Great WIP n Chat, Katie! For a couple of the questions, I like a mix of color blocking and confetti. The color palette I like is a mix of both, too! I love the dark canvases with pops of bright color! And I will never be able to place diamonds with tweezers! Not possible for me. Lol. I've also been doing a dragon kit every month this year. I really like the one I'm working on right now, but I have a lot of large kits and not enough time! Haha I've also been listening to The Wheel of Time for the first time! I've physically read that series a lot, but never listened to it and I'm loving it! 🌼 🌸
🌸Enjoyed this week’s WIP-N-Chat. I have to say I prefer colorful canvases and also one at a time🫣. I may have two going coming up but that’s only b/c I have a small one that will be good for me to practice my multi-placing. I use only a pen too. The placing with tweezers is beyond my skill level.😆 Have a great week and I look forward to your next videos!
💐 I have been re-listening to the Discovery of Witches series since the fifth book just came out. The narrator is amazing and it’s a really engaging story.
🌸 I understand what you mean about the summer heat. We’ve actually had pretty nice weather in North Texas for the past week with highs in the 80s and 90s, but for the next week and a half it will top out at around 100+ and I’m already over it. I couldn’t survive without central air and am really looking forward to cooler weather, which will probably be late fall. I usually have about 3 WIPs at a time - and by that I mean there are diamonds on the canvas. At the moment I have four, but one is a cross stitch conversion, so I don’t really count it as one of the three. One kit will be round and one will be smaller, right now the small one is also rounds. As for confetti vs. color blocking, I prefer confetti. It takes longer, but I find it almost meditative while color blocking bores me to tears and just makes me crazy. When it comes to size, I prefer mid-sized canvases, with small ones thrown in for sanity, but I will pick up a large one if the subject is compelling enough. The kit I’m working on right now, “Gethsemane” by Mandie Manzano, is actually pretty big (92 x 56), but my whole family really liked it - very unusual - so I got it.
I have a huge diamond painting project and temperature blanket I started for my little sister and I started on a scarf today and finished a marvel mural for my big sister and finished my brother’s temperature blanket couple weeks ago and I love your Mondays videos I can’t wait to see your finished diamond painting ☺️😊 still one of my favorites besides diamond painting and Dr.pepper and Mrs coffee and Rachel Rae and emeralds and fairy lights but your the top one .
🐞 I usually have 3 kits kitted up..one large and two 30 X 40s to break up the routine..I love confetti but don't mind blocking..since I am retired..I painting ALL day long🤗...if weather permits, I will walk in the pool at my apt for 30 min a day for exercise..but..I watch you tube vids of Diamond Painters while I paint all day!!!! Lots of joy!!
I currently have 3 WIPs, but I am more comfortable working on one dp at a time. I am currently watching the newer Fruits Baskets. The original is a favorite of mine. Thank you for keeping me company while I doodled in my sketchbook .
Hi Katie! Thank you for another great WIP n chat 🌻I used to be a one WIP at a time kind of diamond painter, but then I started trying to juggle too many events and discovered enhancements.. so I currently have 2 WIPs going and that is causing me severe anxiety. I am hoping to finish at least one before Drills and Chills starts.
Thanks for the chat! I worked on several sections of a 30x40 cm canvas. It's a mushroom patch under a crescent moon. I love forest settings, so it's been a pleasure so far. Thanks for all the small biz kit recommendations as well. 🌼 🌸 🌻 🌹 🏵 🌼
I only work on one kit at a time as I have such a small space to work in. I loved your comment about “wizardry of tweezers”, as I can’t seem to pick up a single drill with tweezers…though I can magically shoot them across the room into nothingness.😂 I’m currently listening to Making It So by Patrick Stewart, who is also the reader. 🌻
This was very enjoyable, thank you so much! I am brand new to diamond painting and found your channel looking for tips and tricks to get started. My first piece is Fairy Bunny, and I worked along with you gleaning all sorts of good info during your WIP and chat! I am looking forward to many more of your videos. ☺
🪻 Thanks Katie! I am doing ok. I usually work on 1 kit at a time, and only work with a pen, with the excpetion of large special drills. I definitely have a preference for colourfull kits with a mix of confetti and colour blocking. I was working on dragon kit earlier this year, the dragon and beasties one, that you also did. I was gifted train of dreams, so planning to work on that sometime too.
