  • If you have neck pain, upper back pain, shoulder pain, headaches, or you work at a computer, you can probably benefit from this simple exercise. Some of you may already be familiar with chin tucks, but I find that most of my clients have been taught to do them incorrectly, which can exacerbate the problem. I have a condition called cervical dystonia which actually wants to turn my head to the right. The sternomastoid muscles are very, very tight and my head wants to jut forward all the time. I tried your video above and it did help me to some degree to quiet the mastoids a bit so I could tuck my chin in. Thank you so much

It's hard to say without knowing your history and assessing posture, but if you're trying to alleviate neck pain or improve your alignment, then it wouldn't hurt to make this a daily practice.

Once a day should be good. But you'll need to make sure you change any habits that are perpetuating forward head posture, i.e. computer ergonomics, using phones and tablets, sleep position, exercise, reading, etc. Check out my playlist on posture and mobility for more information: ruclips.net/p/PLQsHGPF3r4b4l-Kmn77DTppYJkpHa18sO
