The grief, shock, amazement, disturbed countenance alongside an almost frozen restraint displayed on Harrison Ford's face, in his voice, and his body is a beautiful thing to watch.
EXCELLENT ACTOR. his scenes were my favorite ones.
This observation 😍
Beautifully put ❤ he was fabulous here in this scene
@@patperez8223 restrained surprise is HF's characteristic - every his role has some iconic "wtf, no way" or "wtf, really?" moments.
I watched this scene over and over...his acting was incredible!!
When you actually deeply love someone and it ends for whatever reason, you never really stop loving them forever.
This scene knocks me to my core. I can totally feel what Harrison is feeling. Both actor and actress hit my core soul in this scene. That’s why their great.
Harrison Ford’s acting is top league here.
Adeline is in a relationship where she can actually use the phrase "that's not how your father used to do it" 😂
LMAO so messed up.
Naughty 😂😂😂
Phoebe buffay
Maybe and maybe not. In the flashbacks we see no evidence of her and William ever sleeping together.
bro i cant help but think how weird it is for sleeping with someone.. u almost concieved
This is Adeline's scene, you can see her tear up, the love in her eyes, just a beautiful performance.
It's like all these years, William still can't get over Adaline. She's like his first love.
Watch the movie
@@MusicAsWeMakeIt Yup, watched it a multiple times already. :)
The affection a man has for his first love is the equivalent of an earthquake generated tsunami that engulfs his entire world. Nothing is ever the same and paints his entire life.
@@user-vk2mw6lc3o How can first love be toxic?
@@andrewdavid9412yes, and no, a first love will always be hard to forget that was your FIRST, but TRUE love will always be stronger to the ones who find it
The amount of love he still had for her, as soon as he said "Adeline?" It kinda hurts. Hard to explain
I adore this movie. Harrison Ford and Blake Lively's chemistry is unbelievable.
❤🎉
I know this isn’t the main point but, as someone who grew up in the American South, if your mama offers you a homemade cheesecake, you TAKE it.
LOL HAHA!!!
Bless the South
I grew up in the American Southwest, and if my Dad brought home mountain oysters, we ate them.
😂😂😂😂
Good recipe?
That pain can hit the strongest man on his weakest spot. Every moment he lived with her and every moment he dreamt to live with her, flashes in front of him like a storm. And it destroyes rest of his life. 💔
Holy shit why didn't they use that actor to play young Han Solo instead? He's fucking perfect.
My thoughts exactly
+1
He wasn't Jewish enough.
Well for one thing, this movie came out in 2015 and Solo: A Star Wars Story came out in 2018. Alden Ehrenreich's first big break was in 2016 ("Hail, Caesar!"). So he wasn't widely known by casting directors I'd imagine.
@@WRXSEVEN Well exactly, that means this movie was out three years prior to Solo and a year prior to Alden getting his break so they had the opportunity to get Anthony Ingruber who in my opinion is the best and only actor who can pull off a young Harrison, I would honestly love to see a young Indiana Jones series again but this time with Anthony and a Netflix budget.
Harisson Ford acting is class...
Look at the expression he showed in this scene
One thing the writers should have included in William's instant recognition of Adaline is the fact that she never lost the small mole on the right side of her face. The odds of your daughter having one in the exact same location would be next to impossible. And when you love someone as deeply as he did, that person's face is etched in your memory for the rest of your life.
I disagree. I think you can love someone profoundly without remembering the exact location of every mole, scar, birthmark etc.
@@ashlynkmiles And I disagree with that. You will remember where each mole is because you've seen it as much or more than the person herself. Are you telling me if someone fell in love with Cindy Crawford when she was in her 20's, she never ages and then 40 years later, you see her again and you don't remember her trademark mole near her mouth? Come on.
@@Dana-wq5tp We don’t have to agree. I think it’s going to vary from person to person. Perhaps you have a crystal clear memory but I don’t. I’ve absolutely been in love and I can’t remember the exact location of noticeable skin details. It’s not usually what I focus on when remembering someone I love. I think other details are more important to retain than the precise location of a mole for example
@@ashlynkmiles No problem. All I'm saying is that when you love someone's face and consider that person beautiful, I would definitely remember that mole on her face. But that's cool...the screenwriter chose to make a point that he would remember the scar on her wrist instead.
@@Dana-wq5tp You, yes. Myself, no. It’s individual. I think a scar he stitched himself is quite a bit more memorable though
This scene is so well pulled off by Ford. I can only imagine a lot of 50 plus guys or gals having such emotions if they fell across a situation like this. A lot of us have had that intense romance in their late teens early 20's that would still knock your socks off if you crossed paths with them or just the site of someone looking like them. Immediate flashback. So many emotions gathered at one moment in time. The ifs and buts and grief and excitement and youthful feelings and passions.
That voice over with Harrison and younger Harrison was well done.
I almost believed it but saw another interview about the actor,Anthony Ingruber ,who has been doing impressions of Ford since he was little. That's how he was discovered for the part! How lucky is that?!
Major side note, Anthony Ingruber did such a well job that he was actually in Indiana Jones 5, being Indy in some distant shots in the WW2 sequence ✨ talk about the resemblance being uncanny haha
When she said she past away..it broke his heart all over again
I FELL SO SAD FOR THE FATHER
Felt sad for his wife.
Moreso the wife.
Being cucked is awful. 😂
Don’t feel sorry for the father ..since she gotten with his son..he gets her every Sunday 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It’s just a movie
Harrison Ford and Blake Lively hit home runs in this scene.
His wife gets so jealous! Lol “We were very close“ You said that already ha ha
I was left absolutely stunned by Harrison Ford's acting in this scene!! It was beyond magnificent!!His display of a wide range of emotions is a truly a beautiful thing to watch. I was mesmerized!!
Not being with the one you love must be a hell of a way to live. Imagine you’re married to someone else and still yearns for the one that went away. Goodness me.
It is.
@@alyssawoodman how do you move on from that? I’m a curious person so I like to know about things that I can’t imagine. Hope you don’t mind me asking.
@@fihtah8243 Acceptance. Life is full of painful events and regretful outcomes that we have no control over. The art is in acceptance of what isn’t and appreciation of what is.
@@roddaman7545 certainly true but there’re those tragedies that we just cannot move on from. Yes I do believe we’re capable of from most and your words are spot on. I like to hear from other’s who read this. Can you really move on and accept from some wounds that cuts us too deep.
while still very much single, I can attest to how much it sucks to experience a near miss with someone that had the potential for many happy years
That was a master class in acting given by Mr. Ford❤👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💯⭐️
0:43 ❤ the way he said Adaline
Every single time I watch this part I get goosebumps all over my body
I have tears in my eyes watching this scene, every time, you never forget your first love, never
Just don't be unfair to your present partner...
@@Kennamszoeypls shut up, we males are not RAMified like women.
2 Real Facts for a lot of humans. 1.) Not everyone ends up marrying the love of their life. 2.) Most don't ever forget the love of their life.
This scene is the perfect example.
That's why we don't wanna date someone with a major past.
@@aryatripathi8878you’ll never know either way. Just like the wife in the clip. People have to settle n have kids anyways
I had to watch the girl I loved for 8 years, my best friend and the one who could level me with just a look, that could make me feel energized but feel completely frozen…I had to watch her get married to someone else. I didn’t attend the wedding, but I saw her a couple years later and I felt like Harrison. Just said her name from the bottom of my soul, almost a whisper, and just remembered all the good and none of the pain. Not until she told me she was expecting. Life can be cruel, and the storybook ending isn’t meant for everyone.