🪻 Enjoyed the wip & chat. While I was listening, kitting up my lion for oz in Aug. I'm almost done with Cypresses by Van Gogh for SWTM. Have a great week.❤
Hey Katie Thank you for this week's WIP and Chat I enjoyed listening to your stories while I Diamond Painted a Mother Daughter Water Song Diamond Painting Your Diamond Painting is looking good sounds like your summer is going great 🪻
🌼🪷 Nice WIP n Chat. I enjoy these a bunch. I'm working on a Dreamers Designs that is almost done, and I've enjoyed the canvas a lot. It's called Tony, it's a steam punk Tiger. 🐯
Hi Katie! Didnt get to watch your WIP and chat until evening. Still in awe of that cross stitch conversion! Just finished my first row of Blue Field Memories. So much confetti but I am loving it! I have 2 WIPs-one large one at home that I really love and a snack size kit to travel with.😊🌸
🌻🌻Always love your videos!! Forgot to answer last this question last week, but I never open my kits until I’m ready to work on it so 🤞🏻🤞🏻 that doesn’t come to bite me!!
I feel the same way about people who can place with tweezers. It's truly magical to watch but I'll NEVER be able to do it! Haha! I'm working on Art Shop this week from MrsButterD. Absolutely love the colors. They make me happy! 🌻
I got artist room by Mrs butter D for my bday and it's my first DAC kit ever, I'm about to kit it up, I absolutely adore the pastel colors but I'm a bit nervous because I've never done a painting this big before. Excited but nervous haha I honestly didn't realize how big they really are, it's hard to really grasp until you see them in person!
I have about 6 kitted up but I am actively working on 2 as of right now. Elemental Battle from DAC and Scorpio by JWall from DPD. I managed to snag the 2 new Avatar releases from DAC today as well! Super excited to have them in my collection.
In my admittedly limited experience, I've found Evermoment to be really generous with their trash allowances so personally I would hold off on buying more unless it actually looks like you're running out 💖
Thank you for the WIP and chat, Katie. I typically only work on 1 kit at a time. Once in a great while, I will work on 2 if I am doing some events and the kit doesn't cross over. I have tried to keep up with you on 1 dragon painting a month but I haven't been able to keep up with you. 😊 I am currently working on my first cross-stitch conversion of Randal Spanglers Reading Time. And it is taking a lot longer than I ever thought it would. For the other questions, I am a landscape diamond painter so even though I love color, it's usually darker colors and obviously, they are usually huge paintings that take forever to complete and are dull of confetti. I am not a huge fan of color blocking. I only use a pen, never tweezers. And now that I said so much, I can't remember the other questions. Hope you all have a great week and find something fun to do!
Hi Katie! I’ve been trying to participate in your dragon paint along. I work on bigger canvases and take a little longer dragon pieces I’ve finished all from DAC have been Mystery #10 by Stanley Morrison, Mystery #52 by Christina Yen, Apple Dragon by Stanley Morrison and Irish Coffee Dragon by Stanley Morrison. I’ll answer a coupe of your questions. I usually have 2 WIPs going at the same time, I prefer a mix of confetti and color blocking but prefer confetti over color blocking. Favorite season to diamond paint will have to be summer I love seascapes! Have a good week
Hi Katie. This WIP and chat was awesome as always. Is there anyway you can film a WIP of you working on you temperature dragon Okay to answer your a couple of your questions that you asked. I work on two WIPs at a time. One at home and one at my volunteer site. I like to work on pieces with a mixture of graffiti and color blocking. I love to see the details of the object come to life, however there are colors that I hate graffiti and that are the colors that have similar shades like green or brown that are hard to make out. I definitely will not tweezers I will use a pen. I like spring time kits. The kits that I call that have flowers on them, or really colorful such as pastel. But I also love landscapes. I can’t wait to hear from you
Hi Katie, I love your WIP and chats. I’m curious about the conversion project. Do you have any videos where you explain exactly what you are doing and how to do one?
