Putting laughing emojis doesn't make sense. Al lost so many cars that probably meant a lot to him and those accidents gave him some injuries. A really really bad case of bad luck.
I am amazed Al's insurance company still kept him 😂
Why wouldn't his insurance company keep him?
In EVERY instance it was someone else's fault. His insurance may pay for rental cars if they need to, but that's minimal compared to the damage the (at fault) driver's insurance companies had to pay.
@@johnc.5657 you must not have used insurance before
@@johnc.5657 Getting in a number of accidents in a relatively short period of time, even when they are not your fault, will get you flagged as a bad driver by most insurance companies.

All I was replying to was why would they even think about dropping Al from their plan... And with the looks of his cars he probably does give them a good amount of money already too.

The truck driver is perfectly in his rights to stay put in the rightmost lane, granted the courteous thing to do would be to slow down or move over but he doesn't have to. By law, the merging drivers have to yield to vehicles on the highway already and do so safely
It’s true you are supposed to yield to the cars on the highway but everyone driving seems to think they have the right to merge just because they have a blinker on. What’s wrong with them??

The Jeep driver was 100% in the wrong there. Completely oblivious to the surroundings, merging slowly without any attention paid, didn't even bother to accelerate to make it a smoothe merge.
Additionally if the trucker had slowed down for the moron, he would've caused a problem for the other merging cars who suddenly have no place to go.

A running theme in all these videos is how ridiculously expensive the tesla repair costs are
Also, a lot of the headaches these owners have to endure finding a place to repair them or wait on parts. It's definitely not a good selling point for Tesla.

14:28 the truck has the right of way and the white car would be at fault for the crash. The Merging cars have to speed up and merge when its safe as they have their own merging lane
Yep, merging traffic is responsible for a safe merge. It is common courtesy to switch lanes to let traffic merge in, but the truck didn't appear to have any room to switch lanes.
All the cars behind the white car are hitting the brakes in the entry lane way before the the incident. You are supposed to hit the gas in the entry lane, if ALL the car are hitting the brakes it means the white car was probably going 60 trying to merge without even being aware

Cars merging on to the freeway have to yield to cars/trucks on the highway. The semi was in the right as he couldn't even move over anyway. The jeep has to yield
Yes
Yes
^
I live near Abbotsford and know that on-ramp well. The Jeep is at fault. Merge means you must match the speed of the flow of traffic and move into an open space. The Jeep did not match the flow to move into the space in front of the truck.
However, it’s equally as dangerous when people treat it as a yield and come to a complete stop.
Semi could have seen that coming and slowed to let them in though.
@@edwardhicks6018 In Europe it is a yield so when I was taking my drivers test thankfully it was in rushour so I spent like 4 out of 20 minutes for the road part of the drivers test stopped at an on ramp due to traffic.

The orangey-red color comes from a layer within the glass panels of the Model 3-you can also see it on the Model 3 here-which is designed to reflect certain wavelengths of light, including UV and others, and reflect the sun's heat away from the interior.
This was my first video i've watched ever since I've been stuck with these videos😊
That dude that saved that dog is a LEGEND!!!!
the people merging are the ones responsible to yield, not the truck driver
100% right. I wish people get that in their thick skulls. The merging traffic is supposed to yield to highway traffic. In New York, yield means don't stop, take your time getting on the highway and cut someone off in doing so.
Normally truck drivers try to move out of the right lane near an on-ramp so traffic can merge easily, but there was no space for such a maneuver. The fact that merging traffic is supposed to yield, and given how heavy a fully-loaded semi is, of course the truck isn't going to slow down. Merging traffic is supposed to speed up to match the speed of existing traffic before merging.
You are very right. My parents were driving my new, at the time GL-550. Someone decided they were not going to look merging and just turned right into our SUV. Luckily the lane on the side of us was not occupied and we took advantage of that. No accident occurred thankfully.
Yea
Yep. While not "courteous" on behalf of the truck driver. Even the merge sign itself is for those "MERGING" on to the highway. Not for traffic to merge with them...

