Great video showing a large operation 👍 That guy in the multi tec must be the happiest man in Wisconsin. Splitting, skidsteering all day sounds like heaven to me 😊
Great series Chris, awesome that Jesse let you film and walk you through his operation. Happy bug in a rug living his dream out. Thank you for all the hard work and videos. Good Night Irene. 👍🏻👍🏻
Great video Chris. American entrepreneurship at a high level with someone who isn’t afraid to work and puts his money where his mouth is. Makes me feel good to know there are still folks like that. GNI
Thanks Chris. They advertise on Market place for the Chunk wood. I have been tempted to go get a few Trailer loads. I wonder if multitek still has the Phone/Sound system I installed many years ago ??
Thanks for letting us have a look into how firewood is really done! I wonder how much work the snow removal is in the winter time? Especially during normal winters when the yard is filled up with swamp wood. I would think finding somewhere for all the snow could be interesting.
What’s the typical length do they cut fire wood to? 16-18” For us that don’t have a processor and other then the zip tie on the saw, what’s the easiest way to cut it to the right length each time?
Love it...was wondering if it might be ok to ask Jessie if he knows a family by the name of Kuney that may live there. Been 58 years since i've seen them. Laid up for years now. Just wondering if he came across the last name. Would appreciate it. Tried on computer but they want big bucks I can't afford. Great vids lately. Thank you.
Always love the videos Chris, funny how much I enjoy these videos even though my business model is completely different only sell about 100 cord a year, of that only produce maybe 15% myself rest is resale. Low volume high dollar is the best way in my area no one down here burns for heat.
If I could quit my job today and do everything involving wood working. Saw mill. Selling wood. And sellling my wood projects. I would. The problem is that I wouldn’t have insurance. It’s a hard gig
Around here the only bundled wood for sale is the cut off bark pieces from saw mills. This was one of my favorite field trips. Saw blade on for ten years. Incredible operation.
This one employee is loading and processing into to a pile one cord of wood in slightly less than 20 minutes avergage for the entire year and this includes time to police stack and clean work area of waste and byproduct with very little phisical exertion and fatigue, As said by the President played by Bill Pullman in the Movie Independence Day "Not Bad" Ray Stormont PS with numbers supplied by owner during filming cost to split and dry wood for gas and electric (consumables) expenses are less than $1.44 per cord! Again "Not Bad" PSS His costs for lumber after he got into logging after sales to mills for pulp and sawable lumber not suitable for his firewood processes was $0.00-$6.00 per cord, Another "Not Bad" PSSS As stated he bundles and loads his product with 2-6 additional employees adjusted seasonaly, Guess what another "Not Bad" This is what is possible with verticle intergration optimized for production and low mfg. costs even for a small company. Great job of making the most of ones I'm assuming internally generated capital resources.
Man, Chris. I realize we are all at different levels of production, but have you gotten to the point of "i am just a small fry" with these companies..😉👍 Regardless impressive amount of production, you both do.
I get asked all the time about the saw dust and wood waste...not enough even for him to spend time or effort on it. We just want it to go away for the most part.
Another new one the kiln dried firewood semi loads thanks Chris catching up
Hope you enjoy them all! Thanks for watching!!
Thanks Chris for taking us along for this wonderful interview. Keep on cutting
Thank you more on their operation logging next week!

Wow after watching all 3 episodes. Truly an efficient operation.

Great mini series Chris- Good Job 👍
Glad you enjoyed it, more to come next week.
Thanks for letting us have a look into how firewood is really done! I wonder how much work the snow removal is in the winter time? Especially during normal winters when the yard is filled up with swamp wood. I would think finding somewhere for all the snow could be interesting.
Good question! I am sure he has it down pat like everything else there.

