Two lessons- either be a toy buyer or be in business. It's nuts to buy fancy performance vehicles to put in the hands of strangers who will be encouraged to beat on them by the nature of the model. The other lesson is, a used performance packaged vehicle has probably already been hammered and was traded because it had problems. Smart business people buy more middle of the road, less likely to be hotrodded cars to be rented.
It’s very true… I have a 8 cats fleet of under 8k economy cars… I’m doing about the same as him 1k/$1.2 a month on each car. Fiat 500’s, Kias, Chrysler 200… never had any issue with them because people who book those cars are looking to commute point A to point B without flex the cars.
@@jonathanpereirasp that’s what I’ve learned watching the guys that make real money. Their actual net profit is a lot more money months in a month out because they’re overhead is a lot cheaper. And nobody buys their stuff to party and hot rod, like all of these expensive vehicles.
Yes. But the Uploader is not just a Turo host like us. He's a car rental business owner as well. He has the proper protections, licenses and insurances that we don't. He can also collect insurance cards and deposits from guests off Turo.
Tony I'm a dealer owner. If you bought that vehicle before the recall was issued you can get your money back. It's illegal for a dealer to sell a vehicle to a consumer with an open recall.
That’s crazy, hope they fix it or get you compensated. One thing to do is put the vin number on Turo like your about to list and see if it’s okay then you can buy, if Turo says no then no buying .
Yes. You can also just put a similar cars vin in there too if it's not eligible. Although not a good because you will have no Turo liability insurance and no protection plan in place! But I've done this when I've had multiple cars down. I'd have a Crown Vic, but put the VIN of a Ford Fiesta and inform the guest. But I always listed a poorer car than the Crown Vic(such as the Fiesta), so the guest wouldn't be upset and give me a low rating. They actually gave me good ratings and noted the upgrade in the reviews! Crown Vics are cheap too and can be listed as a "classic" in Turo! But it's to find one that meets Turos and ABI/Lula's insurance mileage requirements! 😮
P3400 is one of the reasons why the hemi’s die & have this thing called the “hemi tick” . you probably already know this tony, but when you put those hemi’s on the highway and they don’t need to use all 8 cylinders, the engine will shut off half the cylinders (for fuel efficiency). now since it can’t do that anymore, it’s going to use 5 cylinders when it was to go into “eco” mode. now, i cann speak from experience because the last video i told you how my jeep grand cherokee srt died on me at 164k was because that same exact reason. that code popped up i drove like a thousand or so miles and it started misfiring. then i tried to fix the cylinder and it seized the whole engine on me because of the piston shavings that were in my engine. the thing i would do: take it to the dealership tell em what’s up. if you still want the vehicle they’re more and likely going to tell you to take it to a chrysler dealership for the recall. also see what that used car dealership can do about the cylinder deactivation issue. because you don’t want to send the car off in a rental and the damn car starts misfiring on a customer and now you’re out of engine. there IS a way to “delete” the cylinder deactivation so you don’t want to worry about the hemi tick-that’s a $3k job though and they need to delete the code out of the ecu so it doesn’t spring back up when they take out the cylinder deactivation. that’s just my advice. i miss my srt lol and she was super reliable and i didn’t have any major issues up until that point.
@@denisewilliams7454With recalls they're supposed to be free. You can sue(with a lemon 🍋 lawyer) or contact your states attorney general if they don't fix it or if they charge.
I bet real money the dealership cleared the code before you tested it. A portable scanner could have seen a permanent code still in the ECM but that’s a big “IF”. Unfortunately, the dealership may reply “Oh, you modified the car with the exhaust. We can’t take it back as that may have what caused the problem” even though that isn’t true. They may have sold it cheaper than normal to relieve their conscience. But I agree with others: This can be fixed and you got this!
Yea I check Turo as well prior to buying - I had one car I bought and it was already listed on Turo LOL - yea and for sure check pending codes on the OBD2 - I also think Car Fax shows the recalls too.
@@TonyLuxuryCars that being said, I have a 2024 BMW plug in hybrid and a recall just came on it 2 weeks ago. Smh it's actually a personal vehicle but I would rent it out on turo.
Any Chrysler dealership should fix the recall for free. But I’d be worried about that P3400 code. That could result in a serious engine problem if it’s not fixed.
I spent $55K for a new 2024 Mercedes Benz C300. Runs perfectly. Turo just pulled it after 2 months for a new recall. Mercedes Benz has no remedy for the fix yet. Very disappointed and frustrating

Thanks, that's good information. I didn't know that!
No it's the opposite. It's after a recall- he can, not before.
Dang OG, I list any potential cars on Turo first just to see if they’re recalls. Then I buy it.
Yeah that's is what I'll be doing too going forward!

On recalls you can go to a dodge or jeep dealership. Manufacturer of the vehicle usually handle recall for free.
Yeah I know, I already did that! Thanks!
Dats rite cause the dealership makes money off recalls believe it or not I'm a true witness I spent about 15,000 worth of work on mines

Put a speed governor & rev limiter

Rev limit: 3k
And don't tell em 😅

Yikes
did you scan the vehicle for hard codes
Great you have the channel so the dealerships treat you with more respect...not like us norms
Right! Exactly!
It seems funny that they'll sell you a car with the recall. Seems like they would have took care of it but previously.
Used Car Dealerships don't do that. All they do is the simple shit like wash the car or shine up detail the inside of the car.
That’s on the buyer, recalls are covered by the manufacturer so it’s not something that’s not sellable.
Damn
Luxury cars but no Maybachs, S Class, RR, 7 Series nun needa change that shit from luxury cars to mopars ain’t shit luxurious ab a cheap ass dodge 😂