Love this movie and all the actors in it, especially Blake and Harrison ☺
Yes. Michiel Huisman is great too. Actually he is Dutch and lives not far north of Amsterdam near where we live…
This scene is aMAZing by all the actors. Even Amanda Crew looks to be tearing up at the whole experience of it all in this scene. Such great acting.
Harrison captures first love perfectly. You can really feel what he’s thinking as he sees her. Great acting.
Harrison Ford having been an amazing swashbuckler on Errol Flynn level kind of makes people forget sometimes just how good of a dramatic actor Ford is.
Let's take a moment to admire and seriously give flowers to Anthony Ingruber, they found a guy that looks like a younger Harrison Ford and he does a greaaaaaaaaaaaaat impression of him.
The chemistry she had with William (present and in the flashbacks) was so much better than that creep Ellis.
Where can i watch this
IMHO: Disney did a huge disservice of not casting the younger actor portraying Harrison Ford's character in this movie and not having him as Han in the SW Solo movie. When it comes to big film studios like Disney, they rather play it safe with established talent instead of more risks with artistic new unknown talents.
Anthony got to be Indiana Jones instead. That's him in the first 25 minutes in Dial of Destiny. This time he's doubling for Harrison's body!!!! He's also one of the bidders in the hotel who end up shooting at Indy. Harrison did right by him.
As proven in this scene, choosing “older established” Harrison Ford to portray the older William was not exactly a huge disservice to the movie. The man is a great actor, and in the scene a little later on when he confronts Adeline you could feel his confusion and heartbreak that he suddenly feels again coming right through the screen.
People are saying its not fair to the wife, but sometimes, in life, for reasons out of our control, life gets in the way sending us in a different path, a path which separates you from an individual who had already made the biggest impact of all. . We cant just tell the heart to stop feeling, we can only accept the harsh reality, Leaving an empty whole that only that person could ever fill. . .
I was surprised how much i loved this movie. It was very interesting.
... and then, Harrison Ford shows how great actor he is. Il love this movie just for this moment... beautiful, purely beautiful.
the montage with dylan is so beautiful. lost love is tough
One of my top 3 movies of all time. The only movie I have seen 4 times and will again in the future.
I've read a lot of comments, but I have not seen any from her point of view. People mention that he Harrison's character loved her, and the wife was wronged yada yada, but what about Adeline. She loved but could never love fully cause she was always on the run. She had to leave people behind that she cared about or watch them die. That is a very lonely existence.
Harrison Ford is just spectacular!
It's so heartbreaking
Just watched this wonderful movie...so many emotions while watching it ..I'm 60 ..would have been my 40th anniversary this year...age is supposed to happen..Great show loved it♥️♥️
Imagine being the partner of someone who yearns for another. 💔
Hits anyone that's ever loved and lost. Phenomenal acting from Harrison Ford and straight to the drink he goes. 😢
Harrison Ford is an amazing actor!!
She finally can love someone without running away ..is been 8 years but honestly never saw this movie tell today amazing movie Harrison Ford is top of all this amazing movie ...love it tell end ...
Pardon the hyperbole, but the acting by these two in this scene is extraordinary.
That meeting... Trust me, it makes me cry... Like I can't explain how pure that scene was..😭❤️
Love is love!!!
❤️ ❤️ ❤️
You can love more than one person, dog, job, hobby, song, flower, etc...
This is one of my favorites movies. I love it. I’ve seen it more than 5 times…
How was no one in the family remotely interested in such a MASSIVE coincidence?
It’s….a….movie.
If they do that that early there’s no reason for the movie to continue, yes? When there’s no more drama the movies over. With suspension of tension it continues. Duh.
I’m an actor so this is obvious to me, but cmon. It would be a short film otherwise 😂
@@codyfloydactor loved Blood at the Root by the way😊
I think they were more caught up on the fathers reaction than to worry about that.
It's not a massive coincidence. I know people who have known each other. I see ex-classmates ot the other side of the world when traveling.. 😂
Such an awesome movie ,it stays with u ,Blake is so magical to me especially in this movie ,love her❤.
Harrison ford is a phenomenal actor.
Man never moves on.
One of my biggest fears is either to be that man or his wife. Ending up with someone who wasnt "the one" for me. Ending up spending my life with someone who never truly considered me being "the one". What is worse?
Let fate decide.

