"This is where I started, I think it's important to remember where you came from" RESPECT! I enjoy all of your videos and I have been following you for maybe 4 years now. God Bless you & your family!
I've been watching for about 2 years and I've probably washed my car like 5 times in that time frame. Idk why I like watching Matt detail cars and explain everything but I love it
@@ryan-cl3ko most definitely i paid 7k for mine with 140k two years ago. Ive put probably less than 1k on it. Its definitely not a lot out that are in good shape.
I use that same ego blower for my truck, and for the lawn... best part about the ego line is that all their products are so quiet....could mow the lawn at night and not wake up anyone...and it even has friken LED headlights haha
This car was my first car ever (20 years ago) I cannot wait to see what you do with it! and It sucks it took me this long to find your channel and this build! THANK YOU!
This is the dream. Having had some modicum of success and going back and playing with the toys we always dreamed of making better. Not quite the same deal but I have my old 1998 Acura CL that probably means nothing to anyone but myself but I am so inspired by you Matt to one day give that car all the love it deserves. One day at a time.
I'm new to the channel, mostly cause the Civic I wanted as a teen and never got. I am learning alot about washing this thing as I work (for a huge auto parts retailer) and when you said you were leaving the b16 in I stopped, sat back and smiled. Thats great news to my ears. Nothing wrong with a b18 swap, but the milage, and the mods you are doing, really make me glad its going OEM+ as much as possibl. I look forward to looking back into your catalog as well as seeing this done! Thanks!
There has not been on build I haven’t enjoyed from you , the attention to detail given always impresses me. Keep up the good work i love to see your chanel growing
I use the 530 all the time, having a black car makes the drying process much easier. I will say being as careful as i can I have bumped the paint a few times,I'd be willing to try a different snorkel.
I have to say I smiled when I saw this video in my recommended section. Enjoy the trip down Memory Lane with this one; 22 year old me with my Prelude could have learned a lot from this.
You are right you don’t want to let the iron remover dry on the paint because it could have the potential to etch into the paint. Like Matt said do it at night or in a shaded area and you could even do one or two panels at a time if it’s hotter out side just to be safe.
I remember back in the day playing need for speed underground expending like 4 hours installing mods on the Si 😅. I’m so exited for this build, can’t wait for the next video
I want to see someone do a project like this with a Honda Prelude! Most guys that liked Hondas around that time were in to Civics but I loved the Honda Prelude. Electron Blue was definitely my favorite color. Going to really enjoy this series
Steven Quintanilla I loved my 4th and 5th gen Preludes. I wish I could find a clean one for something to play around with. Had an S2000 years later, and it was great, but the Prelude was a great daily. Loved the H series engines.
Happy to hear the engine is staying with the car. Might be a good idea to swap the instrument cluster out along with the engine swap which would also solve the white gauge problem.
A great refresher course with explanations I did miss last time, also I now know what a nanoskin is and how to use it. That is going to be the cleanest good looking Honda that has been improved not molested in the history of Honda's.
Hey Matt! Ever thought about putting a penetrating sealant on your concrete slab? I just did it to our driveway and it’s crazy the water beading and how easy it is to wash the concrete off. It’s like ceramic coating but for your wash bay!
I was hoping that you were gonna keep all the original parts with the car, that you take off. I’m so glad to hear that you’re gonna keep the motor with the car now as well
honda used to make cute lil inexpensive and fun cars. I had a gsr in 97, lightly modded, tons of fun, wringing everything out of that car and barely exceeding the speed limit. I'll never forget that engine induction noise, newer cars, especially turbos don't come close.
Hi, new viewer to the channel. Just heard about you from the wild ride of a BAT auction earlier. I really respect your approach to car care. Haven't had a chance to watch many videos yet but I respect that chase of finding the best and most efficient product and process for every step of the job. Unfortunately I don't have any cool cars nowadays but I still like to keep my daily driver looking nice. Looking forward to checking out some more of your content, and you definitely got a new sub here.
beautiful car man please put some spoon sw388s and keep the spoiler and btw if you plan on leaving the fog lights go for some amber ones they would look really cool given the car and the color specially once you put the carbon fiber hood on.
