Teslacam Stories is a series of Tesla owners real experiences told by the Tesla Dashcam and Sentry Mode videos. All incidents are recorded from Tesla vehicles and submitted to this channel by other Tesla enthusiast. I contact each person who send me their videos to talk with them and learn more about their story and to follow up what happened after what we see on their video. Voice over and captions are added to describe what happened, and why. I believe that this additional information regarding the incident gives the videos a newsworthy value.
From the footage and additional information, a viewer can learn the consequences of bad driving and can educate his/her self with better driving safety. This process also gives the videos a great educational value. It is my desire to add my own unique and creative value in a transformative way to ensure you enjoy and learn from the videos being presented.

I still if I ever get a Tesla, it'll be parked in my garage for at least two months. There are too many videos that start out with, "so-and-so was driving their two-week-old Tesla," or maybe, "so-and-so had their Tesla for only a month when a Honda happened." I just don't think I could risk it.

I agree however, the Honda driver should not have kept driving forward knowing there was a fire truck trying to make its way, to allow more people into the right. you need to pull over and STOP for police and firetrucks not try to out race them like I see a lot of people do

Both are at fault. The Toyota never checked if there was an incoming car and the Honda never stopped for the firetruck.

I work at Tesla. EVERYTHING in the car is solid as fuck and very high quality. Except for the body. The body is very light weight due to the battery already weighing over 4klbs

They're appealing to children, or adults with zero attention spans, that can't listen/watch a video without a radical-sounding voice hyping everything up. You can tell that’s an outstanding person by the appearance of their drawers. A clear sign of a respectable person.
I usually don't comment on these but that vette driver who hit tree, paying out of pocket when he said he would is such a stand up guy!!!! It was refreshing to see and hear that there are still honest people out there.
I had just bought a used car with cash and had it two months when it was totaled while parked in front of my driveway. The driver stayed and I got a check for the full value of the car from his insurance. He only had damage to his bumper and could have driven away. That was when I was young and didn't have much money. Was already demoralized that the car I'd saved all my paychecks a year and a half for was gone in a second. Can't imagine how it would have effected me if he hadn't done the right thing.

I suppose that it was a drink driver but supposing is not knowing, so the officer didn't know either..
He could have died to just to stop a drunk driver and left his family behind..
And his children would rather have a father than a dead hero.
At least i would, but luckily it went ok and he has successfully done his job.

I actually was almost hit by that wrong way driver in Oregon while driving a semi truck. I always wondered how that ended, now I know! I’m glad no one died, and I have great respect and gratitude for that police officer who put his life on the line to protect others!

14:10 I have been told by several motorcyclists that they never use the front brake as they fear the front brake will lock up and flip them over forward.
The front brake(s) of motor vehicles are by far the most effective in emergency braking. They take care in their use to avoid lockup and front tire skids. Motorcycles of course, with a few exceptions, have independent control of the front and rear brakes.
When it came to clip 42, the theory I have of why the cost kept going up, was as they were trying to repair the car, due to it being Tesla, they were all custom parts, and they were finding more and more of these custom Tesla parts, it raised the price exponentially. Finally to many were needed, it was considered totaled as it was to many custom parts destroyed and needing replaced. But don't get me wrong, the bent frame isn't out the window. Tesla car frames are custom to those specific models too, lol.
This is not uncommon especially with higher priced popular vehicles. Spare and scrap parts are worth a ton of money more so because there just aren’t enough wrecked teslas to fill demand. Insurance companies, body shops, parts dealers, used car sellers, etc., have incentive to scrap your car then turn around and make money from it. If their calculation model says they can make money by scrapping your car vs repair…well.

That car has hit many things, no front bumper, mirror held on with tape and half the left fender missing.
I was in that tornado in barrie, was wild, one of the houses had the whole front ripped off but everything inside was still intact, like tissue boxes still where they were before

The one thing I learned from this video: Unless it's a tiny fender bender, Tesla accidents will be "deemed a total loss". Telsa needs to work on this and make repairs cheaper or something so less accidents become a "total loss"!

I can't tell you how much I just love the fact that Tesla's are able to capture offenders, and their plate #'s so they can be brought to justice! I wish I could add a "sentry mode" with cameras to my smart car!! :)

The real question is why was he in the left lane in the first place? There's no one in front of him there's no one in the right lane to the rear. The left lane is for passing.

Nexar has a good front and rear dash cam kit for around $100 at Walmart. Doesn't have to be a Tesla to have front and rear cameras.

Its unbeoivable how strong those back cameras are! With an impact from a truck going full speed the camera dosnt breake..
Camera is mounted on "soft" plastic and the camera is tiny and doesnt weigh anything. In order for the camera to break it has to be a very strong sudden impact directly on it or the camera would have to be rigidly mounted.

The racing part was cool... It's amazing to see how most 'race cars' want to challenge a Tesla... I rented one to please my son, who is an AVID follower and watcher of your channel, and man, gotta say, I DON'T WANT TO TAKE IT BACK, LOL! We got challenged by a Mach1 last Sunday in Jersey. Idk wth happened, but I evened up with him after letting him take advantage of about a mile after he 1st entered the highway, he signaled me to get up with him when saw me approaching. I either didnt wait long enough for him to react, or he wasn't paying attention, but I was ready. He just stayed behind. There's no way they can match a Tesla, and I only have the Model 3 short range. These cars are bad a$$ !! LOVE TESLA!

Some states don’t require two plates.
Bit awkward for motorcycles to have a front plate.
Rear plates on a semi are absolutely pointless, they can't usually be seen and can be confused with trailer plates

38:20 It does have battery coolant which would need cleaning up (G-48 which is a commonly used coolant in the dinosaur powered vehicles). It does also have brake fluid which definitely needs cleaning up (Will cause damage to paint on vehicles as stated in the Tesla Owners Manual). And unless he is using just straight up water there is probably some windshield wiper fluid that needs cleaning up (When left on the ground attracts animals and insects and is highly toxic. A spoonful of that will most likely kill you. Dangers also stated in Tesla Owners Manual). Just to clarify, I am not hating on Tesla. Just dont get the wrong idea that Teslas are wonderful and perfect.

Locking the rear brake doesnt cause a highside, it causes a lowside. Highsides are caused from locking the front brake.

@@igracks i agree in a racing situation, but he was trying to stop and if he would have stayed on the front brake in a straight line he might have stopped, but as soon as u swerve off center u lose the even force of the front shocks, you can trail brake but not full on panic

14:50 #38 The video states there was an injured dog in the car, but never says what the dog's outcome was. It's even more worrying because it's driver was taken away by ambulance. I REALLY hope she was able to have someone she knew pick the dog up to take to a vet.

2:40 Years ago, I called 911 about a dog on the Long Beach (California) freeway. I'd passed the dog at freeway speeds so nothing I could do about it trotting along the shoulder adjacent to a tall brick fence with nowhere to go but straight ahead or into traffic. The stupid 911 person stupidly told 911 was for emergencies only and to call the Long Beach division of the CHP, and then she stupidly hung up on me. (Have I mentioned how stupid she was?) I don't know what happened after that, as I exited the freeway and went on about my day. But I know what _could have_ happened.
