This is INSANE! if Rasing minimum wage can resolve poverty, why not increase it to $2000 per hour so everyone can be a millionaire?
Of course anyone with common sense knows it would not work. Insane high minimum wage would not make a society better, only increasing the productivity will. By destroying the people's ability to enter into a service contracts by the free will of two parties, it will only lower the productivity of a society and make everyone more poor in return.

Minimal wage should not exist. If no employer is willing to pay you X$ for your job, even after thorough negotiation, it means that your work is simply not worth more to them. Majority of employers are not going to submit because it could even mean that the service they are providing that utilizes your work stops being profitable. They will either fire you, reduce your work hours, change the business model by looking for alternatives like automation or have to shut down themselves altogether.

Mc Donald's will now pay $20 per hour which is good for those witu jobs in the fsst food chain, but it will reduce the number of jobs as tye food chain will redice the number of employees per franchise which it has already done in anticipation of this increase. Have you noticed all the self serve kiosks in Taco bell, Mc D's? AI will replace humans as with the Waymo self driving cars which taxi around people in SF. This is a false flag headline folks. In California, Pizza deliver drivers get paid as servers while they are delivering pizzas, which is around $2.25. However for the limited time they are in the store folding boxes, cleaning, oiling pans, or even making dough, they get paid the minimum wage advertised $15.50.
The store charges about a $4 delivery fee, but the driver only gets $1.50 (if they are lucky).
Drivers usually leave the store with about 4 orders and take about 45 minutes out of the store. Therefore 4 orders at $4 deliver charge, means $16 to the store. They pay the driver $1.50 each order, so they get $6, and the PH keeps $10. The salary paid is ¾ hour, times $2.50, or $1.69. So from the $16, driver gets $6 deliver fee and $1.69 salary. From the deliver the PH gets $8.31 in profit. The driver can make $6 + $1.69 = $7.69 plus any tips.
This layoff is a business decision because of the liability issues with delivery and insurance, not because of the minimum wage, and automation you will never see behind the scenes.
How can PH save money? 1. No deliver liability insurance. 2. Order takers jobs will be gone. 3. Mistakes will be paid for by DD if misdelivered. 4. PH’s expensive computer telephone ordering system with GPS directions and order history will not need to be maintained. 5. PH will still charge a delivery fee (most likely) which will be used to pay DD their order fee.

Now, if you were online and made a bad order, let's say I wanted deep dish but hit the hand tossed button. Since there was no confusion when a printer prints out what they want at the store, the buyer was the one hitting the keys, not the PH order taker.
I am making some assumptions here, but I can certainly see a test market where ordering will even be passed over to another company along with liability.
PH customer service may well go in the drain if another company takes the orders.
I delivered pizzas as a supplement throughout my 18yo -15 yo life. Unfortunately my bro lives in SOCAL and b/c this choice still supplements income driving pizzas. in his 50's. The cost of living there is insane!
