    FYI, On Temu, if you scroll through the pictures when looking at the product, there is usually one page of measurements that shows the actual dimensions of the drill field.

    Love your long videos and these recent reviews! Some of the people in the comments are so unnecessarily hateful. If people click on a long form video, they really should listen to the whole thing so they have context. Good lord. I could never be a youtuber with all these keyboard warriors. You're way nicer in your responses than I ever could be. 😂

    Unless the artist of this diamond painting got permission from Ghibli to use this image, then she stole it in the first place. These images are under copyright law which makes it a crime to use images unless given permission. So...................just saying!

    • @knits4sanity

      I addressed this in another comment too. Yes, you are right, but I am willing to grant some leniency bc the original item was a one-time, made-by-request item. It was never intended to be mass produced. While her tiny, single creation that garnered her maybe $10 profit was technically illegal, I feel our much larger fight here is with the companies that scour the internet looking for images to mass produce on arts and crafts, home goods, clothing, etc.

      I agree that there needs to be affordable access to this hobby. The goal of this video is trying to find open source and/or AI art (also problematic but beyond the scope here) on TEMU, because stealing independent artists’ work bothers ME. But only you know YOUR situation and your feelings on the matter. I do not attempt to, nor do I want to, dictate that. I only want to make people aware of where some of this art comes from and why it can be viewed as problematic. In the end, I conclude that some TEMU shops offer some pretty great kits and that’s what I was excited to share.

  • @thisandthat418

    I like the craft as a way to pass time, similar to a jigsaw, I don't frame or display them in any way so they don't need to be perfect and I don't need fancy tools. Having seen videos of how diamond painting kits are made, I wouldn't want to spend the outrageous price some companies charge for the same thing Temu and Amazon are selling at a more realistic price. I will happily continue to buy from affordable online market places

    • @knits4sanity
      @knits4sanity  12 дней назад

    • @knits4sanity
      @knits4sanity  Месяц назад

      Yes, you are absolutely correct. In the case of this artist, I am willing to forgive her as she was not mass producing it. The original art was for one person as a single item. While it may technically have needed approval from Studio Ghibli, I doubt they would pursue a single time, single item creation. Their interests would be far better vested in pursuing the companies that then steal the fan art.

I served my country and have PTSD and I unsubscribed because people who are unemployed and have to use places like Temu do not need to be made to feel bad for buying from the cheaper places. We do it for an outlet and do not need to be reminded it might be stolen artwork. I get the fact that the artist is not getting recognition and $ for their art. I can understand. Believe me if I had a job and no medical condition I'd gladly spend what you all do for legit art work. Again I'm sorry if you think I was mean/hateful or uncaring. Thank you for this video! I have found things via Google Image from Temu and not been sure the other place/person didn't also steal/borrow that image. It's very hard to tell. Just because someone put it on Etsy or elsewhere doesn't always mean it's their original art either. I'm just saying it's confusing for me. Also, names like Senterwan are just wild guesses as to what sounds like an English brand name -- most of the ones on Amazon that are from Chinese companies have nonsensical odd names. Senter would not be Chinese -- wan does sound Chinese -- but Senterwan doesn't mean anything and isn't Chinese.

      Despite not liking the square drills as much as their round, I was not worried that they would not work. Generally, you get more than enough drills in a kit, so any of the odd sized ones you should be able to toss and still have enough to complete the kit.
