    Some folks here might know what mudloggers do, they look at the drill cuttings that come to the surface while drilling oil wells, so that you know what formation you're drilling through, and especially when you've entered the reservoir. I did it for a while. I remember logging a well on the Bruce reservoir and for some reason we were doing this almost from the sea surface. And at about 1000 ft below the sea surface we drilling through... shell debris, not fossilized, it still had an iridescent sheen. And thinking to myself, "well that certainly didn't get laid down 10 million years ago!".

    • @plainsman
      @plainsman Год назад

      Scientifically vacuous nonsense. The most common process of fossilization happens when an animal is buried by sediment, such as sand or silt, shortly after it dies. Its bones are protected from rotting by layers of sediment. As its body decomposes all the fleshy parts wear away and only the hard parts, like bones, teeth, and horns, are left behind. Over millions of years, water in the nearby rocks surrounds these hard parts, and minerals in the water replace them, bit by bit. When the minerals have completely replaced the organic tissue, what's left is a solid rock copy of the original specimen.

      Have your considered the fact that the ocean floor has thousands of fracture zones that follow the mid ocean ridges and emanate from that Catastrophic Scar perpendicular to that scar and many of those fractures run from shore to shore, continent to continent and are caused by fact that the earth is a globe, not a cylinder and therefore as the major fracture of the scar traveled around the earth, it also fractured out from the main fracture to relieve the pressure laterally. There is zero evidence of those fracture zones being deformed, or subsequently disfigured. Also, if the crust had been replaced subsequently to the initial main, Catastrophic Scar fracture, it should have healed without the lesser fracture zones, as the pressure had already been relieved by the initial catastrophe. The new floor would just flow smoothly across without fractures emanating again from the main scar.

    • @plainsman
      @plainsman 6 месяцев назад

      The flood story is FILLED with hyperbole that would have been recognized by its ancient audience as a figurative description of an event in order to produce an effect and make a theological point, and NOT an example of ancient journalism or accurate science.
      And the Hydroplate theory? SERIOUSLY?
      How was the water contained? Rock, at least the rock which makes up the earth's crust, doesn't float. The water would have been forced to the surface long before Noah's time, or Adam's time for that matter.
      Even a mile deep, the earth is boiling hot, and thus the reservoir of water would be superheated. Further heat would be added by the energy of the water falling from above the atmosphere. As with the vapor canopy model, Noah would have been poached.
      Where is the evidence? The escaping waters would have eroded the sides of the fissures, producing poorly sorted basaltic erosional deposits. These would be concentrated mainly near the fissures, but some would be shot thousands of miles along with the water. (Noah would have had to worry about falling rocks along with the rain.) Such deposits would be quite noticeable but have never been seen.

    • @plainsman
      @plainsman Год назад

      ICR are laughable hacks. Any global flood would have produced evidence contrary to the evidence we see. How do you explain the relative ages of mountains? For example, why weren't the Sierra Nevadas eroded as much as the Appalachians during the Flood? Why is there no evidence of a flood in ice core series? Ice cores from Greenland have been dated back more than 40,000 years by counting annual layers, and the Vostok Antarctic cores go back 420,000 years. A worldwide flood would be expected to leave a layer of sediments, noticeable changes in salinity and oxygen isotope ratios, fractures from buoyancy and thermal stresses, a hiatus in trapped air bubbles, and probably other evidence. Why doesn't such evidence show up? How are the polar ice caps even possible? Such a mass of water as the Flood would have provided sufficient buoyancy to float the polar caps off their beds and break them up. They wouldn't regrow quickly. In fact, the Greenland ice cap would not regrow under modern (last 10,000 yrs) climatic conditions. Why did the Flood not leave traces on the sea floors? A year long flood should be recognizable in sea bottom cores by (1) an uncharacteristic amount of terrestrial detritus, (2) different grain size distributions in the sediment, (3) a shift in oxygen isotope ratios (rain has a different isotopic composition from seawater), (4) a massive extinction. Why do none of these show up? Why is there no evidence of a flood in tree ring dating? Tree ring records go back more than 12,000 years, with no evidence of a catastrophe during that time.

