That's definitely going big. Semi load a day. That's some work being done as well. Glad we get the tour to
Yup. sure is!
Nice review of a professional firewood drying operation Chris. Impressive operation so far. Big box store firewood explained. GNI
Yup, more than you can imagine goes into it.
That’s a lot of money, but the reward is greater. It’s good to have a stable market.
Yup!

One of the best videos. Good job
Wow, thanks!
Amazing operation and thanks for bringing it us. I promote the natural, ambient atmospheric dried approach because it’s all I got. Hey Chris, maybe that company will give you one to tryout and do a review vid on. 😆
I would gladly accept a kiln...send it!
Good morning Chris!!😀😀
Hello Al!
Great tease for tomorrow!!
Yup!
WOiW1We have a guy here in town has a kiln, as he sells firewood out of state. He often times will dry lumber for certain mills in the area as well. Pretty amazing stuff for sure, thanks for sharing!
Oh wow!
I worked for a guy the last 2 years and we packed almost a semi load every day as well for simple Simon the company who supplies gas stations like speedway and seven eleven’s
Nice!
Great job Chris, thank you..
Thanks for watching!

MAKE BUNDLED FIREWOOD GREAT AGAIN!!!
YES!!!
Nice kilns and setup!
Yup, thanks!
That’s awesome!
Yup!
If he can 675 face cords a month at $2500 in propane. That is $3.70 per face cord cost for drying, which isnt that bad.🤠
I have talked to several sawmill folks over the years that wanted absolutely nothing to do with kilns. The amount of dollars it takes to fill one with green lumber to risk having it catch fire, mold, warp, crack from drying to slow or fast is a real crap shoot. This wouldn't be near the issue loading them with firewood. Can't wait to see his processing set up!👍
Yup, cool stuff!
Great content
thanks!
Quarantine states require the wood is heat treated and approved by the state if you plan to sell your wood out of state.
ok
Hi Chris very nice wow Ty Ron
Thanks!
Amazing!👍👍
Yup!
Chris...Never knew there was such a market for bundled firewood. I guess in the cities where people don't heat for wood but simply ambiance bundled wood will sell. Not sure what a full cord of bundled wood goes for but I'll bet your customers would poop if you told them that is what you were charging! Really enjoy this information!!
Here are some realistic numbers ....there are about 40 bundles in a face cord (1/3 of a cord for those of you who have laws about what you can and can't use for words) So 3 face cords or one full cord has 120 bundles or so ....at $7 each retail is $840 I sell a full cord for $360!!!
Big bucks on those kilns. Those parts bin are used for car parts in Michigan.
They are used for food production (vegatables) too.
Southeastern installation Incorporated
Thanks for the info!!!!!
Kiln dried firewood goes for $2000 full cord delivered here in Senoia Georgia. Big bucks to be made.
Wow!
I burn alot of Kiln dried Oak and Maple mill ends from a furniture making shop 😊
Sounds great!
👍👍👍
Thanks!!!
He mentioned the Natural gas bill. He did not say what the electric bill was.. now got to add those together $$$. I bet that adds up to a pretty penny .
Write off
Way less than diesel fuel. Do you think he got where he is selling 500,000 bundles a year being dumb???
wrong...production cost
@@InTheWoodyard well yes it is a production cost but a write off the gross. You know what I mean.
Here in Ohio I know a couple guys the boiler for the kilns runs of of wood chips.
Yup, I have heard about those too.
🎉
Thanks!
Thats quite a nice operation.
Is Phil going to take notes? 😁
Yup!
You all should!
@@InTheWoodyard Looks like the only thing he has not figured a way to maximize profit from stump to delivery is the monthly gas bill, maybe a scrap woodfired kiln?🤔😁
Hello everyone
Hello!
Good Morning Woodhounds!!
Hello!
Processors next? Im in. See you in the morning
Yup, tomorrow!
I got a rough quote for one of those kilns recently and it was 250k
Yup. Sounds about right!
I got curious by your question as to what temperature firewood will combust so I looked it up. it is 300 degrees C or 572 degrees F. Just some trivia for you.
Thanks, I like it!
Serious money invested into that operation!!
Yup, it takes serious money time effort talent and work to make serious money.
Is kiln dried easier to split with a smaller splitter
No.... if wood dries it shrinks and the pores close up, tightens up and the wood is harder to split...but if it is dry why would you need to split it ??? Smaller for stove?
Shoprite supermarket in New Jersey has bundles imported from Europe. How can it be profitable shipping it from Europe?
No idea but it would not happen if it was not.
Good morning Chris, Kiln dry firewood is costly but nice I guess. Chris are you attending the HFH 24 in Indiana with Mike KNL Firewood?
Yup, I will be there and I will be wearing a party dress!
@@InTheWoodyard oh boy Chris that would get couple million hits on RUclips ha
Wood a wood fired boiler heat the same way? Probably cut the cost of fuel to nothing as you would burn your own wood?
Yes but a lot more work and time.
I don’t see fuel prices going down you may be up to 10k a month 😂
Mine is not a hobbie but I sure can’t afford all that .
Make it happen if you want it.
Why not use a wood fueld kilm? These places have a lot of wood waste.
Not enough wood waste.
I wonder what his profit is per bundle. It can’t be but a dollar or 2
You would be surprised.
sorry but I just have to pick on your mind,
how many acres of firewood would it take for an operation like this to be self supplying and not run out
A lot!! Good thing trees are renewable
300 to 400 acres per yer
A lot. Trees never stop reproducing and growing.
yup!
Sounds fair.
So glad i don't get his gas bill 😱
I wish I had his gas bill times 100 because that would mean I have built a booming business and am doing very very well.
No Chris you can’t have a Kiln 😊
Yes I can ...if I want one.
Chris did you get my email and address for the hat, if not please send me another way, to get a hat, I seam to be having troubles sending to you, I've sent twice now may be 3 times. JUDY thanks
Sorry Judy! No, I just looked again...something must be wrong... make sure it is this chrisinthewoodyard@gmail.com
