If you have the G1 figures these Omnibots are based on, you'll see that they're extremely accurate to how the actual toys look like. Most of the newer figures are very toon accurate but these Omnibots were never in the cartoons so XTB made them extremely toy accurate instead.
Just got mine, I get what you mean with the figure getting on your nerves, the back just doesn't tab in solidly into the doors, and it's annoyng that the hip rotates while the legs also rotate within the hips. Also, the instructions seem to imply you can fold the doors away so they become "invisible" from the front, but not even their earliest cg renders or prototypes seem to actually have this feature... Still though, he *looks* stunning in both modes. I mainly just display the figures so I'm more than fine with this, gorgeous display piece. By the way, your copy seems to be missing the black plate on the left inside leg...
It really does look like they could've done better with the backpack to square it off and solidify it, but they just couldn't figure it out without going to square one again, so they just settled.
Are the thumbs the same as xtb Longhaul? I would have broken them if I didn't watch tmreviews. Better than static but not the best. Good review sir. Let's go to 100 without a break (I had my concerns on this xtb review).
After looking at the G1 toy and images of the character, I think he looks great job representing the look of Downshift. I really enjoy the realistic cars of Masterpiece. Too bad the line turned into ultra toon accurate. I'm looking forward to the Ocular Max Stray (Drift) because I love the character, the AE86 car and the anime show (Initial D) it is featured in.
I like mine, it’s a slightly janky release, but that just makes it feel more G1, which it’s fair share of compromises. As an owner of the G1 figure, I can see what they’ve tried to do in terms of modernisation, and they’ve given it the good ol’ XTB try. One major plus is the price, £75 for an MP figure with this much heft is good value, but it’s average at best. Fair review as always, enjoy your take and good to see it full that gap on your shelf!
Because it's extremely toy accurate. I think XTB made these Omnibots to match more with how the toys look as they were never in the cartoons. These were exclusive figures.
@@MythsAndHeroes Even if you break it, they'll replace it. This goes for all the manufacturer such as Fans Toys, XTB, MMC and others. Just contact whoever you bought it from and they'll do the rest. It'll usually take like 2 - 4 weeks to get the replacement parts.
If there were other options for this character, I’d probably go a different route. This will be the only XTB figure I will have bought all year. I need a representation of the Omnibots on my shelf, so XTB it is. I will only buy obscure stuff from this company from now on.
They are good for the obscure characters like these. Hopefully they do a topspin and twist wist. Maybe a whirl and roadbuster? Decepticon and autobot twins??
Thanks for the early review Bobby. I like the Omni Bots so I'm in on this. It does seem a bit rushed as there are some inconsistencies. Overall though it's a nice figure and good addition to the ferrari one. Just waiting on the Mazda now, LOL.
Happily cancelled my preorder. I'm tired of the usual average xtb figures that get in my nerves. I don't think I'll ever buy another, if they don't change the way they engineer their figures
Calling this figure (and others by one company) "trash" is too extreme and paints with too broad of a brush. As evidenced from Bobby's review, the figure has some problems, but a "soft recommend" isn't "trash." To each his own, though, I guess. Gracious.
I'm glad I don't even know the OmniBots as characters (I know they were mail-order figures that where originally Diaclone car models and that is why they have these decos and don't actually look like TF characters) so I never jumped in on these because I don't like the designs.I believe these characters had a brief appearance in a couple of comics but I don't remember them. Besides not liking the original design, even though XTB has nothing to do with it, this TF action figure has a lot of kibble, holes and as Mr. Skullface said, it looks very unfinished. The XTB Ominibots are definitively not for me. Thanks for the review Mr. Skullface.
"This figure gets on my nerves."
Should honestly be the tagline on the box of every XTB figure.
😂
When I start a rock band it’s going to be called “Base Pin Knuckle”
Would make a good name for a TF podcast too.
The hosts would be the Base Pin Knuckleheads.
Would you like some suggestions for song names? 😅
They got this toyota right on the money. All the way down to the correct rims. Damn. It's gorgeous.
Was going to say the same!
"they want solid feet? I'll give them solid feet. There, it's a box. What's more solid than a box?" Keith, probably
give them a couple of years, they'll find out how to put spheres inside the feet too.

I would buy just for the alt mode. That's pretty slick.
I preordered all 3 Omnibots about a year ago from ShowZ. Camshaft was one of my fave G1 toys as a kid so I'm patiently waiting for his release.

Just asked Agabyss to put mine to the side to pick up.
So first XTB stole the QC sticker and now they're taking the Fans Toys squeek too?? Madness
You got clearance Clarence??
Bobby, I was waiting for you to bust out with the Commodores, when you were transforming the first leg, when you said "once, twice".
I was hoping you'd look at the flipping panel on the bonnet/shin. What's going on with that?
It looks great... especially being there is no competition... but if it's anything like Janssen ick
Xtb does a nice alt mode
This looks like a slightly better version of their Fuzz.
Head is a little big, but I think the white on black makes it seem way bigger
Why It has an Ikea cabinet instead of feet
Because it's extremely toy accurate. I think XTB made these Omnibots to match more with how the toys look as they were never in the cartoons. These were exclusive figures.
I like what they've done here but I'll wait for a hasbro release simply because I dont trust X-transbot's quality controls
Bobby I just wanted to say your intro is the only one I never fast-forward through I love it!!!👻🎃
Same here.
Agreed! A few years ago when I first heard it I was mind blown!
Same - it's catchy and it's not too long. Perfect intro really.
eah 83 supra or celica-supra......nice
Welp... thats going to be yet another xtransbots cancel for me. 😮💨
What is that square panel on the left leg?
He's extremely toy accurate and that box is where the Autobot insignia goes.
But. The question I have is how come you never got a replacement foot from X transbots. For the red figure ?
I never tried. I broke it, it’s on me.
@@MythsAndHeroes X transbots is easy to work with. Parts are cheap

Gas gas gas 😏😏
Not an ae86

@@josephmonroy3865 absolutely, these are the only type of characters I will buy from XTB. Everything else is Fans Toys for me.

Overdrive was t great either. Kinda loose
Looks better the fast & fury. And Ron , Ratliff /. They looked horrible, This one looks standard X transbots
❤💪🏾
XTB is not my cup of tea
4th!
XTB with the trash as usual 👎
Wow
@@kishennandha9127I know. Shame they took away the downvote button.
Well at least there making Omnibots , counter punch and other g1 figures company’s like MMC. Or Fanstoys aren’t ,
I wish they learned, once they get better with transformation, tolerances and consistencies I might get their figures.
