Hey Dom, This was hands down the best omni overview I have EVER seen. I love the other guys (Omar, Jake, Jess, Illuminerdy) as well but your overview was so thorough, and not one spoiler. I have told you before but you have an awesome talent and please keep up the great work. I truly look forward to all of your content. I don't know how you do it with school and all your jobs; that is some serious grinding my guy. Thank you for all you do.😁
@@davidsexton1392 That is high praise, which I'm so grateful for, thank you. I don't know how I do it either, but I love this medium and the microphone too much to leave. Stay tuned for more!
Thank you for the review, informative as always. Loved the logo, shame they changed it (again). I was on a fence with the 1st one because a lot of double dipping and wish they included everything in this omni but yes, it's a standard practice that they do it by the author. I'm glad we at least got the core in OHC. The perfect thing would be to just make a coherent story line and mix it with GL into 4 omnis, scrapping the double dipping and page count but that's something for future generations at this point.
@@Arynex Yeah, the main point is having all of everything that Tomasi and Gleason have in this format. My bet is that DC Finest will correctly map this at some point, but the thing is that this devolves into the New 52, which is the clear cutoff point for that format. Otherwise, happy my childhood exists in omnibus format!
Thanks for the great review, Dom! I have pre-ordered this book, and I hope it will arrive next week. I can understand the frustration about the issues that were left out, especially when story lines aren't quite complete. On the other hand, I own not only Vol. 1, but also all three Geoff Johns GL omnis (as well as the Blackest Night and Brightest Day omnis and Kindle/Comixology versions of the Tony Bedard collections). So when all is said and done, I own all of those stories, and I can live with what's missing here. But it must be frustrating for fans of Tomasi and Gleason who aren't Geoff Johns Fans. It would be interesting to find out if there are many of those. Looking forward to your Green Lantern reading order.
@@Sehlat Yeah as someone who already owns everything, I'm comfortable with the issue mapping, but I'm running off the frustrations for the switching back and forth. It feels like this was the problem for the people (including me) who have the Hickman Avengers oversized hardcovers and not the omnibuses with the mapping. I'm done with the script for the GL reading order. Hopefully that resonates well with the people!
I think the main reason why Green Lantern Corps other missing issues are not included in that Omnibus because it's not by Peter j Tomasi and Patrick Gleason. In some Omni that are released most of the writers and artists want to insert their own projects.
Hey thanks man! So it double dips with 26 issues i think, is it still worth it for the other issues? Because 26 issues x 22pages (roughly page count) a comic = around 570 pages of double dipping, is the book still worth it for the other 700-800 pages in it? Its a big double dip with the johns omnibus’s, the vol 1 GLC had about 16 issues double dipping I believe but this one is 26 issues
I think i missed read it, the 0-20 for green lantern and 0-20 for the green lantern’s corps are 2 different series right? I was reading them both as the same, i thought it was a huuuuge double dip my bad lol, i was like why would they miss all these other issues and just add a big 20 issue double dip, i was confused
@@MrRockforlife1 Double dipping is mainly for the War of the GLs storyline (which has missing issues in the Tomasi omnibus). New 52 GLC is different from New 52 GL. Like I mentioned in the video, it's John Stewart and Guy Gardner focused instead of Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris led.
@@DomofXStudio thanks man I appreciate it! Yeah i was confused at first but its good now! Awesome video also btw! Cheers man :) im excited to pick up the omnibus, waiting for a nice sale
This was a great review I just recently read Batman & Robin omnibus if was my first introduction to Tomasi & Gleason .. I was not a fan of Gleason's art wen I sa it on videos but wen you're actually reading the book & soaking in what he is doing with the choreography he is actually really good and has a lot of range .. I ended up beeing a fan of both writter & artist but as far as the mapping on the omnibus of B&R I was consistently lost so j know exactly what you are talking about, SPOILER there was a part were it skips a few tie ins & wen we get back to the B&R series Robin is dead & those issues were not included 🤮🤮 that was so pretty freaking important information that was left out & it happened a few more times totally effected the experience for me & constantly threw me off in a bad way to the point were I said no wonder manga readers tell me they have bad experiences reading super hero comics

Great overview Dom!! They should've collect all the series, what's the need of doing incomplete omnis? Can't wait to see more overviews from you
