  • Is the Fliteboard Ultra L2 a game changer?
Well it certainly glides better than the previous Ultra L.
Also check out Adam Bennetts vid • CAN YOU BELIEVE IT'S A...
Obviously he is heaps better than the likes of me. He really demonstrates what can be achieved with talent and good waves.

What are your thoughts on the propeller v the jet? Also for someone who doesn’t live in a place with good waves how does the L2 Ultra compare to the Pro series 3 for just riding around in a bay with minimal waves?

Sorry I didn’t get back to you. I didn’t get notification for some reason. Just to be clear the L2 is also equipped with the new carbon mast and smaller motor. You could certainly set up a pro this way by purchasing a pro board and buying the wave version of the Marc Newson mast. Don’t think there would be a lot of point to doing it though. In some respect you’re almost better off buying a pro and extra Fliteair for a friend. 😊

Does the new smaller motor feel like it has less power? Does this board get better battery range with its lower drag and smaller motor? Can't wait to get mine?

To be honest, I didn’t ride that particular one for long enough during my demo to tell you if you get better battery life. The motor does have plenty of power although the two blade prop doesn’t grip as well meaning you need to use a higher gear to get started. Once I was riding though I was generally riding on speed two or three on the gears. Sorry for the late response for some reason I wasn’t getting my notifications.

Can you try it with a sport battery and a 1000 wing? Im wondering how difficult it is to pump with

I didn’t get a chance at the time, but I would say it would be a little bit more difficult. I would be misleading people if I made it seem like you could use this to replace a prone board. This is most certainly still an e-Foil and should be ridden as such. It’s great that you can write a wave underpowered but I don’t think there is a lot of point trying to pump off the back of the wave and double dip. Adam Bennetts certainly able to do it but for the rest of us mortals it would be a bit of a challenge.

Do you think fliteboards are pretty durable generally? It's gonna take me a year to save a for a $16 000 ultra L2.
It's the price of a car, I wanna make sure it can last a while if I decide to ride it surfing waves powered and unpowered every day in Hawaii.
Since I can't surf anymore because of a neck injury due to 20 years of paddling, an e-foil would literally change my life forever! I'm so tired of staying inside my house all the time while I live in Hawaii... I need to find a wave to catch waves without ruining my neck and shoulder with all the paddling...
Anyhow.. thanks for the answer in advance! Love your videos! Very informative!

Don’t worry, Flite are the most reliable and durable, I know by my experience with different brands, and professionals renting them, after dumping other brands as well, have had zero problem with their units for a full season or more. I am very busy, have no time to baby my Ultra, and have had zero issue despite that, +- 35 sessions and I bought it second had.

Sorry, I hadn’t got back to you for some reason. I wasn’t receiving notifications. I think Fliteboard should potentially change their tagline from Find Freedom to Done Paddling. You should most certainly save up for one. I have had a customer up to about 100 kg riding an Ultra L2. I would suggest however that about 80 kg is the sweet spot. To be honest, my neck gives me a bit of grief if I paddle for too long. You should definitely save up and get a Fliteboard.
