Being interviewed with Nardwuar is like taking a Psychedelic journey. His goofiness breaks the "artist image" sold to people and shows how the artists respond to a culturally destructive force like Nardwuar. MGMT clearly is very cool with both Psychedelics and Nardwuar.
MGMT's debut song KIDS was brilliant especially considering the time in which the song was released and its high placement on the charts. Still think that track is brilliant to this day.
6:30 these guys are geekier than nardwuar himself, it's cool to see artists that actually roll with these interviews even though they can get real corny

When I met him the vibe/aura he gave off was very home-y and zen. Like hanging out with your best friend(s) who you've grown with and would trust your life with (and I don't mean that in a weird way, I'm being totally sincere). Any star-struck feelings I had totally evaporated and it was super chill. He's a cool dude. James is fun as well, very enjoyable to talk to. Haven't met any of the others yet.
I like how IMMEDIATELY without even having been asked about the child abuse allegations for the video, "Kids" he blurts out that the real reason he was crying was being 'cranky'.... just think it's hilarious how disconnected he was there. and you can tell every single time Andrew responds to questions or is reminded of things he has said in the past Ben just glares at him like "do NOT fuck this up andrew....do NOT say something more ridiculously stupid"
Lol and when he mentioned the black labrador was there and that the dog was nice at the deek party..... weird... and he said about the mutual hand jobs...😂😂 and the guys looked at andrew like SHUTUP
I think MGMT are a bit " frightened" to answer this interviewer at first. But they get the hang of it quite soon. Nardwuar keeps them amused !! He needs to watch what he's doing with that mike, nearly knocking a few teeth out.. lol. Good interview.