      Seems far more plausible that many cultures experienced different local floods. -- which their ancestors assumed engulfed the whole world. The stories of those different localized floods became of the the origin story of each tribe.
      This process is very analogous to different tribe each coming up with stories about gods... but each tribe's pantheon is different than the pantheon of the gods of the next tribe.

There is no way that Noah could only save his family of 8, the only humans the only humans on Earth is inane and incestuous at best! And some animals, certainly not two of every species of animals, they would have eaten each other in the ark! It is simply a story that has little truth in basis! Just like, Jonah was never swallowed by a whale, who has a small throat, it was probably a large grouper that took him into its mouth and spit him out, a normal practice of fish to see if it's something they want to swallow. And Lazaras did not die and come to life, nor did Jesus; they were both no doubt in a coma and then returned to consciousness.
      The Bible has many stories that were written with a purpose in mind, to induce humans to learn good from evil and behave better, and if it did, good and if those stories will still help people to behave themselves, probably out of fear, so much the better, whatever works!

      Walt Brown was a joke - just like his impossible hydroplate theory:
      1. The rock that makes up the earth's crust does not float. The water would have been forced to the surface long before Noah's time, or before Adam's time for that matter.
      2. Even two miles deep, the earth is boiling hot (260 to 270 degrees C at 5.656 miles in one bore hole), and thus the reservoir of water would be superheated. Further heat would be added by the energy of the water falling from above the atmosphere. As with the vapor canopy model, Noah would have been poached.
      3. The escaping waters would have eroded the sides of the fissures, producing poorly sorted basaltic erosional deposits. These would be concentrated mainly near the fissures, but some would be shot thousands of miles along with the water. Such deposits would be quite noticeable but have never been seen.

Even today reptiles grow their entire lives, imagine reptiles that lived for hundreds of years before the flood. They would have been monsters. Also, consider how similar "dragons" and "dinosaurs" are: terrifying gigantic lizards that laid eggs. Every language has a word for dragons. Once you realize that dinosaurs are actually dragons and you start to research, you'll find loads of evidence that men and dragons (dinosaurs) did live at the same time. We're no where near as warm as it was 1200-1400 years ago when there was little to manmade industrial pollution. We also have volcanic records that go back centuries and our volcanic activity has dropped off significantly over the past 100 years. This directly affects how warm our climate is because volcanic activity cools the climate. Also, volcanic activity injects aerosols and other carbons (like CO2) into the atmosphere which is why the planet cools. They seem to conveniently leave this part out of the models. It's actually been proven now that CO2 actually cools the atmosphere, not the other way around. Unfortunately the media continues to only publish information from scientists who are paid by their respective governments to promote a political agenda. The problem is that there are real serious concerns for our current world if we continue to ignore actual science when it comes to climate.

    There are many cultural stories and scriptures of different faiths that outline a great flood or many great flood stories. The Genesis story is not unique. There were various great planetary cataclysms and some caused huge floods in various parts of the world. See the words of Graham Hancock, he explains it all in very clear terms and scientifically without scripture of any faith tradition. This presentation pull from some of those events tying Biblical references to them. This was all part of the evolution of the planet. The Bible is a useful book but the stories are mostly metaphors and often borrowed from other cultures and scriptures. The bible should be read not as history but as symbolic and as a moral guide, ie the gospels. Most Christian do not even know the history for the circumstance of the creation of the bible. If told they would deny anything they were told. Tragic because that keeps us in ignorance.

