This tutorial will show you step by step how to set up your own RedM RP Server, FOR FREE, hosted on your PC. This server will allow you to start to learn coding, game development, YMAP building and more. Make sure to subscribe to be informed of our future videos and tutorials.

DRB Studios Project Server
Files needed for Initial RedM RP Server
1) Download the following things.
a. DRB Server Pack - github.com/AustinBMX/DRB-Stud...
b. Artifacts - runtime.fivem.net/artifacts/f...
Below Needed if NOT running 64bit Windows
c. MariaDB - mariadb.org/download/?t=maria...
d. Heidi SQL - www.heidisql.com/installers/H...
2) Have following Links Ready
a. TXAdmin - localhost:40120/auth
b. KeyMaster - keymaster.fivem.net
This repository is made to have a simple RedM RP server with the ability to create YMAPS and follow other basic scripting tutorials. All RP Framework is based on the RedemRP 2023 build.
Installation Steps
1) Create a new Folder on PC
2) Place this repository files in the folder.

3) Open the cfx-server-files folder
4) Drop in the cFx artifacts files found at this link runtime.fivem.net/artifacts/f...
5) Install MariaDB and Heidi
6) Run SQL File in Heidi
7) Start server by clicking the exe file at /cfx-server-files/FXServer.exe
8) Copy Down localhost IP
9) Run Through the TX Admin Set Up
10) Create a License Key using the server IP from above at
keymaster.fivem.net/
11) Add Key to last line in TxAdmin CFG Editor
12) Turn on OneSync for Mumbles Voice compatibility
13) Restart Server and connect via F8 in RedM - connect localhost

W A S D to fly around
R to Change Speed
/time - set the time of day
/weatherui - open Weather GUI for more advanced features
/viewimaps [distance] - see all IMAPs in a certian distance
/removeimaps [imap#] - remove IMAP from view
/stopviewimaps - stop shwoing IMAPS info
DEL key - opens Spooner to spawn objects and peds

April 21st, 2024 UPDATE - I followed these steps and created a server and was able to log in to the character creation screen. Video should be up to date and still provide accurate steps to get your first server running.
Any scripting resources that you can recommend?
i just followed this and it loads but then goes to a black screen starting scripts..
This, for the most part, works. The issue is that after you start character creation there are issues.
1. The female model is incomplete
2. There are no clothing options, you are just sent directly to the selected spawn area
3. The tailor and wardrobe system does not work either. Pressing (space) does not bring it up. Neither does loading the command manually.

Tried the guide, worked flawless! The only bump i stepped into was that i had to have steam running, otherwise redm would not let me connect with this error: "Unable to find requested identifier: 'steam', please relaunch RedM" Thanks for the guide :D
Hey great video! Quick question, how do you open the resources? i can only open the F8 console ingame and with that console i dont seem to be able to start any ressources to spawn in anything...
Really decent tutorial on how to get started. Iv been toying with the idea for months and stumbled across this video, not many others I could find. In roughly 20 minutes I was all set up and done 👍🏻 so thank you. The only issue I have is that it gets stuck on the “Starting Scripts” when I load in the server, is there something Iv missed or is this an issue? If so, is there anything I can do as the character is there in the background when I pause the game.
That is a strange one - the F8 says Starting Scripts?
Iv never pressed F8 while that screen is there? Should I have? Il have another look tomorrow. When I connect to my LAN, it will load the game/server but it just sits there with the loading screen saying “starting scripts”. When I pause, there’s already a character there that I can move around while still seeing the “starting scripts” load screen

@@drbstudios Thank you so much for the reply. Im guessing you mean RedEm? I have not found a way to give myself admin inside the system demonstrated here. For teleport and such. Do you use a different admin script?
How do you get past the Starting Scripts screen? I can go into /creator and make a character but then the starting screen comes back. If i /kys then i can see my character but upon respawning its back to the starting screen. Any way to fix?