I feel really bad for Al. I can’t imagine having to go through that.
If you’re traveling on the highway in B.C. you don’t yield to people merging from on ramps. It’s up to them to merge when safe.
Same law in the states
Yep, same in the States. I really don't know why people ask the "but who was at fault" in these scenarios.
The truck was doing exactly what is correct, keeping a steady speed so vehicles attempting to merge in can gauge their speed accordingly. And yes, as others have mentioned, in every state that I am aware of it is up to THE MERGING VEHICLE to merge in a safe manner.
@@AZ_HikerBiker yes, the Semi was in the clear in his actions. It's up to the people merging to match speeds with vehicles already on the highway.
Diddo. Already said similar in my comment up-page.
That shovel dodge was nice
The truckdriver at 14:35 is driving as he is supposed to. It's the drivers merging on to the freeway who must do so in a safe manor. The drivers on the freeway does'nt have to do anything to let people merge.
The Semi at ~14:20 was in the right. He as already established in hiss lane, the folks merging onto the highway have to yield.
Correct. Jeep should have sped up to highway speed and merged ahead instead of doing 20-30 below the highway speed. I really hate those people.
@@sekazi OR slowed down and merged in BEHIND the truck.
@@sekazi Agree, most people don't know how to merge, the whole point of the merging lane is to allow to speed up to Hwy speed and grab a spot once at the right speed.
All the cars behind the white car are hitting the brakes in the entry lane way before the the incident. You are supposed to hit the gas in the entry lane, if ALL the car are hitting the brakes it means the white car was probably going 60 trying to merge without even being aware
Agreed. Truck also disnt have room to move into the far left lane so its not like the truck driver was purposely trying to cause an accident. Leon is wrong for saying that.
That semi wasn’t driving aggressively. They are merging so it’s their responsibility to space appropriately. He also has other vehicles on his other side.
Amen!!
Here is the facts i just looked up, you are right Nathaniel.. quote, Here is the fact on Canada merge highway law, the trucker does not have to slow down. If you merge onto highway you must yield to traffic, obviously. (Here's the lane truth: there's no rule that says you have to let in merging drivers. But, it is a nice thing to do if you can, police say. "If you're already in that lane, you're not required by law to let somebody in, but it's obviously a courtesy," says Vancouver Police Const.)
Sorry, not buying it. The Jeep was clearly ahead of the truck when the lane merges. The truck driver forces his way to the front therefore shoving the Jeep over the side of the road. What was the Jeep driver to do? slam his brakes, with all the cars behind him, because the truck driver decided to roar pass him?
That's the way it works in every state I've lived and driven in too...if you're merging, those already in the lane, like the semi, have no obligation to pick up speed or slow down to assist you.
I don't know what it is with merging because it seems most people going down the ramp think " ya I know it is a 100k zone but I'm going to enter it at 80k" and that was what the jeep was doing. It is so easy, Match speed, pick opening, zipper in, but it seems the driver leading the line does not know these simple steps.
Its insane that a 10 m/h accident can be almost 40k!
Thanks Wam Bam Tesla Cam. Love the videos. The truck at 14:35 is not at fault, it is the responsibility of the driver of the vehicle merging to do so responsibly.
2:39 that Fisker looks soo good as well 😫😭😭 Fisker don't even make that no more is the sad thing
Dang, Al. Stay safe out there!
As for the orange glass, I had the same thing happen. I think the earlier models had that & there's a ton of spare glass when they changed design to the smoke color. So they're only dipping into old stock for repairs.
great video this was
The orange tint is normal because they replaced the glass with the old version that came with model 3s from before 2019, they replaced it with old sku
From what I understand, the older glass is much better because it has a UV reflective layer in the glass. It reflects UV and infrared. They stopped using it because it's more expensive.
@@floridasunshine330 I lack expertise in optics, but the water-to-glass interface has a lot to do with it also, I think. While rinsing off a friend's Model 3 during a backyard car-washing, I was quite taken with the luridly orange flare over the top glass.
@@levenkay4468 Yeah but that only happens on the older glass. Like the poster said, Tesla stopped using it. I'm not sure if the new glass is less UV reflective or they just changed it to avoid the color.
That last clip almost sounds like an attempted insurance fraud. One driver stays alongside you so you can't swerve, another finds a chance to stop short so you hit them. Glad they managed to get around the Hondas
Definitely insurance scam.
Should be reported to police. I am sure that car was in an accident, just not with that Tesla. Criminals still gotta get paid.
The tesla could've done a pit maneuver
Haha just joking!
It's crazy how people are smart enough to know you need big cash to own a Tesla, but stupid enough to forget they have cameras everywhere.
Also small world we live in, eh?
As to why people insist on trying to mess with a Tesla is beyond me. Giant dash cams on wheels, superior manuverability, and instant torque that will erase any average street chugger. Even the sportier guzzlers will have a rough time with a Tesla
On the Kennesaw, GA video, that's right by where I used to work, and I drove through that intersection on the way to and from work every day. The light the tesla was waiting on can take an absolute eternity and was very short on the green in that direction while very long for the main road there, US 41. I would often sit through three to four light cycles during rush hour after work lol.
6:15 "Umbrella Corporation"
Had me rofl
Albert Wesker must have been pissed
The truck driver was not at fault with the merging traffic, as it is their responsibility to find their own space onto the freeway. That front vehicle had plenty of time to speed up and get in front of the semi, and the one behind him should have gotten behind it. There was plenty of room for everyone.
Agree, but i feel like the biggest idiot here was the car next to the truck, hogging the passing lane. They could have sped up, let the truck switch lanes and this way the people could have merged. At least where i’m from that’s the general rule tou have to follow to avoid accidents like this
There is a longer version of that clip the HGV driver was been aggressive at keeping in his lane, but legally he is in the right if drivers on a slip road can't get upto 60 mph to merge safely they shouldn't be driving

