- Hey everyone back with more Scrap Mechanic Survival! Today Kosmo and I are taking our boat out on a big ocean adventure to try and gather more component kits! We've never actually spent a lot of time looting islands and we were in for a huge surprise when we finally checked them all out! @darealkosmo

you forget that the gold chests spawn in the bottom of the deep underwater holes and under the stone arch formation. doing that run and hitting the underwater spaces would yield more than you collected.
Sometimes even 2 good chests.
A modded survival co-op/solo series would be something I'd love to watch

And the chest was spotted though textures by my cousin due to weak PC and slow texture loading.
If i'm right it's not 100% to span there.
For me IT spawned only on 5 out od 12 worlds

@@apersunthathasaridiculousl1890 from what i read, it sounds like there is a single special 'mining island' where you can mine the ground.. correct me if i'm wrong though
It would but you have to take into account the fact that slopes are kinda hard to come by in survival and that slopes have friction, so the boat wouldn't be able to jump far.
Satisfactory is always acknowledging mods and adding modded items in ways that fit with the game. They tone down the features to not completely overshadow the mods.

I would LOVE a modded survival series. Idk how you even do modded survival propperly since the game doesn't have proper survival modding support so alot of the craftbot stuff doesn't texture.

@@iplayksplol9974 You're looking at it wrong. A single mod is fine. It's when you use 2 mods or more that it becomes an issue.
@@Hadeks_Marow it’s because survival has really limited modding api, they’re planning to make it as open as creatives’s api in chapter 2,but for rn one mod at a time

Second, that's not accurate. They said they "could" but don't have any plans for it. I believe this was talked about in devblog 21. . . or whenever their last Q&A was. I believe their wording was something along the lines of "it is something we should probably get around to doing "eventually", but right now, all of our focus is almost exclusively on chapter 2."
That means they are open to the idea, but don't intend to do anything about it, even tho they probably will eventually maybe.
That's why I'm slightly annoyed where their focus is. The game is very limited in content and given the size of their small team, they physically can't make enough content to keep up with the demand for content. . . which is why modding is kinda a big factor with these kind of things. No matter how big chapter 2 will be, no matter how much content it adds. . . I don't think it will last as long as they would like it to. Even if it is, I still just value community made content more than official content for whatever reason.
@@Hadeks_Marow they most likely would, either in chapter 2 itself or in later patches, from a pure business standpoint it would revitalize old players back into modding survival, increasing play time and from a pure gameplay standpoint, it would allow players more room to mod and simply enjoy the game more imho

You could try to automate the boat-rail so you just have to drive into it and it takes you to the other side autonomously.

you guys should go into a warehouse and steal a few of those metal grid blocks, slap like 8 of them on the bottom of the boat to make the ultimate land boat
I think you can devide farm into smaller segments and have multiple raids at ones when you do one of build episodes to get some component kits while you're at it. You don't even need to harvest it and just leave untill you end building.
You need to be in a certain distance from the loot chest places to respawn the chests. I know this cause i always tried to go back to the crashed ship for all the chests but they haven't respawned cause my base is too far away
you can put some of those grid low friction blocks on 3 points of contact with the ground under your boat so you can drive it over land easily.
Ruining the build did
Put high tier crops in an unreachable place and use crushers to kill bots to farm not only high tier crops, but metal and component kits as well.
the island buildings are always the same from what ive seen, never has one been different. this is my way of gold farming, boats are good, just remember to hit the underwater holes also next time because they have gold chests also.

You can include the buildings on the shore or loot the deeper holes in the water
As sad as it would be, I think a lot of the more advanced builders would appreciate the fixing of the suspension bug and maybe a replacement item like a powered gyroscope for people who still want to use it. Plus it being powered would make it less cheaty in survival!

I have something you can do just to kill time, a dock winch to pull your boat out of the water for you when you get back to base. Sorry I don't know the spawn rates but you could do it the manual way and just check every day till you see stuff there

@kAN & Kosmo looks like it's 5 days, that means every island might take a bit longer to respawn. also Farmer Balls take 30 ingame days to respawn, just fyi.
Do you know if gold chests take longer? I'm wondering if they only found so many because they have never looted these before.

I think that the in-game code says that it takes 6 in-game days to respawn everything. I might be wrong though

They used electric, so it probably won't. If they'd used gas, then the bearings would allow the extra acceleration, but electric caps the rotation rate.

I was wondering something similar. I think it's just that gold chests have a much longer respawn time, but they've never looted these so they all had a good chance for a gold chest