Loved all your videos. Keep it coming. Learn so much from it. This would be my 2nd purchased from your website. My pleasure to support OG! Much love from singapore!
This video is my second time watching your channel, but I love the you care for the Honda SI because this Honda in this color is my dream car. I would to buy it from you one day. Please know me know when you are going to sell it because I would love to buy off you!
ill be honest, i have always enjoyed obsessed garage's work but his videos are just way longer than my attention span could handle. after watching this video I understand why they are. very detailed no none sense commentary, everything he explains comes from experience. i subscribed and im very interested for future content.
This came out at the absolute perfect time for me. Been wondering how to fix my cars paint just bought a black car and I see every little blemish on it it drives me crazy
Just came across your channel Matt and gave you a follow and loving the content so far ! I’ll be tuning in to learn what you know. Wish I knew about Obsessed Garage before I went out and bought two kits from Chemical Guys and one from Adams Polishes.
Between yourself and Larry Kosilla, I’ve really learnt to stop touching my cars so much... it does more harm than good in the long term. Id also vouch for Kranzle products.
Use a pump sprayer for the Iron out. You do awesome work, honest reviews and give the best suggestions for products and love how you say not to cheap out.... "legit info and tutorials. Keep it up. I'm going with the AR 630 as per your opinion. No, suggesting.. You don't like giving opinions. Lol
Good video Matt, in for the EGO attachment for my 580! I don't think I want it in metal though. Not only would it be more likely to scratch if you accidentally got too close but I think it would be more expensive than plastic. I guess you reduce the accident chance since it's shorter and it would probably look cooler I. And blue is not my favorite color, especially on a Kawasaki green accented machine :)
Hi I’m a new viewer and subscriber to your page. I recommend a vein engine stand since your keeping the engine with the car. It’s been the best engine stand for Honda’s and it’s easy to work with for engine swaps and and working on the engine outside of the car. Just a thought.
i also had a 99 original em1 with 70k miles as my first car after high school (2012) and it got stolen 3 years later even after having a alarm, killswitch, and quick release steering wheel, my suggestion is to have your new dog watching over the car from now on lol
Thinking a COP conversion would really give a nice OEM+ look by deleting the distributor as long you find one that fits under that factory valley cover
Matt, I was wondering your take on AMMO products? Larry seems to be obsessed with perfection in his products and changes formulas whenever he sees an improvement which can be made.
Haven't yet participated in any of the giveaways but I'm really interested in this one. I plan on watching all of the episodes and getting as many entries as I can afford when this goes live
The EM1 Civic Si and 5th Gen Prelude have always been 2 of my favorite Hondas for 2 different reasons. 1st The EM1 Civic Si is Classy without having to try. The EM1 Civic Si is to me the definition of simplistic perfection. 2nd The H22 5th Gen has a pure Sport appearance. Honda held nothing back when they made The H22 5th Gen Prelude. The only thing I could see wrong with the H22 5th Gen Prelude is that it wasn't rwd with a factory lsd and that the U.S. didn't get the H22A1 220hp engine. I speak of fwd Hondas and not Acuras when I say this. Yes there are other Honda/Acruas that are great like The DC2 ITR, S2K, and RSX Type S but those cars tend to be in much pricier(well he did pay 25K for this one so yeah it's relative. I am speaking of at the time of buying the cars/inflation difference). My dream Honda would be a EM1 Civic Si with a K20/24 set up fully modded. I saw a few where I used to live and on ClubRsx.com and they were stunning in pics and in person.
Would be intersting to see Matts reaction to washing a car in Scandinavia, with all the salt used on the road in the winter.... suspect the "Wash plans" would be a little different
For someone thats been watching for a few years now, I actually enjoyed watching a video covering all the basics again! Thanks Matt
Old viewer here. I’m glad you are showing the new viewers. Guys, it will change the way you take care for car.
Nothing quite as unique as the sound of a B-Series moving into VTEC. One of the great sounding 4 cylinders.
Been here for 4 to 5 years now and I love the back to basics videos...
Wash and talk!! Favorite segment! "Always remember where you came from!" Its my dream car for sure! Thanks Matt for all that your doing!
Someone is loving his Honda. :) Need to compliment it with a NC1!
Thomas George why would he want a boat? 🤣
@@Patrick94GSR I think he is talking about the new NSX not the Miata.
"This is where I started, I think it's important to remember where you came from" RESPECT!

