It's such a shame : a few years ago there was a RUclips suite of this , came in at 9:58 if I remember and it was superb, captured all of the best motifs, themes, melodies (in my opinion) , no filler . It doesn't seem to be on here now .
absolutely love Jakes's Jukebox. one of the main things I remembered when I first saw this movie as a kid. was so thrilled to have found it again as an adult.
One of my top ten dumbest, yet most enjoyable movies. "This is not a dating service...but it has been kind of a slow week."--E. Johnson. "Do you work out?"--Lester. "No."--Sam Treadwell. "Well, you should. You've got the body for it. Trim."--Lester. "Sam, I'd rather watch this on TV?"--Cherry 2000.
The 80s had a distinct "sound." As did the 50's, 60's, and 70's. After the sound of the 90's stopped playing, we're all hard pressed to tell the difference between the sound of the 00's, 10's, and 20's. It all sounds like samey repetitive trash.
Cherry 2000 and this Suite were both fantastic. However my enjoyment of the movie was somewhat hampered by Griffith's wooden acting. I do not think it was her fault though. My assumption is that she was told to act tough and aloof, and the director just didn't control her acting well enough.
@updrafttower / No idea what you are talking about. Anyway, we've got Cherry 2000, Twilight, Making Mr. Right, Stepherd wives and the list goes on. All of which are based on someone's idea of perfect mates. As I was trying to say earlier, everybody is guilty of this, therefore it makes no sense to downgrade any particular fan groups.
Why have they made Mel G look so aweful in all the promotional art for this film? This and the DVD cover are horrid depictions of her! In the actual film she's beautiful.
I remember watching this as a child. One of the very, very first movies I ever watched.
This and "True Grit" with John Wayne for me.
A movie about sex robots was one of the first movies you ever watched? Awesome. No way would my parents ever have let me watch this when I was a kid.
best movie
Great movie! Way to underrated.
this was one of the first movies i ever watch with my first vcr and i still like it....

Perfect music score for the best movie
Give this man a Oscar
A posthumous honorary award, yes.
That would be difficult since he passed away a few years ago.
............Mayer Wiener?

At one time this was the most expensive soundtrack. Because of its rarity the average purchase price was $1500.00.
It is still vary expensive if you can run down an original release from Varase ;)
Is this true?

I would say the Lord of the rings soundtrack is an exception to that, but yes in genral you're right.
Not the best movie, but Basil is untouchable.

@updrafttower / All I'm saying is everyone has a spoiled fantasy, so it doesn't make sense to critize any particular one.

What?! She looks awesome on the poster, and I haven't seen the movie lol
