    Thank you for speaking out about DAC. They have hurt so many people, myself included. I have never seen a company that makes non-essential products behave and operate as though they can take or leave their customers despite claiming otherwise. They seem to have no ability to reflect on their behavior. Honestly, I don’t enjoy Diamond Painting nearly as much as I used to after interacting with DAC…it just reminds me of being treated poorly 🥺. Shout out to cross stitch for being cheaper and more portable.

    Thank you for sharing this and seeing that they need to be more professional. They probably talked about us in the discord because we acquired a Diamond painting company and they spread lies about us to fit their narrative because they see us as competition (we sell a tiny fraction of the volume they do). They told the sneak peek team that they had to choose doing videos for us or them and so it’s really limited the exposure we could get since they monopolize so many creators in the community. They even said that we couldn’t sponsor a big event in the community if the hosts wanted them to sponsor still. So it’s made it very hard. We are a small veteran owned business (my husband retired after 20 years in the Air Force) and we give our business everything we have. We’ve been in the community since 2020 and they had no issues until they saw us competition. So, it makes it really difficult when they are giving people ultimatums and monopolizing everyone. If you would like to review one of our kits we’d be happy to send you one. We can be reached on Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok.

    I do a lot of lurking rather than writing, but I'm glad you spoke your peace and you spoke up. I used to recommend DAC to many due to the quality of their canvases and being the "premium" brand out there in diamond painting. However, I've noticed stuff for several months now thats made me feel a bit scummy buying from them and my support at this moment for them is gone until I see some major changes.
    There's been more and more proof coming out of how they treat customers and ban them for asking questions or having negative opinions. I too have felt like I've had to walk on eggshells when discussing them because of how easy it is to get banned and how openly known in the community that it is to get banned. Honestly, no company is worth working with when you have to act like that. Then other facebook groups starting to be really specific and picky if you ask questions in regards to DAC behavior just left me with a bad taste in my mouth. It comes off as cult like when it comes to DAC as a brand and that's toxic as heck.
    All opinions are ok to have as long as they are respectful, both good and bad and DAC refuses to allow for any negative opinions to the point of bullying. I can't support it anymore, no matter how much I love the artists artworks. If I want it that bad, I'll go buy a print of it to have in my home instead.
    I've seen a rumor on Reddit recently talking about how DAC has behaved in their content creator discord and making fun of consumers asking for their accounts back and stuff that got banned. I'm hoping that's not the case, but there's been a lot of intuition telling me that it is probably close to true with the rumors. Especially after seeing DAC doxx customers on places like Reddit before. Not acceptable behavior of any company in any way.
    FOMO marketing is also not consumer friendly and that is the bread and butter of DAC. I don't like it and it feels predatory in many ways. Supply chain issues can't be blamed for everything. At some point we have to admit it is by design to not make enough canvases or guarantee a restock or two and that's causing a buying frenzy and hoarding problem for folks. Rather than buying what you need and know that something is going to be there when you're ready, you have to "buy now or risk losing it forever" and that preys on emotions and takes advantage of wallets that shouldn't have that burden. That hurts, not helps the customers/community in the long run.
    That also hurts small businesses because money someone may have had for the small company gets taken by the bigger one that does the FOMO business style instead to not "lose out" on a possible limited time offering that none of us know is limited time offered until it is gone.
    Seeing how Hannah Lynn was treated and hearing rumors of how other artists were treated was that proverbial straw that broke the camels back for me with DAC. I've tried to look the other way on all the other stuff and defend it as "business decisions" and "they will learn in time as a maturing company does..." type of lines.
    Big thing though, I do licensed artworks to support the ARTISTS, otherwise, I wouldn't be throwing so much money and just buy something much cheaper off of Amazon or Temu instead. If I don't back the artists who are the heart and soul of this hobby at the end of the day, why am I doing this hobby? DAC has a lot to answer for and improve upon and until that happens, I can't support them anymore.
    The customer mistreatment and the doxxing of customers and just childish behavior behind the scenes that I keep hearing about is just icing on the cake for me to further my stance on this one.
    We as customers can't change how a business acts, but we can speak with our wallets by not supporting those that can't behave appropriately towards others. If we don't, we send a message loud and clear that we support and encourage the wrong behaviors to continue.
    It takes a lot of guts to stand up and say you're no longer an affliate, especially with the way the cult like behaviors that will bring the nastiest out of folks could come for you if you speak out. I'm glad you did open up, because believe me, there's plenty of us out there that are waiting for that moment that it feels safer to speak about real issues in regards to DAC and the community right now. If we don't speak, we don't have a chance to raise awareness to try and fix it either. So thank you for speaking up and giving others like myself a chance to speak with you.