      @drjohnny8237 Год назад

      Sorry you had to wait so long. Just now found this video and read the comments. Answer to your last question is Genesis 9:3 - "Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs." That is the place in Holy Scriptures where God gave man PERMISSION to kill and eat animals. This is after Noah, his family, and all the animals get off the Ark after the flood waters recede.
      The first animal death I can find recorded is Genesis 3:21 where God made tunics of skin to clothe Adam and Eve after they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil after being deceived by the serpent early in chapter 3. This is known as the "fall of man" and God then pronounces judgment on Adam, Eve, the serpent, and all creation later in chapter 3. Romans 8:22 comments on this saying "the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now." as a result of Adam and Eve's disobedience and resulting judgment.
      We know from Genesis 4 that Adam's son, Abel, was bringing the firstborn of his flock as an offering to God so animal death continued to occur after the fall of man. Shortly after that, the first murder is recorded when Cain killed his brother Abel out of jealousy. Genesis 6 describes how evil man had become, which is why God chose to send a worldwide flood to destroy "all flesh in which is the breath of life". While the Bible does not state explicitly when man started eating animals, we do know that was not God's intent and that was probably a small part of the evilness of man.
      That takes me to your question about seeds. By God's definition, plants don't die since they are not flesh and do not have the breath of life in them.
      If you have other questions, I highly recommend a visit to the Ark Encounter in Williamstown, KY. It is a Biblically scaled Noah's ark loaded with teaching to answer almost any questions you might have. I would love to have you be my guest at the Ark. I can provide you with a free pass for you and a guest. I will just need your names and an email address. Reading Genesis chapters 1 through 11 would also be a great investment of your time.
      The purpose of the Ark was to save Noah, whom God found to be righteous, his family, and 2 to 14 representatives of Biblical animal kinds to replenish the earth after the flood. Salvation from the flood was also available to any other people who chose to enter the Ark before God closed the door in Genesis 7:16. No one besides Noah's family chose to enter the Ark of Salvation and all of them perished in the world-wide flood. The Bible teaches there is another judgment coming. And just like the flood of Noah, God is providing a way to escape judgment. This time it is through the sacrificial death of His Son, Jesus Christ on the cross on Good Friday and His glorious resurrection on Easter. Everyone has the opportunity, but everyone has to make a choice. Just like with the flood, there will come a time when it will be too late. No one but God knows when this judgment will come. However, it was about 2000 year from Creation to the Flood, about 2000 years from the Flood to Jesus' resurrection, and about 2000 years from his resurrection until today. The clock is ticking. If you would like more information on what accepting Jesus' free gift of salvation looks like, I would be glad to share that with you or anyone else who is interested.

      Baugh was a "Dr" of nothing. His educational claims came from either nonexistent schools or unaccredited Bible schools. Supposed human tracks have involved a variety of phenomena, including metatarsal dinosaur tracks, erosional features, and carvings. The largest number of "man tracks" are forms of elongate, metatarsal dinosaur tracks, made by bipedal dinosaurs that sometimes impressed their metatarsi (heels and soles) as they walked. When the digit impressions of such tracks are subdued by mud-backflow or secondary infilling, a somewhat human shape often results. Other alleged "man tracks" including purely erosional features (often selectively highlighted to encourage human shapes), indistinct marks of undetermined origin, and a smaller number of doctored and carved tracks (most of the latter occurring on loose blocks of rock).

      Aside from the fact that Baugh was a Dr. of nothing (his alleged degrees were from imaginary colleges and one unaccredited bible college) those "footprints" were baloney. Although genuine dinosaur tracks are abundant in Texas, claims of human tracks have not withstood close scientific scrutiny, and in recent years have been largely abandoned even by most creationists. Alleged Paluxy "man tracks" involve a variety of spurious phenomena, including metatarsal dinosaur tracks, erosional features, and indistinct markings of unknown origin.

