Diagnosis & maintenance BMW Motorrad R1150R 2003 engine R28.
Make drain tools to allow the oils to drain to the right place
The wife's hairband makes the drain tool stay in place well
Change the transmission, rear wheel drive and engine oils at operating temperature
Changing the transmission oil at least every 2 years
Changing the oil in the rear wheel drive every 40 tkm (24000 miles) or at the latest every 2 years
Changing engine oil, replacing oil filter element at least every year
Important: Do not let oil drip on the rear tyres!
Remove oil filler plugs, oil drain plugs and allow the oils to drain out
Remove engine oil filter with special tool "BMW 114650 "
Make sure that the filter seal does not stick to the motor
Refit the oil drain plugs with a new sealing rings
Refill with oils to correct level
Important: Never top up the engine-oil level past the “MAX” mark.
TRANSMISSION OIL CHANGE:
Oil drain plug..................................................... 30 Nm
Oil filler plug ................................................... 30 Nm
To bottom of filler neck................................... approx. 0.8 l
Oil type........................... Castrol Syntrax Universal Plus 75W-90
Gasket ring part number.................................. 2 x 07119963300
REAR WHEEL DRIVE:
Oil drain plug..................................................... 23 Nm
Oil filler plug ................................................... 23 Nm
To bottom of filler neck ................................. approx. 0.25 l
Oil type............................Castrol Syntrax Universal Plus 75W-90
Gasket ring part number.................................. 2 x 07119963200
ENGINE OIL WITH FILTER:
Oil filter......................................................... 11 Nm
Oil drain plug..................................................... 32 Nm
with oil filter change.............................................3.75 l
Oil type.........................................MP-Motox 20W-50 4T-miner
Oil filter part number....................................... 11421460845

can you pull out the oil filter with a regular oil puller or does it have to be special from bmw? It's the first time I'm going to change the oil myself.