My high school dream! was this exact SI :)
Never too late to get one.
For me it is still my high school even college dream!! But they’re getting harder to find and more expensive
@@ryan-cl3ko most definitely i paid 7k for mine with 140k two years ago. Ive put probably less than 1k on it. Its definitely not a lot out that are in good shape.
I’ve learned so much from these videos. After buying our first house I’m finally ready to get a pressure. Got a kit from obsessed garage

I’m really feeling super clean, period correct builds on cult cars like this Si.
This has definitely earned my subscription to the channel...
As an orgnial OG member I am glad your back to doing what the channel was orgnialy started for. I appreciate it matt.

Excited...Reminds me of when I bought my Civic and...there were a lot of haters driving aggressive close to me.
Seeing this car makes me think about the one my dad had. Its what started it all
These are my absolute favorite vlogs. I enjoy the searching, purchasing and modifying just as much as you!
This is beautiful, I would love one of these this clean, amazing
Never gets boring Matt! My favorites are the wash and talks 👍🏻
Thanks Matt, I learn something new every video, put me down for the Ego attachment
This is awesome, it’s always cool to see significant cars of their era get attention! Thank you sir!
There has not been on build I haven’t enjoyed from you , the attention to detail given always impresses me. Keep up the good work i love to see your chanel growing
Got a 98 m3 that is about to get the same treatment. Love the back to basics videos.
I use the 530 all the time, having a black car makes the drying process much easier. I will say being as careful as i can I have bumped the paint a few times,I'd be willing to try a different snorkel.
Super stoked to watch this build unfold!!!!
Can we talk about that Reverse Hyper machine in the background lol. Gotta dial in that posterior chain.
Love those old Hondas
I have to say I smiled when I saw this video in my recommended section. Enjoy the trip down Memory Lane with this one; 22 year old me with my Prelude could have learned a lot from this.

Going back and watching old Decon videos is the only way to start the weekend 😂 this might be better than the e92 decon.. or the wrx.. who knows
Old guys rule! We were lucky to be young when those Hondas came out my man.👍
That shorter blower shroud looks like a great accessory Matt!
Such a clean car. Been following for years and most looking forward to this build, miss my 99 SI.
Happy to hear the engine is staying with the car. Might be a good idea to swap the instrument cluster out along with the engine swap which would also solve the white gauge problem.
Love the 99-00 Civic Si 👍🏽 had one in the past and love it. Looking clean.
I sure do miss my 99 si. Great information.
A great refresher course with explanations I did miss last time, also I now know what a nanoskin is and how to use it. That is going to be the cleanest good looking Honda that has been improved not molested in the history of Honda's.
Good video. The Florida humidity (and washing at night) allows you to go slower than we have to in Vegas.

So much knowledge and dedication, love for the cars is amazing. Beautiful car. Also looking forward to buy your product.
At first I was a little upset that you planned on swapping in a type R motor but, I know you'll do it right and it won't be cobbled together.

Cant wait for more videos on the civic!

I prefer that civic then any of the other cars you have on the background that’s for sure
I had a DX painted that color.. favorite car.. but I have a 93si hatch now I'm going to have fun with
I almost bought one a few weeks ago iconic car

Nice!
Website looks great now. Much easier to navigate.
Thanks for the lessons! Really appreciate these videos
Had one of these for years turboed garage queen ended up selling it to pay debt off from when i was young. I miss it.
I’ve watched this Decon 4 times now waiting for next video...
Destroying the curve over here....this is how you care for a car. Wow. A true steward, lucky Honda!
Thank you for making this video and explaining everything into great detail.
Your the best Matt
Hey Matt, you should check out P&S Renny Doyle Iron Buster. It’s for paint and wheels, it turns purple and no strong odor.
Great stuff and thanks for all my towels
best color there is
Matt I honestly think you should keep the Civic, and take it to the mountains in Georgia.

Hit up “Art of Attack” formerly known as nemos garage for the spoon hood. They may have one in stock. Also I vote for a J’s Racing exhaust!
Blue EM1, blue M3, blue GT4 ... now that's legit

I would keep the B16A! they are quite capable. But it's up to you of course.

This is the one car in your collection I suggest you keep. Just put the best mugen spoon parts and keep it.
Love these videos.
1999, 2000 civics are the best looking civics ever made
Agreed!
