here is the thing. (now I am an Australian) so. that being said we get more money. but guess what. we pay more for rent food fuel/ (well except eggs I guess) but yeah it is pretty expensive. and the more a business has to pay and gets taxed the less workers they get. (they invest in alot of things like robots and self serve) if govt cared. (which they don't) they would outlaw things like self serve like at mickies. and grocery stores. (and they would banned robots like robot fork lifts etc) and instead hire people. they should actually tax a little less if they do. and tax real high if they do. they also need to make less taxes like pay roll etc. and put min wage down etc.

I told her that when we do a 5 or 10 year anniversary, I'll upgrade the ring. In a few years I got a job in web development and was making almost triple my income. And I surprised her with a ring set that she really loved. And it still was only around $700. She actually told me before not to spend more than $1000 on a ring. This is the story of so many people. Yes some responsibility falls on the people for choices they've made, but the system is also not making things easier. It's a small group at the top who are trying to keep things to stay the same while their money keeps going up. The one woman said something that I think is a huge fear of a lot of people. It's the whole stepping outside your comfort zone to try and improve your situation. It's easy to get complacent and comfortable. We all have those moments. I did notice a lot of the people featured live in cities with a high cost of living. Would like to have seen people from more around the country.
I know so many people who go into crazy debt for a engagement/wedding. It's all about impressing other people. Wonder why the wedding industry is a billion dollar industry. My wedding was simple and people granted a lot of favors. The money we saved was used for home improvement and travel.

My job was 100 % mentally and 100% physical. I ended up having a stroke, high blood pressure and a pulmonary embolism from working so hard. I'm currently trying to get disability because my body is damaged from all the hard work and little pay. My body just shut down from having to work 7 days a week to make ends meet.

"It seems to me to be equally plain that no business which depends for existence on paying less than living wages to its workers has any right to continue in this country."
"Throughout industry, the change from starvation wages and starvation employment to living wages and sustained employment can, in large part, be made by an industrial covenant to which all employers shall subscribe."
These excerpts are from the statement U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt made when he signed the National Recovery Act - the act that implemented the original minimum wage in the U.S. in 1933
Minimum wage was implemented to *ensure* a living wage. Anyone who says otherwise is either completely ignorant of history or outright lying to you.

No matter who you were if you had a child food would be distributed throughout the community favoring children. In the past less than 1% of time that humans have been around we have entirely and aggressively restructured the way we live our lives. Compassion is aggressively lacking to the point that we now believe people who don't make enough money due to factors out of their own control don't deserve the fundamental Human Experience of having a child. There seems to be an unfortunate trend here. Having kids. You can get birth control for free from planned parenthood. It’s much harder to lift yourself out of poverty when you have dependents to lift out with you

Part of the fortune of being on the other side of the screen is having grown up in a family or environment that values waiting to have kids and knowing where to get contraceptives.

@@trawrtster6097basic education in the states should go over this lol. Like someone not knowing they can get pregnant from sex once is just sad. Knowing to use protection and about your body should be taught. I think they should also cover the cost of children too cause people don’t seem to understand how much it is.

@@Dgnmuse I don’t think the people in the video are so dumb as to not understand how pregnancy happens. It’s just that they grow up in families where waiting and trying to achieve higher education isn’t valued.
