The OM Vs The G body shape! The Furch Blue series are without question TONE MACHINES!!! I just think they are remarkable instruments and they have been my "babies" for at least 15 years now.
There is something truly unique about Furch guitars.

Wow, this is exactly what I was looking for! I went for a Furch OM in the store, I found a Grand Auditorium. And it had a little too much bass to me, but it sounded wonderfully. now I am absolutely sure that I want an OM even tough I play mostly strumming
GREAT PROJECTION. LOVE THOSE FRUCH GUITARS
My god that cutaway model sounds amazing. The overtones and harmonic resonation with that deep reassuring bass. I don't mean to sound like I'm exaggerating and I get it microphones and RUclips compression cannot represent the sound in the room, but if I try and imagine the pure sound, it has to be one of the best sounding acoustic guitars around.
I HAVE AN OLDER FURCH OM 31SR rosewood guitar. without doubt the best guitar I have ever owned, and I have been through Gibson and Taylor before ending here. I purchased it from Richard who was his usual enthusiast self but gave me the best advice. Would definitely buy it again if anything happened to it.
Just bought a Furch vintage 1 OM sitka top and east Indian rosewood back and sides and its tone is incredible!

I love sound of that G for your playing style. Personally I'd have the OM cos I play finger style it seems to have more clarity.
I was in Prague in 2017 an got to play all of their models ( it was prior to this color thing) at Huml music. The smallest bodies had the best tones to me. Bought an OM 23 CR which sounds as goor or better than my Martin/Taylors and is my best playing guitar.

Formally You could compare both models with or without cutaway. I hear people speculate about cutaway role in final sound etc....
Thanks for all Your Furch demonstrations. And please tell us how You made Furch to produce Blue OOM CM only for You, although there is no such option on Furch website... Do they make for You other wood options of Blue OOM, like SW and SA???

I played the GC CM against a taylor 214ce and the Furch completely destroyed the taylor. the Taylor didn’t have a single chance and was way more expensive.

hi Richard, Both guitars sound fantastic with pleasing tone but lookwise they don't look like all solid guitar , may be due to atypical Mahagony texture.
one of my first top end guitars was the Taylor XX-RS Grand Auditorium , still have it and love it ; since then i have bought almost exclusively the OM stnd , OO and OOO 12-fret bodies ;
but i personally prefer the OM over the Grand Auditorium due to it's slightly narrower lower bout and tonal balance❕✅ 🐊 🐸🍀
You should do a comparison against the OOM 12-fretter as well if you have one! Absolutely my favourite for fingerstyle, really warm and balanced and still insanely loud for the size. Great alternative to the OM if you’re not a big strummer.

The same model without the cutaway would sound stunning , and just vibrate and ring forever. Thats just me, never been a fan of acoustic cutaways. But furch really are a High end build

Satin, for gloss you need to go to the blue plus series, which is just a glossy top and adds maybe 50-100€

Richard, I live in Arizona, have been following your channel for a while now. I’ve been studying the Furch line recently. Not a common guitar in my area. I heard one live and was astounded by the quality of the yellow OM. I’ve decided to sell a Martin 000 and purchase a Furch. Is there any sound difference in the blue versus the Yellow line, or is it simply the appointments?

I have both of these guitars in the older 20 series range, before Furch strangely started using colours for their models. Both bought from Richard.
I play my OM much more for noodling, song writing and Friday night sing songs with my wife. I play a lot of finger style but also strum, and really like the OM shape. It also gets a nice bluesy sound as the smaller body lets the sound break up when pushed hard. You can hear this in the video.
The GA is my go to guitar if jamming with friends, bbq sing songs etc. It just has more volume. Both great guitars but if I had to choose one, it would be the OM. It fits like an old pair of slippers.
I also have a G23 cedar rosewood cut which is beautiful, so beautiful it’s a bit of a case queen, and an older Furch built Stanford OM spruce mahogany. Different sound to the CM, lovely in its own right.
There’s just something about the no frills little CM OM which makes it my favourite and go to guitar.
I wouldn’t part with any of them though, as you can tell I’m a Furch fan!

I love it! It looks good and sounds amazing! I just can't get over the long sustain and the harmonic sound just tickles my ears. And it motivates to try and learn new things.
This is my guitar for years to come.
I've tried other brands and I'll choose Furch over Martin and Guild and Taylor.

I bought the furch Gcm from you last year, I just never gelled with it, I found it too bright and tinny, I sold it and bought a martin which I found had the sound I wanted 👍

I play fingerstyle it’s the only style I can play, I have the yellow ga , which is rosewood/cedar , I am not a big guy and find it brilliant for fingerstyle, so the GA all rounder for me ,

OM all the way guys, people say its fingerstyle guitar ,that is rubbish. It does everything and some, comfortable to play to and set up is everything get your guitar set up to do what you want it to do. Richard keep doing what your doing love the videos and honesty

