    Aside from surfing, for down winding and depowered pumping small waves do you prefer the foot straps or was there another reason you always use them? I'm looking to get an Ultra and planned for the Ultra L. I mainly do flatwater but hope to get into wake stealing and downwind depowered on the Columbia river.

      If I still had an eFoil I’d be getting the L2 which doesn’t have strap inserts, but I’m waiting for the FliteLab Amp Jet
      My background was kiting in boots so I prefer the feel of straps, although after this was filmed I added another insert on the Freon foot as I was never fully satisfied with the stance

    Hi Paul great video I’m in Perth too coming from kitesurfing to wing surfing now just waiting for my efoil to be delivered. So hope to see you out one day, one of your video of you kitesurfing the video quality is not as good as this one? Why is that

      Nice! Which board did you buy? If you're talking about the Cocos Islands clip, it probably just exported at a lower quality when I migrated over from Vimeo

    I appreciate your video. I am working on getting into waves, most often in a lake that is filled with wake surfers who dont mind me hovering. I am curious about speed. You mentioned you were mostly at level 4 power but that could mean a lot depending on your weight, the wing, etc. What is the range of typical speeds as you turn into a wave? On the lake, where wake surf boats go 11-13 mph I have trouble flying slowly enough. But I am working on it. I am curious about speed in the ocean.

      check out some of my other videos - particularly the powerless downwinding and ferry wake thieving - where I discuss this more. On a 900 flow / 75kg you’re really nudging the stall speed at any less than 20kph

    Hey Paul. Thanks for the insightful and thought provoking video. I have done a similar downsizing of batteries, only being over 100kg I've gone from a single Exporer Flitecell to 2 Sports batteries. I'm very happy with my series 3 Pro board and the 80cm mast. I also love the Flow wings! Being heavier my go to wing is the Flow 1300, I also have a 1300S for calmer conditions. I usually pair with the 245 stab, but I'm going to try pairing with the 300 jet just to add and little more pitch stability, without hopefully loosing much responsiveness. Regards sharks, have you thought about getting a Sharkbanz? From the research I've done they seem pretty effective.

    • @paularity_
      @paularity_  Год назад +1

      Yeah nice! Didn't you buy one of those wings of me haha?! I think Sharkbanz are more of a psychological device, there is no way a tiny magnet is going to stop a GWS coming at you at 60kph! Read this - www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6120439/ Ocean Guardian seem to be legit, but wouldn't work on a Fliteboard. Plus I just don't spend enough time actually flailing in the water to worry

      @@paularity_ close I bought a Flow 1100 off you, I think it was an 1100S? Funnily enough I never got to try it out as the guy who bought my 100 litre 2.2 wanted it as part of the deal. So it has the distinction of being the only wing I have bought but never actually used. Regards the Sharkbanz, yer I'm a little sceptical too just thought I'd mention it as some of the Fliteboarders in San Fran Bay seem to regard them highly.

      I discuss it in the video, but yes it's better on the Ultra less clipping the square back rail in the chop and allows you to turn harder

    • @paularity_

      just the pitch on a Fliteboard by design, you can shim the front wing to level it out

      reducing weight is going to be a better performance regardless of the shorter ride time - I wouldn't recommend either. If anything get a EcoFlow Delta Max 2000 power station and charge your Nano on the go @@worthingtoncp