Concerning this accident, generally speaking it is the responsibility of the merging traffic to find a gap to merge. The traffic that is in the lane already has the right of way. However, the truck driver should still be held responsible for causing this accident. This is because CDL drivers must abide by additional set of rules. The THINK concept that all CDL drivers are taught to uphold lists a number of principles to ensure the safest operation of heavy vehicles on the road. One of such principles is "Leave yourself an out." This means that a CDL driver must ensure there is always a gap that would allow for either adequate braking distance or a way for a truck driver to swerve away from a potential accident. Clearly this truck driver completely and (what's worse) intentionally disregarded this principle. The THINK concept has been actually enforced by the court system in the past. @@vladvoznyuk well there was no "accident" the car swerved before a collision occurred. You also didn't explain what you would do differently, brake hard? accelerate? people getting on the highway need to pay attention, plus smaller vehicles can more easily modulate their speed. @@TheRealSykx, my apologies. I could quite tell if there way any contact for sure. It looked to me like there was.
If I were in place of that truck driver, I would have slowed down way before I found myself in this situation. This brings me to another principle of the THINK concept that was neglected here: “Anticipate traffic changes half-a-mile ahead.” This means that, if a truck driver sees red brake lights ahead, he must slow down to ensure proper stopping distance way in advance!Because we sit so high up in our seat, we can easily observe the traffic far ahead. This truck driver ignored this principle as well and, therefore, is without excuse.
By the way, I’ve done exactly what I preach. Sometimes I had to slow down to a standstill if that’s what it took in the name of safety. Most importantly, I always came home in one piece and clear conscience that I didn’t hurt anyone.

Love’d the intro
I don't think that semi was at fault. The people merging are responsible for getting up to speed and finding an opening. If he had slowed down, he'd have impacted everyone already on the road.
Look at that clip-there are 2 cars to the left blocking the semi driver in. He might've slowed down, but it looks like he was already going slower than the cars around him. Slowing down here would just cause a back-up behind him, maybe a rear-end collision or 2, and an issue with the NEXT cars to merge. A fully-laden truck takes a LOT longer to slow down, and then a lot longer to speed up again afterwards. And, on the entrance ramp, I see 3 cars bunched-up together. Not one of these drivers is merging properly. The Jeep just pulled-in while the truck was passing him. If we're handing out tickets for all the bad driving I'm seeing here on this clip, it would only be for those 3 cars merging from the right. Everybody else is driving properly and legally.
It seems like a lot of people here don't know squat about traffic laws....

