That is beautiful! Bishop Barron is also one of my favorite Catholic theologians along with Bishop Ratzinger (Pope Benedict XVI) and Dr. Scott Hahn. And I’m a Baptist pastor just like you. Bishop Barron should really watch your stuff!
May God bless you my brother in Christ😇🙏🏼⛪️🕊 From a faithful Catholic Christian who loves all of his Protestant brothers and sisters in Christ🤍 May we all be one as Christ intended and as He and the Father are One🙏🏼
Just ordered the leather bundle as a gift for our babysitter, who after babysitting two of our kids, is finally riding off to retirement. So happy for this review.
I just received my Vol 1 and 2 today and they are so nice! I am really excited to dig into them. They are just as you described. Thank you for all your outstanding videos!!
The overall artistry of these Bibles is what makes them so unique. I've enjoyed using Vol. 1 and ordered Vol. 2 today. My only wish would be for two ribbons instead of one. Appreciate your videos, Tim.
I love how the Bible is not just pretty to look at (although who doesn’t love reading through something so luxuriously crafted)… The content itself is so well put together. Just the commentaries alone are so helpful and so intelligently written.
Wow Tim l am soo jealous. This is a wonderful series of Bibles. This is certainly one to aim for, they are so beautiful. The Catholic Bibles are great. I'm doing some serious converting. Thank you for reviewing it.
Thanks, Brother Tim. Not going to lie. When I first saw the cover, my mind immediately went to R2-D2! But then again, I'm a huge R2 fan so that may have been the reason. ;)
I have the volume 1, have ordered the volume 2 and will order the rest. But honestly speaking, this Bible isnt for everyone. Its not for serious Bible readers. Barron is correct, this Bible aims to draw the lukewarm Christians or even atheist's to Christianity, which should be the aim of all Christians. I bought this because this is a piece of art that I could pass on to as precious heirloom. Im a Catholic, but Im a heavy Bible reader of Zondervan Cultural Background Study Bible, which is a Protestant Bible. Of all the Bible that I keep, that one is what I read most. I hope they make one for Catholics too, with 7 Deuterocanonical books.
Volume 1 & 2 on Order this is my first dive into anything Catholic as I come from a Pentecostal background. I am very interested to read through the commentary in Acts and Revelation. But I am reading through the bible again this year so they will have to wait till I get to the New Testament. Can’t say I necessarily agree with all their theology but it’s good to find out and learn and they do look beautiful. Thanks Tim
Claudia, I was raised Pentecostal and over the years i converted to Roman Catholicism because of the history, beauty, and miracle of the communion. Swim the Tiber!
Hi Tim, thanks for a great video. I’m just wondering, would you recommend storing this Bible standing up on a bookshelf if it’s propped up by other heavy books or lying down?
They both look beautiful. What’s the commentary like though? I wonder if Protestants could use it. Shame though that the Gospels and the rest of the NT are separate. This would diminish its usefulness I think as you’d need to take both with you to church. But maybe these are designed for home use?
About 1/2 to 2/3 of the commentary comes from Bishop Robert Barron, with the other portion being (Catholic) Christian authors from throughout the centuries. I'm a former Protestant, and I'd say that most of the commentary is compatible with Protestantism (especially a Lutheran/Episcopal/Methodist/Evangelical understanding), but you'll certainly find a few surprises that may challenge your Protestantism (such as quotes from St. Ignatius of Antioch and St. Justin Martyr in John 6). They are more meant for "home use" (and for Catholics, the translation used isn't the same one read at Mass), but there is a wealth of prayerful enlightenment that can come from them.
@@PianoForte9096 Thank you so much for the information on the commentary, Kyle. I really appreciate it. It’s good to know what the commentary is like. I think I’ll check the Gospels volume out. Blessings to you & thanks again.
I was not impressed by the first volume, but that may have been because the cover of mine fell off. If I get this second volume I may try the hardcover instead. Looks nice.
I love the beauty of these volumes. I’m curious about how the hardcovers match up in quality to the leather bound. It seems like they would be easier to keep as a set like the ESV Readers or the NIV Sola Scriptura Project.

Agreed... very well designed and useful.
Watched this with Ed last night. He already has his copy on order. ❤️
Awesome!! Hi Ed!

Glad you like them!
Ordered mine because I have Vol. 1 and it is AMAZINGLY USEFUL AND BEAUTIFUL.
Nice!!
I am an ex-Catholic, but I love that Bible! It's beautiful! If I had a reason to buy it for a family member, I would in a heartbeat.
It’s awesome!
I loved the Vol. 1! Can’t wait to get Vol. 2.
It's gorgeous!
Just ordered! Excited!
Nice!
Lol, you're funny. Thanks for the review Tim. Christ be with you.
Loved Vol 1 and just ordered Vol II. I’m pumped! It’s beautiful.
Hope you enjoy it!

Hahahaha!!
“I really like your stuff man” 😂
😂🤣😂
🤣🤣🤣
You could say “father” 😉
WHOA!!!
Seriously, what else COULD I say?
EXACTLY!!!
I wonder if they had any discussions about whether or not to include Acts with this volume or with the Gospels. It's a beautiful book. Big box.
I suppose keeping the Gospels as a four-pack made the most sense.

Good review. I will purchase both volumes. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanx, Brother Tim 🌹🌹🌹
You are very welcome, Brenda!
I just bought the two volumes in leather. I hope they will do the catholic Old Testament too
Nice!

@@timwildsmith as u know I have the first edition now need this one
Both of those volumes look amazing!
They are!
Lovely to see the decorum exhibited by you and your subscribers toward a Bible out of your own tradition.
Thank you... I'm glad this is a place of mutual appreciation and respect.
Thanks, Tim. Love your channel! Where did you get the Rembrandt poster behind you. Love that too!
It was an Amazon find. There’s a link in the video description.
I wonder what it would have looked like with Paul’s letters bound together, and then the general letters and Revelation? 🤔✌️🤓
Thinner!

Flat is probably wisest.

I liked the hardcover of Volume 1 a lot.
Hi Jason! Did you email Word on Fire? I work there, and I know we'd be happy to get you another copy!
Got the first one so I gots to get the second
Of course!
Out of stock in Ireland ☹️
Oh no! Those went fast.

I agree with you, Derek. And the quality is really great. Would look very nice as a set on your shelf in hardcover.
Has anyone ever told you you look like Robin Parry?
Nope!
I suspect not many know who he is. He’s an Anglican dude. Written a few books. You’re definitely younger and not quite balding yet though! 😆
Can you gift me this Bible
How do I order?
I have the leather bound vol. 1 l…. I would love to get Vol 3! Help! Where do I go to order???
Oops! I meant volume 2

Catholics refer to Bishops as “your excellency” however you’re not Catholic.
This bible looks amazing, it’s a shame it’s RC…