    1. The most common date given for the flood is 4400 years ago, right in the middle of the Egyptians first burst of city and temple building, why did they not notice they were under water?
    2. To flood the planet to over top the highest mountain you would need about 3 to 4 times the known amount of water in the world, where did all that water come from?
    3. After the flood, where did the water go?
    4. How did 8 people build a wooden ship bigger than any wooden ship built in modern times when THAT ship was reinforced with steel bracing and still broke up and sank.
    5. How did animals with odd diets get to the ark?
    6. How did 8 people deal with the needs of 10000 animals on the ark? Each animal had to be fed, watered, exercised and the poop scooped. Working 12 hours a day they would need to deal with over 100 animals per hour.
    7. If there were 10000 animals on the ark representing about 4000 species, and there is now about 8.7 million species on Earth, each species surviving the flood would have to generate 217 new species in the 4400 years since the flood.
    8. If there were 10000 animals on the ark representing about 4000 species, and there is now about 8.7 million species on Earth, each species surviving the flood would have to generate 217 new species in the 4400 years since the flood.
    9. Well according to the Book of Jasher, the wives ARE sisters. Jasher 5: 32-35 "And thou shalt choose for thy sons three maidens, from the daughters of men, and they shall be wives to thy sons. And Noah rose up, and he made the ark, in the place where God had commanded him, and Noah did as God had ordered him. In his five hundred and ninety-fifth year Noah commenced to make the ark, and he made the ark in five years, as the Lord had commanded. Then Noah took the three daughters of Eliakim, son of Methuselah, for wives for his sons, as the Lord had commanded Noah." If a species undergoes a population bottleneck, the lack of genetic diversity can be seen in the members of that species. NO such bottle neck exists in the overwhelming majority of species.
    10. 4400 years is not a long enough time to generate the diversity in the human population to give rise to the different populations of people we see on the planet especially when you consider that effectively the genetic diversity was limited to 4 people, Noah and his wife and Eliakim and his wife.
    11. Ken Ham's phony Ark has a million Dollar + heating, ventilation and air conditioning system that ensures that workers and visitors do not suffocate in the building. According to the bible, the original Ark had one window, 18 in square. Sorry people but if Ham's estimate of 1600 species represented by a minimum of 4000 animals, they would have suffocated.
    12. There is NO trace of any global flood in the geology of the world. Lots of local and regional floods, yes, but NO global flood.
    13. Oh and by the way, for those fools at CMI who think Noah's Flood was a real event, a Tomb has been discovered in Egypt dated to 4400 years ago, about the time of the mythical flood (according to many biblical creationists). This raises several questions.
    a. If the Tomb was built before the flood, how did it escape being flooded?
    b. If the Tomb was built after the flood, the Earth's population would have been devistated so who built the tomb?
    c. Why is this Tomb perfectly in line with Egyptian culture before and after the fairy tale flood? If everybody in Egypt were killed in the flood, the Egyptian culture from before the flood would have been lost.

      I can’t answer all your objections, but I’ll start with the major one - the timeline.
      The Septuagint (the greek translation of the OT from 250bc) has a different genealogical timeline than the Catholic/Protestant one. It places the flood around 4000BC which provides just enough time for the survivors to grow numerous enough to build the Tower of Babel and then found the earliest civilizations - Sumer, Egypt, and Indus River - around 3100bc which is around when they were thought to have started.

    • @abel3557
      @abel3557 10 месяцев назад

      @@mdl2427 There are no "cold" slabs of rock. There are massive ancient "graveyards" of continental slabs due to the hot and viscous mantle and dense rocks causing plate subduction.
      In addition, your first question revolves around the model of a uniform mantle( even layers of the earth as shown in school diagrams) when that's not what it looks like.
      In real models, we know there are areas of depression and deep magma channels, leading to certain areas being hotter.
      The subduction of plates usually creates a pocket which may be of lower temperature than the average temperature of most of the mantle, but it's not a large difference.

    • @abel3557
      @abel3557 10 месяцев назад

      @@mdl2427 These ancient plates won't fuse with the core because they don't go anywhere near the core. The core is a hyper dense area, and materials of larger densities generally sink. And this sinking is stopped at the center of mass of the earth. Gravity holds things in place, hence why the dense core is ball shaped.
      What you need to understand is that these ancient plates are different materials from the mantle and core, and they're far less dense than the core.
      Oceanic plates however, are dense enough to subduct into the mantle.
      Our continents are too "buoyant due to low density, and they don't subduct into the upper mantle.
