What do FILM photographers shoot when there's nothing to shoot, they find an interesting area where they can test out films, lens or ideas. A spring waterfall became the subject of a quick shoot with a Leica M6 camera, Zeiss lenses and Ilford's SFX200 film.
SFX 200 is a medium speed black & white film with extended red sensitivity which makes it the perfect choice for infra-red style images, however you need filters to bring out the full IR look.
And who doesn't like waterfalls like these beautiful falls in Quebec, Canada's Gatineau Park.
Rob Skeoch is a career photographer, working for five newspapers and wire services before joining the team at Major League Baseball for 17 seasons and the NFL for 14 seasons. Then he was a national manager for the camera group at Sony North America before going back to shooting.
Now he shoots for gallery shows around the world, mostly street work and portraits made with a Rollei twin lens. For 35mm shooting he uses a Nikon F3 and a couple M-mount Leica cameras and shoots mostly Ilford film.
Tips for shooting black and white film, medium format film photography, street photography documentary, photography workflow, zone system photography, cheap medium format cameras, shooting medium format film, budget medium format film cameras, best black and white film, shooting 35mm film for beginners,

Can't wait to see the results! I found the Rollei IR film to be a bit better (and it is available for 4x5, too), but maybe I give the SFX another try.

Just one lens. Or maybe three. Will be interesting to see the comparison results.

I think it will be interesting to see the difference, plus I shot with the IR filter on the 28mm but just with an orange on the other lenses. I'm excited to see what affect the filter has as well.
