Opeth are the one band who will NEVER EVER disappoint me. Hands down the best metal band in the world, and without a shadow of a doubt the most musical.
I wish people would stop saying that Akerfeldt 'doesn't care about his fans' - he most definitely does. He communicates through the web with his blogs - he is friendly, funny and articulate, and never tries to fob us off by making every album sound like a rehash. Kudos to Akerfeldt.

i was blown away from that performance!!! Mendez has cut his hair, the solo was frigen awesome from akesson!! and the drumming was very good as well. All in all, i think we can expect an opeth classic album coming up... its like they can do no wrong...and as a band just keep evolving and getting better..

Peter went Family > Touring 6 months of the year. So I totally respect his wishes. But I'm sure his shoes will never be filled. I will surely miss Martin's drumming though. That is something I will always be really bitter for. Not cause he left, but that his illnesses will not permit him to continue to make such wonderful contributions to Opeth.
And Mikael said this performance was a bit rough? It's fucking spot on! And to all those people who think Akesson's solo sucks, I'm giving you the finger. The man's pro, he hit that solo spot on, on first performance, every note's perfect compared to the studio version.

Damnation was awesome, a really relaxing album (and don't forget it was put out in contrast to Deliverance, which was heavier than anything they'd put out)
I wish the sound quality was better, as it sounds like a great song, I cannot wait to hear it at Defenders of the Earth nor to get the album later in the year

well as long as they don't do another music video (their biggest mistake ever), this album will b really good, and yes they are great musicians, shit Mendez is the reason i respect bassist so much now, and also my main inspiration to take up playing bass guitar, its pretty sad how theres so many people who can't respect them for their talent (at least in my city theirs alot of those people)