      Do you realize that DAC is privately owned, not publicly traded, by a woman? She built the business from the ground up by herself, and now has grown into a large company. She has limited runs of kits to avoid having a bunch of kits that don't sell and taking a loss. People choose to purchase, so the FOMO-buying is their choice. She also has to protect her interests, and the contracts are pretty straightforward. I think a lot of the artists are so excited to have a contract that perhaps they don't read it carefully, causing these issues when they decide they want to move on. I don't have a dog in the fight, I'm just calling it as I see it. Only certain artists complain, the rest are obviously happy with their situation. It seems the artists that complain the most are the ones who want to breech the contract, start their own business using DAC's work (rendering, etc), or some other way that goes against the contract. Both sides want to be right, and both sides are trying to protect their assets. The difference is, the artists are out there making all the noise while DAC is legally forced to remain quiet. I'm going to wait until the court case is over and see the outcome before I allow public opinion, or either side's argument, to influence my thinking.

      @@imissnj2 😂 her name is just on the company. Multiple artists have said they’ve never spoken or emailed or had any interaction with her. Alex is the CEO and who is running the company. Angie Shehaj is a realtor. DAC does not legally have to remain quiet. The truth about how badly and illegally this company behaves will all be exposed soon enough. I’ve just filed a countersuit for all of the horrible things they’ve done to me.

    • @rekacolour
      @rekacolour 28 дней назад +1

      @@imissnj2 just my personal 2 cents here: from what i have read in the Hannah Lynn rabbit hole I think the bit about DAC not wanting other companies to use their renderings is reasonable and justified. Their graphic designers do a stellar job at rendering and it's easy to tell a DAC charting apart from any other company. Besides being very good they also have a unique style that is very clear and clean. I can't imagine how it could be OK to take their rendering which is their IP and let other companies profit off of them.
      That said I am of the belief that just because a company is woman owned it shouldn't be immune to scrutiny and accountability. If DAC has been guilty of toxic behaviour they need to be held accountable regardless of the gender of the founder/owner. That said I think airing the whole lawsuit in the open is kind of tacky and doesn't reflect well on any party in my eyes.

    • @imissnj2
      @imissnj2 28 дней назад

      @@rekacolour I wasn't making any excuses based on the owner being a woman. My point was more about it being privately owned rather than a corporation like many people think. I keep reading "big corporation" and "they" like a board or a committee.

    You made a great point about affiliates having to promote their products and I can tell when an affiliate is gushing and oohing and aahing and it’s phoney. You know they don’t love the painting THAT much, they’re just in it for the free stuff. I’m trying to remain neutral, but man, the more I hear about DAC the more I may wanna curb my purchases from them. Not boycott but maybe not purchase as many from them. They really don’t like any kind of criticism, even constructive, and that’s a shame. And it isn’t only Zoe who is saying they’re acting like they have a monopoly on the diamond art community. They seem to be really snotty and holier-than-thou about any other company, and that’s going to make them crash and burn at some point. It’s also really sad what’s going on with Hannah Lynn too and I hope both parties can come to some kind of agreement soon. This is just more behavior if a company trying to monopolize an art form and I really hope they get the message to stop, or else they’re going to lose a massive following. I hate drama. There are so many other shops I’m purchasing from anyways right now. I’ll take a break from DAC and kind of wait to see what happens I guess.

