There is a great spot for bodyboarding only an hour away from the wedge, it's called Salt Creek Beach. Waves are supposed to be pretty nice on the 4th of July (around 4 - 5 footers). I highly recommend you go! Love your vids!
There are a few reasons… firstly, it’s a shorebreak and a leash would either break from the pressure, damage boards or damage you. Secondly, it’s so close to the beach that you can just climb out and grab it if you do loose it. And lastly, it’s easier to get away and under waves without a leash…

Sickkk. Nice little Cali swell
This looks so damn fun
Looked like epic fun!
More on the way my friend :)
You know it!
Super fun! Yewwwww 🎉🎉🎉
Why nobody uses leashes on the wedge?
Have wondered the same thing for ages
It breaks so close to shore that after each wave you practically wash up the beach with It anyway!
Just easier without one!
Leashes would injure more people than anything
Howzit Iain. Don't you think Cali Wedge looks like Port Alfred West Beach Wedge?
keep up the good work bru!
It definitely does. I think if PA had more sand and became more of a shore break it would be the same type of wave!
Iain - I hope you're there when it starts pumping. . . that'd be awesome to get some fresh clips when the Wedge is going off.
I’ll be there. Super excited for it 👌🏼
Why does no one got a leash at the wedge ?