I've now spent almost 18 hours in my server set up this way and I'm finding some thigs very frustrating. I'm a complete noob, but I would assume that features shown in the server should be functional? A lot of the commands do not work or tell me I don't have permission to use them. I've tried everything to be able to put clothing on my character - selling animals to the butcher (works, but gives you no money), going to talk to the different NPC that prompt you to talk to them (does not work), going to the locations that prompt you to start a job (does not work). The clothing in the store costs money, so I'd assume there should be a way to make money as well. The /setmoney command tells me I don't have the perms. The items commands do nothing. In general only very few commands work. But since they show up when typing /, I'm assuming those should be the commands added to the server? I'm a bit frustrated with not knowing which features are supposed to work or not. Can you clarify this?

I did all the steps but got an error when it came to the password, i cant find a way around it. When i type @password in Hidi it just says " Cant connect to server" any recommendations?

hey philippfallon, you can port forward your database port (e.g. 3306 in the tutorial). Create an inbound rules of TCP port 3306 inside "Advanced Security Windows Defender Firewall". Make sure you reboot your cpu after save the setting.

@@brenumbra took me 10 minutes to fix the issue. in the file charselect i disabled it and it closed the prompt for me
This video is missing some steps for current versions im guessing. Can even get into game.
Doesn't seem to work. It loads in and I can hear the audio, and if I press escape to the pause menu I can see my character while paused, but otherwise its just a screen that says "starting scripts", as a few others have said. Any fix?

@@mannygolift9238 The problem is on DRB's side - They have not updated the files you download, and we're stuck with broken files until they fix it. Unfortunately it seems like they don't care.
I got everything to work and it connected to the server, but I don't have an option to create a character now that I'm in there. I get a black screen that says "Starting scripts" and when I go to the escape menu > player there's no option to create a new character. What am I doing wrong?
The MariaDB application included in the zip is out of date compared to the one you manually get from the website. Still having the same issue with the "starting scripts" screen, but at least that program is up to date now?
The DRB Project link in bio currently doesn't work. Could that be updated? I found the RedM-Basic-Server in your github profile but not the DRB specific one

Set everything up as per the video, I go to join the server and it gives me the options of connecting to the story or to online. Yes I'm launching through the RedM launcher and connecting to localhost. I've tried putting steam in offline mode. I've tried launching the rockstar launcher alongside it. Nothing. I can't connect to it because it can't connect to rockstar's servers and yes I know it's not supposed to. I want to know why it's doing this at all. I've made a basic vanilla server before and I joined just fine.
Nevermind. Figured it out. It was RDO Lobby Manager causing the problem. Now I'm dealing with the issue of a broken female model. Currently trying to fix this as well...

I figured out it was just RDO Lobby manager. A mod? you can download that allows you to make a private server on official RDO. You just can't mod it any further cause rockstar. I had to make sure it was turned off or uninstalled or else RedM wouldn't work. As for the broken female model... I never got that to work unfortunately. I wish I had as it would've been fun to play as a female in modded Red Dead.@@electricaljorden

How would you let others connect to your server?
How would you prevent others from connecting to your server?
Only way people could connect to your server is if you open up some ports in your PC - not doing so should prevent them from connecting I believe.
@@drbstudios Since the server is LAN, does it work to use programs like RadminVPN or Hamachi to create a LAN server and join?
how do i fix my game just saying starting scripts? i is not doing anything right now. just saying starting scripts ive been wating for over an hour
Someone else mentioned this as well, I have not seen this, is this in your F8 menu?
@@drbstudios The F8 Menu works fine, this is a sort of loading screen that pops up saying that its loading scripts. (I'm having the same issue.) The world has loaded, the character can move, I can type in the command chat and the F8 menu just fine, no real errors I can see. It just seems to be that there's an overlay of an image thats persistent when it shouldnt be.

It shouldn't - i personally created this git download and use it to build quick test servers all the time
Hi every time I get everything set up and attempt to load into the server it says it's offline or unable to connect even though it is fully online
I fixed that but now I'm just stuck on a black screen that says starting scripts

@@electricaljorden I never resolved the issue. I tried it a few more times then had a friend of mine try it on a completely different computer and they had the exact same problem.

@@drbstudios I think that in the game the rings don't work where eating and drinking shows up, they never get full nor empty when alive.

same as @mistermunkie All installed and connected, really happy with that, however the character creation has no clothes, @drbstudios can you make a video showing how to add a basic set of clothes to your start caracter