    Hey Zoe, so great to see you again! I love the vibe in your house, the sunlight on the soft pastels. I'd never want to leave and it looks as though you get to work from home. I don't know what you do but I hope you don't stress too much about your new position because you WANT to do a good job in it, you WILL. I don't know where you live (Pacific Northwest? Midwest?) but I don't remember seeing that much green since I was taking a train ride in England. Of course as my name implies, I do live in the desert and nothing much will grow here. That's probably why I am drawn to very colorful diamond paintings with not too much brown in it, lol. I have to say that you and Andrew make the cutest couple and I am happy for you both! I'm not happy to hear that you fall ill frequently. I'll have to go back to some of your other videos to refresh what your health concerns are but anyway, you don't come across as a complainer! My Home Goods is kinda far away and probably wouldn't have your cup with lavender (my favorite color) flowers anyway -- your whole collection of mugs is to die for! As for the DAC thingie, I think everyone must listen to their heart on that one just as you did. It will tell you to do just the right thing for you. We will never know the legal goings on behind the scenes and anyway, who wants to hear my two cents' worth? I couldn't do what any of you content creators do and just keep the videos coming every week. I think it would take the fun out of it. Anyway, the peek into your life, your hubby, your bestie and your kitties and your books is the best part of your sharing. It does seem like DAC is bullying the artists, if they want to clarify contracts going forward that is fine but they way they are going after Hannah Lynn is not right. If it's true that DAC is now suing that really is distasteful since DAC is a large company with so many more resources than an independent artist trying to make a career. I really hope that you find some more ethical diamond painting companies to work with in the future.

    • @imissnj2
      @imissnj2 Месяц назад

      I hate to keep saying this, but yes it's a large company; it is owned by a woman who built the company by herself. ITs not a corporation with a board or committee running it. When it was new, the kits stayed available for a long time, but as the popularity grew so fast, she doesn't order excessive amounts of kits because she also can't take the loss of hundreds or thousands of kits sitting around that don't sell. She ends up giving them away as a free mystery deal when the stock isn't moving. I also don't believe she is "going after" Hannah Lynn. From what I understand, the artist was trying to use DAC renderings with other companies. Can you see how that could be considered wrong? So that is the battle going on. Ms. Lynn has her side and believes she is right, the owner of DAC has her side and believes she is right. So that's why they are in a legal battle. It's not bullying, its legalities.

    People are over reacting to DAC's decisions and legal affairs. It's because they like an artist, and don't take the time to find out the facts. They just go by social media's opinions. Whatever, both sides have their story. I think you used the issue in your title to get clicks, because you don't have to explain to the public your private decisions. Your opinions are yours, and you have a right to them, but this legal battle has all kinds of opinions out there, and its really getting old having all the good diamond painting channels talking about it and taking sides. The artist is not doing right by talking about an ongoing legal battle, and the company is having to make statements as well to refute some of the erroneous things being said everywhere. Let's just wait and see the outcome instead of dragging it out in social media (which seems to have become social media court lately, deciding winners and losers before all the facts are known). Unpopular opinion, but it's my opinion, just like everyone else doing videos and commenting.

    • @zoeedelaney

      I appreciate your opinion! Opinions matter and are important to share, especially when we're the consumers of an expensive product. I really don't (and didn't) have much commentary on the legal/artist situation (other than sharing what was going on at the time I was filming). My departure from DAC was because I witnessed a company doxxing and making fun of their consumers, stirring the pot amongst their content creators. Yes, that decision was a personal one -- That is something I could never align myself with or be a part of. However, personal decision aside, if we choose to ignore this kind of behavior and stay silent, how can things change for the better? I can understand that it may be frustrating for you to see this discourse happening about one of your favorite hobbies, but imagine being on the receiving end of a company acting this way. It's not okay. I stand by posting this video and adding to a conversation that needs to happen.
