,I'm thinking about picking up the MMC Combaticons,but those FEET are tiny. But they are really sticking to the masterpiece route. And when and if Maketoys comes screaming back out,who knows what they'll do. I hate to say it,I may be wrong,it seems that 3p legends are faring better. And of course there is Fanstoys...

Bro, are you saying that X-Transbots are no longer releasing Locke (Kup) at all? Or that we won't see him in the near future? To be honest, I think what potentially killed him - more than the fact that FT-22 is out there - is the metallic paint scheme they were gonna release him in and the remoulding they seem to have done since that picture The image you showed of Locke is an older image - and one I would've definitely bought - but more recent pictures show him in a hideous metallic paint scheme that doesn't look anything like those colour renders we first got , and I wasn't interested anymore, got my FT-22 ordered from my seller right now...
I think X-transbots is still too focused on building their gameplan around complementing Takara (even going so far as to include accessories for Takara figures with their figures), whereas Fanstoys now ignores what Takara has already put out and does their own thing. X-transbots needs to realize that Takara has all but given up on G1 MP and has basically let Fanstoys usurp them as the dominant force in this particular product line, so really X-transbots should be more focused on complementing Fanstoys. Although maybe the new Andras repaint is a sign that that's where their headed, since there hasn't been any news of an Eligos repaint and Abadonn seems to have been abandoned.
Personally I am still waiting for dreadwind and dark wing they teased a few centuries ago.

I agree and disagree with the Xtransbots argument. Ya Xtransbots re-using the same mold for a repaint is not necessary for scourge. However Fantoys re uses molds and repaints from time to time. Only thing is Fantoys pumps out more product. Personally I want an MP style Autobot X spike, & an Mp sized Quintesson, thats a must especially if you are a hard-core g1 collector. Hope that an Mp style Sharktacon eventually comes out either by Xtransbots or Fantoys I'll buy it regardless cause its something different. Also I want an Mp sized Alphatrion as well, & Orion Pax
I looked at xtb kup but just couldn't get behind it and jumped at the opportunity to get ft kup instead. I feel like xtb stuff looks like ft dropped the clay while sculpting theirs. They look a little think and a bit mushed. I'm not happy with ft crap transformation but I don't know that anyone else is competing... having said that I'd be all over xtb protectibots if they were at the same price as the stunticons. I don't care enough about them to pay ft prices for the team.

I had started to detox, then I bought a fuckton of older 3P on sale, stuff I'd sold but still enjoyed (my money situation got waaay better). Now I'm out of space. As to KFC/XTB I think they do a great bit of good work and agree...they are really chasing some low-to-rotten fruit right now. I wonder if the virus has impacted their designers and the entire process from design to production for most 3P. It does seem so.

Daniel Torres I think the audience for those you listed are limited. TF’s popularity started to wane after the movie killed off OP. I myself was a fan of Rod and GALVATRON, but am also guilty of leaving the brand after watching the movie, as I found BMX that summer..... such is life. Anyways, with that being said, I have zero interest in any of the season 3 characters that were not in the movie. I’ve felt as an adult collector, that the movie is mostly either a starting point for new fans or stopping point for fans started in 84. There ARE those that partook in both, but it’s usually one or the other. I said all that to speculate that perhaps Keith is the latter. Perhaps his interest became one with the matrix after OP proclaimed “Arise Rodimus Prime”. That’s why XTB has not done the protectobots or Seacons.
