    I have all 4 of The Word On Fire Bibles in the 7 volume series in leather. These Bibles are an investment for me. The construction and content of these Catholic Bibles are spectacular and I'm proud to support Bishop Robert Barron and Word On Fire Ministries and as my family and I are Catholic, these Bibles will become a family heirloom 🙂

    I converted from Church of Christ (sort of a primitive Catholic form of protestantism), and I’ve never lost my love of the king James version, so I have to settle for a Cambridge Bible in kjv that includes the deuterocannonical books as the apocrypha. The language is so much more gorgeous in places. And so much more hilarious in places. The kids mocking Elisha in the story of the she-bears with taunts of “thou bald head! Thou bald head!” Alone is enough to make kjv my lifelong favorite.
    But I did by the wof Bible with revelation to better understand the church’s understanding of it. ❤ great investment. The stunning art prints really make it worth it for anyone who enjoys drinking in sacred beauty.

    I own all the leather copies and will buy the rest. My only criticism is the paper is not glued down very well on the inside cover and the gold gilding on the edge of the pages is VERY prone to scratching. Looks very nice when it comes out of the box but is not very resistant to wear and tear. Would probably recommend the hardcover version instead of the leather.

    After what seemed like ages, I just made my bible purchase with thanks to one of your videos. I cannot believe I was at first considering those colouring/journal creative womens bibles...attractive though their covers do seem! They do have a tendency to make women look daft. In the end it was between the Divine Mercy and Catholic Illustrated Bible....Illustrated won and I'm eager to receive it; the woodcut prints look stunning as well as being of historical significance. Did you ever review the Divine Mercy, Ascension press release?

    Augustine: The Bishop of Hippo is a-GUS-tin. The missionary to England and Archbishop of Canterbury is AU-gus-teen. Same for the city in Florida, even though it’s named for the bishop of Hippo.

    I know that you did a lot of study in the Gospel on this series, how Catholic would you say these Bibles are. Would it be distracting for someone who isn't catholic is my main question.

      Yes the Deuterocanonical books will be included
      3 more volumes are coming out .
      Vol 5. Exile and return.
      Vol 6 The Wisdom literature
      Vol 7 The Prophets .
      All books of the original Christian Bible will be covered in the order they were originally put in the Bible.

    • @TheRudieLibrarian
      @TheRudieLibrarian 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@Defender_of_Faith I know these three volumes are coming out, and what they are, but that doesn’t mean definitively that the Apocrypha is included. I haven’t seen it on any of Word on Fire’s sites. Do you know for certain that it will be?

    • @Defender_of_Faith
      @Defender_of_Faith 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@TheRudieLibrarian The site says the complete old testament will be covered in future volumes. They are using the
      NRSV-CE. The CE is Catholic Edition. All Catholic Bibles have the deuter canonical books. They will be in the Old Testament. Not an appendix like early Protestant Bibles had. I'm sure as each addition is released, the website will tell you what books are in that edition.

    • @mrjustadude1
      @mrjustadude1 6 месяцев назад +1

      It should included the full Catholic Cannon. I don't think it will include any of the books that the Catholics consider non canonical like Macibees 3 or 4.