Another principle states "Anticipate traffic changes half-a-mile ahead." This means that, if a truck driver sees red brake lights ahead, he must slow down and (again) ensure proper stopping distance. Because we sit so high up in our seat, we can see over the cars far ahead. This truck driver ignored this also. The THINK concept has been actually enforced by the court system in the past. Therefore, there is a precedent to charge this truck driver with being at fault in this accident.
My personal opinion that truck drivers like this should have their CDL privileges revoked. An 18-wheeler is a potential weapon on the road (especially if HAZMAT is involved). All CDL drivers must be exceptionally defensive drivers under all circumstances. I think there should be zero tolerance for reckless behavior on part of any CDL holder. We should know better.
deaccelerate!? OH THE HORROR!
9:47, Im pretty sure that isn't a Mercedes, It's a Genesis.
I thought the same thing as well. I said out loud,”THATS NOT A MERCEDES, that’s a Hyundai!” 🤣😂

from where I'm from, there's a law prohibiting giving room for merging traffic in a highway - changing lanes or braking would generate just additional risk - compared to the effort of merging traffic to adjust their speed/merging to the highway traffic.
Yep. This.
While it's not prohibited in BC, Canada the highway traffic act definitely does not require letting people merge in. They have to match the speed of traffic.
It's most certainly not the case in the US. There is no law prohibiting anyone from slowing down or merging away from merging traffic.
I am a CDL holder since 2013. I also used to drive an 18-wheeler for a few years before pursuing a different career.

I call bullshit on that.
And I seriusly question the driving skill to anyone who maintains the 2 minute deacceleration of 5mph is such a hazzard.
Keeping the speed minnum while shouting "right of way" is seriusly a shitty driving culture.

14:30 The truck driver has no requirement to yield to merging traffic. It is that traffics responsibility to do that safely. Try all you want, the trucker is not guilty of anything.
He most definitely is guilty of being a inconsiderate prick that’s for sure

In regards to the Abbotsford, BC one, that's my hometown and I can say from experience that section of the highway is always like that, you kinda have to merge onto the highway at a slightly slower speed, and just speed up better once you're on, that section of town/the highway always has big trucks and the big trucks don't like letting people on for the most part.
6:16 damn umbrella corporation 🤣🤣🤣
Omg, story of the guy "AL" was hilarious! What the hell is going on that guy? Damn.. And, he is lucky to have that much money to replace that many teslas, even car hauler wrecked on it's way while it was carrying his newly builded Tesla! That is unbelievable!

I rarely say this, but I LOVE the music you use to accompany these videos.
Highway traffic does t need to yield to merging traffic. Merging traffic has to yield to highway traffic (at least in my state).
So the Semi truck driver isn't being aggressive, merging traffic is not paying attention.
Agreed no need to change lanes or change speed.
I have to disagree with you concerning the truck driver. Let me explain...

Love this channel, I’ve been watching since the Stockholm vid where that crazy Chrysler was swerving and being crazy. Btw I’m part of the discord server.
Thanks for including your narration as text, it is extremely helpful :).
In Hungary, we mostly use Hazard lights when theres a comlete stop on higway or any other. Just not to crash into any other!
Truck drivers in America are taught this. Car drivers aren’t taught much
I got my class A license and even the DMV handbook said that the semi truck had the right away because merging traffic has to yield. When they teach you in trucking school they also tell you to not slow down for merging traffic cause you will cause an accident for braking when the flow of traffic is going at a certain pace. Also to anyone that haven't drive a semi truck should know that when the truck is fully loaded at around 80,000 lbs, don't expect it to brake on a dime. It will not be able to brake before plowing you off the freeway, so don't cutoff semi trucks if you want to live.
