You prolly dont give a shit but if you guys are stoned like me atm you can watch pretty much all of the latest movies on instaflixxer. I've been binge watching with my brother for the last few months xD
My grandfather and my uncle raced pigeons in Wales. One day, in Sherman Oaks, I decided I needed a hobby. Naturally I had no idea how much time I would be expending on the birds, training, exercise flights, and the races + meetings to put the birds on the trucks for the races. I don’t know the circumstances with Diva, but I must warn you never stick a new bird in the aviary until they’ve spent time in quarantine. You don’t want a disease passed, via the water, to your whole flock. Now maybe Diva has been sufficiently isolated, but just in case you bring more in .......
I am impressed by how clean you keep your aviary. I see a lot of pigeon coop online an most seem so dirty. Kudos to you! This shows you really care for them. I believe in keeping them as pets and part of the family, not for performing or eating! Thank you for your compassion.
I just watched a 10 minute long video about rescuing a pigeon. And enjoyed it! Your smile when you talk about the birds is a thing to behold. I agree with Dolores as a very SF 'D' name...
Pigeons are the best! 🥰 underrated big time. I would suggest keeping new birds for a few days alone to ensure it’s eating and gaining weight. Not only that but to make sure it doesn’t have any disease before putting with your other birds 😬 Much love ❤
We picked up an injured pigeon, late one frosty night, he had part of his lower wing hanging off, so we put him in a box with polar fleece, hotwater bottle, honey water and broken up bread, expecting him to pass away.... He didn't. I had to take a day off work next day, to make up an indoor living space, with perch, food, and a mirror (which he didn't like). The damaged bit of wing dropped off - there was no odour, and no cuts or blood. As it's spring now, we set him up in a sheltered area of the garden, and he's enjoyed strutting around with other birds.... But I checked on him tonight, as it started to snow, and he was huddled and not moving..... So, he's back inside, warming up, and I'm Googling info on pigeons, as clearly he'll be part of the family for some more time yet. Great to see your set-up.
Thank you for caring for pigeons! 💖 Pigeons always get a bad rap and are treated poorly. Do you have link on other pigeon rescue places? Btw, very nice aviary! 😊
Joey, take my advicer and always wear a mask when cleaning your aviary. Later in life you will likely suffer from BFL (Bird fanciers lung) from the dust. Almost all the old pigeon keepers I know now suffer with it or some form of respiratory problems.
What a fun video. Thanks for sharing more about your guests. 1. How about the VERY San Francisco name of Dolores? 2. How often do you clean the aviary? I'm asking because birds are not known for their neat "bathroom" habits. 3. Should you not wear a mask when cleaning? Aren't there diseases you can get from pigeon poop?
Contrary to popular belief, pigeons don't really carry diseases or diseases that could be transmitted to humans (zoonotic). And if they're in a clean environment, it's perfectly okay to clean this way. Small mammals and rodents are the ones that could spread diseases to humans, (which can be attracted by the food that you feed your pigeons)
My bf & I went to buy 12 pigeons, 6 fan tails, 2 penguin pigeons, 2 Trompeteras & 2 Bonito Chinos. My current cage is way too small & thats where I bumped into you. I had been searching for a walk-in dyi nice n easy to clean, but Super large Cage and thank you yours is absolutely Perfect ! Now… please advice me what do pigeons eat? Chopped corn? I had a 30 yr cockatiel no longer here so I have plenty of his food left. What do you feed your babies? Do they eat sunflower seeds? White plain cooked rice? There are around 70 to 80 wild pigeons in front of Walmart’s parking lot that occasionally I cook white plain rice n take it to them…. I don’t know how they survive cuz o never see them eating or drinking fresh water. Poor little things.
Check out Palomacy and talk to your avian vet. Please be aware they are pretty easy to care for but research should always be done before picking up an animal. I would also recommend adopting from rescues if you intend on breeding them and bringing more into the population.
Hi I've been looking into getting a rescue pigeon and I would like to get as much information as possible so could you please give me some information about pigeon and what they need
Stumbled across your videos, great work. Looks like you’re living in San Francisco is that true? I would be very careful about introducing new birds to loft. Isolate any birds for two weeks to keep an eye on their droppings and their demeanor because one sick bird can wipe out all your birds. Especially the feral bird that looks like the new one you introduced. Also Pigeons don’t like to roost on round things like twigs and ropes. Pigeon‘s feet work better on flat surfaces like one by ones or two x twos.
What should we name the new bird? (Would love to hear some that start with "D" but all suggestions are welcome!)
Désirée! 😃
Joey Yee can you please tell me where you buy your pigeon housing that has the little slats. Desperate to find those and don’t know where to look.

@Ahmed Brentley Yea, been watching on instaflixxer for since december myself :D
Thanks for Helping Pigeons. Hoping that everyone who kept pigeons feed their birds and maintaining the good health of their birds. 🙏💯
You are a amazing person.
Joey, I hereby annoint you, Birdman of The Richmond! Thanks for another GREAT video.

I came to really appreciate the pigeons. Each has its own personality. I even loved the smell of the bloom on the birds feathers.
Take care.
I don’t have the birds anymore. I only had them for several years in the 90s.

Thanks… I had not known this. I just got involved with 12 pigeons and I appreciate your advice too!
