Set Up A FREE Red Dead RedM Server in Under 5min - Local Hosted - Private

This tutorial will show you step by step how to set up your own RedM Red Dead Server, FOR FREE, hosted on your PC. This server will allow you to start to learn coding, game development, YMAP building and more. Make sure to subscribe to be informed of our future videos and tutorials.

RedM-Basic-Server
Files needed for Initial RedM Vanilla Server
This repository is made to have a simple RedM server with the ability to create YMAPS and other basic scripting tutorials.
1) Create a Folder Called RedM
2) Place this repository in the folder.

3) Open the server-files folder
4) Drop in the cFx artifacts files found at this link runtime.fivem.net/artifacts/f...
5) Start server by clicking the exe file at /RedM/server-files/FXServer.exe
6) Copy Down localhost IP
7) Run Through the TX Admin Set Up
8) Create a License Key using the server IP from above at
keymaster.fivem.net/
9) Replace YOUR LICENCE ID with key on line 54 of server.cfg
10) Restart Server and connect via F8 in RedM - connect localhost

Commands Available In Game - - - - -
/noclip - toggle on and off noclip
W A S D to fly around
R to Change Speed
/time - set the time of day
/weatherui - open Weather GUI for more advanced features
DEL key - opens Spooner to spawn objects and peds

Anyone that is having issues it is not this process and I will try to look into the situations.

Does using Spooner to make Ymaps require the full game or does the online version work aswell?
So if I am not the server owner / host. But am mapping for the server. How do I share the mapping? Do I just send the file over to the host? Also do I load into my own personal server or on the main server itself?
Also I just went through the whole tutorial and when I attempt to connect to my localhost the server crashes with a Sync thread hitch warning. How do I fix that?
I dont know why, but the server doesnt work. it crashes the moment i try to connect to it.
@@redfarley7878 I haven't been able to get Red Dead Online work with RedM. I found 2 year old posts claiming that from certain RedM version onwards RDO should work but it doesn't seem to. All I get is screen telling me that it was unable to connect to Rockstar services and offers me to buy story version.
Can you please tell us how to connect? F8 does idk what, but connecting? It does not sadly. Am I doing something wrong here?

Can you make video how to add resources for your roleplay server, how to change chat or something with resources? It would help me a lot. I am learning to make a server for my community in Czechoslovakia.
I followed all the step but when I finally load the game up for the first time it just loads forever and never starts.
Two questions:
How can I open ports to let friends join in? Is it possible that they join in if we share the same router? Or can they connect to my laptop's hotspot or using a LAN cable? (Or whatever else that works in this regard)
Can I run this on a cracked version? (I do have an original copy of the game but I'm just afraid to screw my steam account up)

Sorry to say but I had for my online game mode a lobby created, and when exactly does F8 works? I tried but hurt my fingers from trying. No luck...

doesn't seem to be a vanilla server, at least i spawnied in with some character, which i seem unable to delete and start over... i honestly only care about gettting a private vanilla lobby that works, which the lobby manager mod does not provide (infinite matchmaking "waiting for players")
This Basic Server default configuration, its like playing in the current retail server, whit everything that u can actually do in retail server right now??????????????

@@creative_studio i believe, like someone else already said here, that this is not working anymore and on top of it, i got a trojan on my PC after doing this, so be careful, just delete everything you saw here and try to get rid of everything and delete that server thing and just all

Will this also allow friend's to join this server or is there any else that needs to do to make that happen?
This server is hosted on your Local computer - to be able to allow friends in you would need to pen ports 30120 to your PC, but be careful doing that as the internet is scary.
I'm having the same issue as some others here. When downloading the server files, I can download only 1 file called server.7z. The file can only be opened in NotePad, but freezes when I try to do so. I can't go to the next step in the process. :/
you need to extract the file using a program like 7zip

I have been trying to do this but can not get past the issue with rockstar services not connecting once i open my serve in RedM. Any tips or help??
make sure you can open RDR2 and possiply RDO through stream or where ever first - sometimes Rockstar has a hidden update that only loads from the base game
so im at the cfx part and mine is not an unzip file when i try to download latest. what do i do now?

when i made the server-file folder and downloaded the most recent one it only gave me 1 file i can open in notebook. not multiple files

whenever i try the " connect localhost " command it will bring me to the loading screen but wont actually load me into the server and ill be stuck on that screen. Is there anything i can do to fix it?

no to story - all base RDR2 content is not accessible in these mods - as far as friends - you could but you would need to open the server up through firewalls and then others could join to your IP

you can edit your cfg file right in txadmin as well - look for the SFG Editor on the Left Hand Side

@@AustinBMX I tried to use this method last night, and for some reason, before it was working all fine and dandy but today it kept saying that my game was out of date, even though I followed the tutorial to the T. I tried it 3 seperate times and kept getting some IFPS or something like that directory download that would never start.

Question, would you be willing to help set up a vorp server if I paid you,? well as long as ya don;t break the bank, my friends an I just want to have a server we can go have fun on in a relaxed RP style,
I am not familiar with the VORP system so im afraid it wouldn't go well. I know they use a somewhat different inv and database system then RedMRP
It tells me "This is not a valid IP address" when I trying to create a license key. I'm pretty sure I'm using the IP code in my FXServer.exe thing
Trying this in 2024 and when I run FXserver.exe I get error "Node.js is exiting (exit code 106). The console talks about not being able to create txData as "operation not permitted"

Can I host a server like this for me and a friend to play on?
To be avle to allow your firend to connect to you local hosted PC you would need to open some ports in your PC to allow then acces - its not recommended with out some stronf firewall and DDos protection

No, need to have a legit copy, RedM only works for legit copies.

Good morning Austin, I have a huge question for you in regards to setting up a dedicated server on TC Admin (host). I'm on fresh of the train on DRB. But the community I play with aren't comfortable/inexperienced in the roleplay so they are hesitant about joining. Many haven't even played RDD2. But recently started to play RDO with me but it's so toxic. We'd like to set a server up but coding for redm is extremely confusing vs the others coding we have had to do for other games. Everyone is at a loss right now. Could you assist us. One gaming community to another.