Hi! I have a playlist dedicated to various cross stitch conversions I’ve done, and I think I go over the process in a few of those videos. I think this unboxing goes into some details too: ruclips.net/video/N5LCMkzMvlU/видео.htmlsi=DDiImRB_17MR72Dc
Interesting how Crissabug worked that out given how things went down with Hannah Lynn. I keep thinking that there is more to the HL story - DAC doesn’t seem to be forcing artists to be exclusive to them. And I am sure Jade is doing her own charting in her own charting style for kits that were previously released by DAC.
🌸I am currently finishing up Reading Time for my granddaughter. I have three wipes going right now, soon to be four, but I plan to have them done by the end of the year. I want to thank you for introducing me to a lot of amazing small shops. I am really enjoying wee wax, Donna Bass, and candylicious right now. Also, I was glad to hear about your experience with Dreamer designs. I worked on a canvas from them, and had a very difficult time with the Diamond quality, and getting them to stick. I am so glad there are a lot more small shops to choose from.
🪻Enjoyed the WHIP and chat. During this i finished “Jesus Blessing” by Mandie Manzano. 👏 working through my WIPs. Next up “Treasure Quest”. Thank you for the company. Your panels are coming along so well. Glad you’ve gone back to it for a while. I generally have a square and a round going at the same time. Square can drive me crazy as I’m kind of OCD about the fitting of them, but a large majority of my stash are large square paintings. Enjoy your week ahead. Peace and love abide with you💕
I've just realised that completely by fluke, my last 3 diamond paintings have been dragons! I worked on Afternoon Tea by Randal Spangler, then The Dragon's Door by Ravynne Phelan and now I'm finishing up Dragon Spirit by Margaret Morales. I haven't planned what will be next, but it will likely be a square drill as my current is round. I tend to alternate so I don't get burnt out unless a particular kit catches my fancy. I don't work on a lot of events, but I will be participating in Drills and Chills and have that one already picked out. 🐉
Hi Katie! I ordered my first CSC materials this weekend! I'm excited. I've been following yours for a while now. I got an Ariel mini princess panel. Creations Morin is doing a CSC event in November. Also hoping I can do it for Nautical November at the same time. Wish me luck!!
🪻Right now I am working on a large project a Chuck Pinson that is PURE confetti "Fly Fishing Legacy" for my husband. I've had to take breaks and work on some smaller pieces but I normally only like to have up to 2 WIPS at a time. Thx 4 sharing your thoughts!
🪻🌼🪻Hello Katie! I always enjoy your WIP and chat. I just finished my summer with the masters piece Cafe Terrace at Night by Vincent Van Gogh. I look forward to participate next year. Is there a site that shows what diamond painting events are planned? I love fall and Halloween so I’m looking forward to drills and chills 👻🎃🍁. I do have a question for you. I am having issues with the squares getting too tight and the drill keeps popping out. Do you know what I’m doing wrong or any suggestions to fix the problem?
I hear so many people speaking on behalf of AI but don't really hear people speak about why it's problematic. I once reached out to a seller and simply asked they disclose that it's AI, so I don't inadvertently make a purchase (it had happened with another company), and they became rude. Cleared up that situation as I will never be purchasing from them. Why can't civil conversations be had about this, and why can't they just annotate if the image was created with AI? It seems simple enough to me. I'm just as entitled to my feelings about it but feel alone. It's bullying to silence people who don't agree with AI.
Back to Diamond painting after a 2 week break!!! Also loves your WIP n chats!🌺🌷🌹🪻🌸🌼

Oh that’s a fun idea!! I’ll have to see if she’s up for that!

You might consider the Crystal Singer trilogy by Anne McCaffrey.
Thank you! I’ve read her Dragonriders of Pern series and love her work 😍
Universe in a Jar was my very first DAC purchase and finish back in 2021. So that was special to me too.
💜💜💜
Are you ever going to do the mystery dragon kit? I think that was one of the first videos I watched and I'm SO curious to see it finished!
Hi! I don’t have a mystery kit in mind to work on at the moment, but it would be fun to do one again!
🌺
Thanks, got alot accomplished . I love WIPs, 😂🌸 Vickie from SE Pa
