The Jeeg isn't a transformer, it's from Go Nagai's 70's anime called Kotetsu Jeeg or Steel Jeeg where the MC ended up transformed in a cyborg after an accident. His girlfriend piloted a ship that would shoot multiple pieces that formed the body of a giant robot called Jeeg and the MC formed the head to fight the Great Jama Kingdom. The car mode didn't existed instead he would disconnect parts of his body to combine with drills instead of his arms and horse legs to form a sort of centaur.

The designers of that jeeg came out and said that they used the fans project Chrome dome as inspiration. I bought this on release a few years back. It's a great figure.
That transforming Jeeg has been out for two years. My local toy and game shop has it for like 300. I was interested in it before I went into debt. Maybe the pics you found were from a rerelease? The paint seems to look more premium. I have seen the transformation video for it,it definitely is reminiscent of Chromedome. I am very tempted to get that Metal Souls Tiger,it looks awesome! Jeeg is a Japanese robot who been kicking around since the 70's. He had some representation in Takara's Microman line I believe but I don't think he's had a transforming gimmick (especially not a headmaster one,) until this toy. It has been out for awhile but it is pricey.
@@SoelGriffin Not going to lie,as soon as I seen that Game Addict in my local mall had it,I wanted it. But for 300? Geez. I am interested in the background of the character,and for non Transformer stuff like Machine Robo and The Brave series.
@@DeluxeBaldwin makes since. I want to see how this NA Blaster pairs with MS Soundwave. So far, all I have is a MFT Blaster and he's huge. Who knows, maybe MS will get wild and crazy and pull out an amazing Blaster 2.0

I have Skybound Volume 1 on my living room table, wasn't going to read it until volume 2 gets here next month. Now volume 3??? dammit, now I gotta read stuff.
The only way you could do a Pretender shell is by using armour plates if you don't want to sacrifice a ton of articulation or having a massive backpack to fold the bot into a box. I wouldn't mind going the armour route however since they're just going with the Japanese animation they'll likely have smaller humans