Thanks!!!
Makes u wonder where all that wood comes from ❤
The forest. Northern Wisconsin is mostly woods.
What’s the typical length do they cut fire wood to? 16-18”
For us that don’t have a processor and other then the zip tie on the saw, what’s the easiest way to cut it to the right length each time?
16" a zip tie works great! I just shot another video showing it. Out soon!
hi there good show .best to all john
Thanks, you too!
Thank you.
Good question?
Impressive work lay out
Yes, thanks.
Did he say he had a tree company are a logging operation didn't catch that part two processors
He has his own logging equipment. You can see it working on some of the other videos here.
That's a fast processor. No choice, it has to be.2 truck loads a day. One guy. Impressive to say the least.
Yup, master operator too!
Does anyone else feel inadequate. 😂. Great series!!!
Before this guy appeared, Chris was making me feel like that already.
Welcome to the small fry club 🤣
I hoped to show people what is possible. I think some times we all think too small.
You are doing fine Daniel, exercise and solitude outside is a big part of what we all enjoy and benefit from.
This guy knows how to produce.
yup!
Quite the operation
Yup.
Chris what money wise do you think they do in sales ????
I would say they do pretty well but it's non of my business.
Always love the videos Chris, funny how much I enjoy these videos even though my business model is completely different only sell about 100 cord a year, of that only produce maybe 15% myself rest is resale. Low volume high dollar is the best way in my area no one down here burns for heat.
Glad you like them! Keep cuttin'!
Impressive. Most impressive.
Yup!
Great video. Gave me a good case of toilet ring on the rear. 😂
Now to the Axis Tonto! Hi yo Silver and awaaay!
Did your legs go numb too??
Yes, my legs stay numb as well as my mind. Lol
@@grantsinclair4278 same here!
Do we get to see the logging process ?
Yup, I was there all day yesterday! You will see it next week!
If I could quit my job today and do everything involving wood working. Saw mill. Selling wood. And sellling my wood projects. I would.
The problem is that I wouldn’t have insurance. It’s a hard gig
Start small and make it happen...if you want it you can do it.
Awesome vid Chris
Glad you enjoyed it!
That machine is fast. Lots of wood for their process too.
Yup!
Hundreds and thousands in 🔥 that's what I'm talking about
Yup, lots of wood!
Good morning all!
Good morning!
What % does he resplit for bundles
From what I saw...very little. A guess 5-10%??
Why doesn't he use his cookies/scrap/kindling/sawdust/bark/etc. in a boiler heat his kilns?
Not worth the trouble and the gas is cheap, efficient and easy.
Is that a 5 acre rock pad?
There is a lot of gravel for sure!
Before you know it, Bert has a few ideas for what to build.
Haaa!
Very cool setup.. If your looking for another Multitek i have one for sale..
Why are you selling it?? Upgrade, make switch quitting production???
@InTheWoodyard trying to aquire the 60c
@@buckinfirewood nice! EMAIL me at chrisinthewoodyard@gmail.com and we might be able to show pictures on a video for you to advertise it for you????
@InTheWoodyard thanks Chris I really appreciate this.. I sent you a bunch of pics and a link to the video of us running it
Multi-Tech is the right machine to use......The claw is amazing...I always thought eastonmade was the best but the obviously aren't
They both make great machines, yes the claw is a great feature.
Somewhere in his career he had that conversation with himself and said I'm done messing around.
Yup!
Just wondering why the don't cut their logs for no waste if the are cutting them down figuring kerf of blade in
industry standard length pieces for packaging and standard log length for efficient/legal hauling.
Those scraps can be turned into valuable biochar
Yup...IF you can find a buyer!
That is awesome!
Yup, it is that!
Awesome video. "I like it allot"
Thanks!
Is there no video today?
Every day!
He sure has a nice set up and you are right the ash is going to soon be gone forever.
Yup and yup!
Quite the interesting operation, far cry from a chainsaw and a splitting maul.
Yup, all it takes is lots of brains, time, effort and focus for decades.
Around here the only bundled wood for sale is the cut off bark pieces from saw mills.
This was one of my favorite field trips. Saw blade on for ten years.
Incredible operation.
Yup, it sure was that!

Yup, all in all "not bad"!
That's some outfit they got going there.
Yup!
👍👍👍
Thanks!
Good Morning Woodhounds!!
Hello!
Man, Chris. I realize we are all at different levels of production, but have you gotten to the point of "i am just a small fry" with these companies..😉👍
Regardless impressive amount of production, you both do.
I am just a guy with a saw. That's all.
One person must be employed just to take care of all the paperwork.
Maybe so??
I see smaller then 4 inch
okay?
Bedding for cows 🐄
I get asked all the time about the saw dust and wood waste...not enough even for him to spend time or effort on it. We just want it to go away for the most part.
Impressive
Yup!
Crickey that guy must run out of forests rapidly thats eating some wood and fast!!..
My brother sent logs to a paper mill for 35 years and they used 1000 log cords A DAY!
I bet you could break it.😂
Yup, I am a pro!
I would ask for a part time job just to get free reject fire wood !
Ha! Yup!