This movie is intense, I love it. Creativeband intense storyline and all the actors are amazing, especially Blake and Harrison.
This scene tear my heart what an acting all of them.
whelp, time to rewatch this movie again.
Absolutely love this film, especially Ellen Burstyn.
What a spectacular scene she was trapped but covered
Anthony Ingruber does an uncanny Harrison Ford, should really play Han Solo in flashbacks etc save a fortune on CGI
He's Harrison's double in Dial of Destiny
@@MrsRosencranz1 not seen it, thought it was all CGI deaging?
@@harryc1971 No, it's deep fake technology combined with deaging. That first 25 minutes is action packed crazy stuff like any Indy movie. Nothing 80 year old Harrison could do. But Anthony can not only imitate Harrison's voice but his body movements as well. He can punch a Nazi like 40 year old Indy and he does.
ONE OF MY FAVOURITE FILMS 🎥
The guy who had to select the song nailed it. Simple twist of fate..
Honestly, this all sounds very romantic but imagine how unfair it is to his wife who loved him dearly and has no idea that her husband still thinks of some other “woman”. She was never “loved” the way she deserved because of him. Maybe another man would have only loved her but she missed that chance by spending her life with him. 🙄
He had let her go a long time ago, but never forgotten her. They seemed happily married. Her sudden reappearance was like seeing a ghost. Life and people are not so neat and in control as we’d like.
@@1101grayzer I don’t know about that , he didn’t even bother telling his wife about her and in the movie he basically said he never stopped thinking about her. I still feel like it wasn’t fair for the wife
@@1101grayzer nah if you genuinely love another woman you no longer behave that way around an ex. the fact he was so shocked means he never truly loved his wife. he didn't care for her feelings at all.
You seem to have the idea that you can only “genuinely” love one person.
@@Sarahbby111 at least he did not named his daughter adeline lol

Well, this Dylan song makes me weep gently, I'll say that much.
You can notice that Adaline was the one that got away for him.
He probably loved her the most of any woman ever.
Because of this scene I now own clear glasses
The mum is the same actor who was in Edward Scissorhands, the neighbour who said "And I'll bring the Ambrosia Salad." She's great.

And such a great song which he can not sing anymore but I could listen to it everyday on the album.
I never heard of this movie but working all the time does that to alot of people.
All these years, it's still Adaline for him
Harrison Ford just takes me there!
"You said that already" 💀
Very eerie, strangely moving scene. Lost love….
Am i the only one that EATS it up when older men do this to me its like my fave thing, i know its a completely dofferent situation but when older men tell me i remind them of their friend from back in the day It makes me so happy like mutual admiration .

I would be maddddd as hell is my wife referred to another dude as an “Extraordinary man” right in front of me. I’d be like, “WTF”

❤All amazing actors! Felt so bad for his wife though.
Ohhh My God I Found This 😢😢😢😢
I’m pretty sure the guy who played young Harrison has a super old video on RUclips of him impersonating Han Solo. If that’s true it’s crazy that he went from that to actually playing a younger version of him in a movie.
