    Great video.
What you forgot to mention is the tuning of their tops. They sand the thickness down in different areas to ensure the best vibration possible for the best sound and sustain.
What I love about Furch is that they build their innovations in all their guitars. Even the cheapest ones.
All that sound and innovation and quality for a good price. No extra charge for the company name, like some other premium brands seem to do.

I've had my Furch Vintage 2 slope shoulder dreadnaught for a couple months now. I love it even more now than when I bought it. I can play it 6-8 hours at a time. Like a Larrivee to me it seems between the brightness of Taylor and warmth of Martin. But comparing it other guitars it stood out as being so ALIVE. projects like a cannon lol. I do more fingerpicking than strumming but do both and even the dreadnaught has such a dynamic range it records fingerpicking really well. Took me some experimentation with mic placement but with a pair of Lewitt LCT 040 I can get highs and lows without boominess. Feels great. Plays great. Sounds amazing. Lifetime guitar. Sorry Eastman. You make a great guitar for the price but the Furch just... wins

You should try out the Furch nylons, absolutely superb! I bought mine on a whim and ended up selling my lowden nylon because the furch was better at 1/4 of the price!

I'm lucky enough to own a Rainbow, GA woth theor top quality Alpine Moon spruce top and a Cocobolo body
    Wow!!
I'd desscrbe it as like a 914 CE on steroids maybe!
You get that projection and sustain and clarity associated with the top end Taylors BUT heres the thing, you get ACROSS the WHOILE spectrum, there is no pronounced middle bump , Bass, middle, trebles are all projected equally with the same incredible sustain and clarity
Its that dream combination of havimg the projection and suatain but ALSO a really even sound which of coure creates great clarity
I think the new 814 Builders with the Adi top is the closest you can get , a beautiful guitar in its own right but ata price point for crftsmanship and quaity Furch bliws Tuylor out the water
And I say that as Taylor fan, I also own a Taylor Custom shop 2017 GS NAMM Sinker Redwood top and Amazoninan Rosewood body , another beautiful guitar In its own right on on paper around $3000 more than my Custom Furch
Its a very different tone of course ,there is a clear midrmage scoop but it has that great Bass thump normally assocuated with a classic Martin D, and sparkly trebles It's also incredibly warm and rich , the overtones ., well, I can sit there and just pluck a string and litsen to the sustain and harmonics over and over
I'm not a collector, I play and I write , so I don't own 15 guitars with a difernet tone for each little occasion
I'm very particuilar about my choice and these 2 guitars where chosen deliberatley , with these tone wood and designs for that very reason to sound tonally different and cover the whole spectrum in the best way possible with only 2 guitars
But for price /value point you can.t beat Furch You get the same level of craftsmanship and quality as my Custom NAMM Taylor but at nearly half the price !

Very nice guitars and they really sound good. But it depends on the player as well, doesn't matter how good is a guitar if someone can't play it.

Hi Steve, I have a question for you OK? Out of the d45 with cedar top and walnut back and sides and a Spruce top rosewood back and sides , what's the best sounding out of the two you say ? Thanks !

    • @stinemusiclessons
      @stinemusiclessons  2 года назад +1

Thanks for watching, Yeremy! To answer your question, Steve always advises people to actually hold a guitar in your hands and play it before you buy, if possible. That's simply because different guitars have a different feel, sometimes even if they're the same model. Here's a video where Steve talks about finding the right guitar for you: ruclips.net/video/jSJ8IpvDS-c/видео.html
So, if possible, you should try both of those out at your local guitar shop, if possible. Or if they don't have those particular guitars in stock, ask to try some with spruce and cedar tops, to see which tone fits better with your playing style.
Generally speaking, spruce tops produce a brighter sound, and cedar tops produce a warmer sound. Either way you go, a Martin D45 is going to sound great, but they're not cheap. So, if possible, test both guitars out and see which one fits your playing style the best.
      Hope this helps! :-)

I'm disappointed with Furch, they become greedy. I wanted to buy Furch vintage 2 and it was $3000AU compare wit Martin D18 $3800AU and D28 $4100AU but now they increased to $3800 for vintage 2 and over $4000 for vintage 3. Furch is nice guitar but it is not Martin and need long way to go. Just greedy as they get good reviews.

Part of the higher pricing may have to do with exchange rate between euro and australian dollar.
Availibility and pricing of the woods and other material would also impact the pricing.