Well I do hope you will come and visit us! I am proud to be their biggest and longest serving dealer - possibly even in Europe but certainly in the UK. I dedicate all my time to instruments I love and we have up to 100 Furch guitars on order at any one time. Not alwas in stock because as you can imagine we generate a lot of interest but my customers tend to be fairly patient and most models are always "just around the corner" if not immediately available as they are always being made for us. Hope that helps and would love to help you should you ever want one.
The mic obviously doesn't do this justice but I have personal experience with several furchs of different sizes. I find their OM's to be pretty loud and a little bit more focused sounding than their GC's. But their GC's offer such a WALL of sound it's very, very addicting. I think if I had to pick just one furch, I'd go with a GC. Don't get me wrong, the OM's still offer some of that big sound with plenty bass
The OM wins it for me.....but only just.
What differences exist between a Furch Blue Plus and a Furch Blue?
The difference is the Plus has the high gloss finish on the top w a clear pickguard, satin back and sides. The standard Blue is all satin and has the tortoise guard.
Which one would you recommend Eastman AC-122 or Furch Blue G?

Thanks for the review. Unfortunately your audio appears to be heavily compressed, which makes it very hard to judge the actual tone of these guitars and how they compare to each other.

I would go for the OM every time - more balanced across the base, mids and trebles. But, then again, I am a fingerstyle player so the choice is the OM. The clarity and separation of the notes are evident, while the voicing is rich, with strong fundamentals, harmonic overtones, and the right balance of sustain and projection ringing through with ease. Lovely... Good comparison Richard! Now I just need to buy one :)

Hi Geoffrey, interesting question but a more complex answer, I’m afraid! In terms of ease of play you need to consider what feels best to you. For me, I like the grand concert size - so that would be a Taylor GC for example. But I also prefer the 12 fret model as it feels so much more intimate and more comfortable to play - for me! So, that’s your first decision... what feels most comfortable to play. The next decision is in the tonal quality based on the type of music you play on guitar... fingerstyle, that is. The rosewood will provide a lush, sweet and not overly bright sound. However, choice of top tonewood is more important as this provides the main character of the sound. The Spruce will provide a brighter sound, with nice clarity, separation and good overtones. The Cedar will provide a warmer, smoother sound with nicely balanced tones across the range... and will have good separation with more overtones thereby providing a really lush, warm and earthy sound. I play some Celtic tunes and a range of tunes like somewhere over the rainbow, she moves through the fair, silent night, make you feel my love and so on... so my Avalon Guitar, small bodied 12 fret cedar over Madagascar rosewood is ideal. One final thing - the guitar builder/luthier is so important as they deliver the sound you will desire. Cheers my friend. K.

okay thank you so much. I also like the big concert. at Furch's, the size that most closely resembles this is the large auditorium (G) on the other hand I find that the Orchestra (OM) model has a more balanced sound more precise. i'm quite tall (1.84cm) and i have pretty big hands, i don't know if it plays. maybe I would not be comfortable with an OM but normally it is still suitable for all sizes otherwise it would be unfair that some people cannot claim the model they want. I therefore think of taking an OM but with what you say about cedar and spruce I hesitate a lot. I like the harmonics, I like the warm and soft sound but at the same time the spruce is perhaps more adapted for the play with the fingers. hmmm, difficult .. i'm left handed so i can't really try out Furch guitars. I still hesitate between green and yellow.

The price difference is 328 $ ( 276 €) there is also for cedar, the fact that the wood is already open, the sound does not change or almost no longer. spruce, the sound will change over time, the sound will improve after 6 months / 1 year. I'm going to listen to RUclips videos again to hear: cedar / rosewood and spruce / rosewood. too bad I CAN'T FIND a tutorial where you can hear the SAME MUSIC playing but with different wood species (regardless of the brand and model of guitar as long as it is a medium range guitar) 😕
Thar OM looked so small, I had to check up the Furch website to see if it bore any resemblance to the size of a Martin. It did.

I agree, both sound fantastic. Personally i would go for the richer deeper bodied Grand Auditorium, but for one thing. I dont like cutaways!

Grand auditorium is a good all-around body shape especially if only have one acoustic. After that maybe an OM or Dreadnought for second guitar. I have both a GA (Taylor) and OM (Martin) and love playing both. Buy both Furch guitars if you can afford it!

@@tbeau6663 Me too and there's no difference i opted for the eastman. Ltd edition 1000ss. Small body guitar and its superb all guitars sound pretty decent played towards the nut. It's how they play and sound down the kneck and that's how you tell the difference between a good guitar and a great one
Compared the Furch Vintage 1 D-SR to a Martin D16 once at a local shop, and the Martin actually sounded *thin* and unbalanced in comparison.
Hi Richard. I compared these two guitars in your shop just after Christmas and it was the OM that I eventually chose. As you said, the OM is perfect for fingerstyle - very focused and with wonderful definition. It also has more bass than you might expect for the size. With the K&K pickup you fitted it is the perfect, compact, live guitar.

I'm disappointed with Furch, they become greedy. I wanted to buy Furch vintage 2 and it was $3000AU compare wit Martin D18 $3800AU and D28 $4100AU but now they increased to $3800 for vintage 2 and over $4000 for vintage 3. Furch is nice guitar but it is not Martin and need long way to go. Just greedy as they get good reviews.
Had a furch blue for a short time .craftsmanship very poor, Resale is very low on these guitars because nobody ever heard of the brand,good luck if you buy one
