- We have lots of experience with bolt-on parts for the Fiesta ST after our COBB-Tuned long-termer, but this is a horse of a different turbo. This Fiesta ST has an upgraded turbocharger, and a massive list of aftermarket engine and power adding parts resulting in an almost unbelievable 300 horsepower at the wheels. It's an absolute riot to rip through a canyon.

For a long time my wife didn't really "get" cars. They were practical tools. A-to-B conveyances that served a necessary function. She knew how to drive a stick, but only because I insisted she learn; she'd never owned a manual.
Then she discovered rally and rallycross, and through the Head Hoonigan Himself, the Fiesta ST. Two months ago she bought one, Molten Orange and three pedals. A month in, she was asking me to teach her how to heel-toe. Now she's talking about solid motor mounts and suspension tweaks and dropping hints that she wants an Accessport v3 for Christmas, and she and one of her girlfriends (I've no idea whose idea it was) are talking about saving up and doing a weekend at Dirtfish next summer.
THAT is what this car does to people.

To people that don't know, the 2J racing intake sits in the cowl of the car which is why it is so loud inside the cabin. The intake is pretty much up against the glove box

Exactly, you have to actually modify the cabin air inlet area to make it fit, and I believe its labeled for off-road use only.
I entertained the idea of getting one, but people said it was obscenely loud...now there's a good video to back that up.

I drove my buddy's 300 whp WRX and it made the same noises. I can't even describe being in the drivers seat hearing that turbo flutter on acceleration. It's unreal. And I daily drive a 2004 Civic! Talk about a difference.

The 2jr racing intake for the FiST is on the other side of the cowl so it really is that ridiculous in the cabin

This is honestly one of the greatest builds I have ever seen. Has to be top 5. That thing just looks like the best daily driver. This Fiesta ST just looks like it would be the most fun thing to drive and just hammer on it all the time. :D Love how it sounds too, kinda cool & prettyy loudd.

TheSmokingTire definitely my Frs was a pain in the ass as a dally driver with the kids having 4doors helps a lot. Just needed a nice tune on e30 to wake it up a little.
I am yet another Fiesta ST owner who was influenced by Mr. Farah in more than one way upon viewing his reviews. I also bought a 2015 Stingray after watching that video. The ST is my daily driver and with a Cobb Stage 2 it's beyond fun to drive.

this is the first one take i've watched completely through. by far one of the best videos i think you've put out, and one of the neatest cars you've done.
I haven't seen/heard any car sounding more like a vacuum cleaner that this. one of my fav cars, it doesn't understeer instead it drifts, its small and you can enjoy it in the traffic.
I can only wonder how this car must feel like driving. The video, with no fault to you Matt, conveys no feeling of the acceleration it must have. That car must be an absolute monster!
The Fiesta lives up to it's name.... its literally a party on wheels. Even in stock trim.
Every auto journalist mentioned that stiff Focus RS ride back in Spain. They mentioned how harsh it was on silky smooth Spanish roads, in comfort mode. So you're right Matt, Ford made it way to harsh. And I guess that is why many sell it after a short while, as you did. It gets tiresome really fast.
I didn't sell mine, I kept it. But it is very stiff.
That exhaust on throttle let off and fly by, sounds freakin' perfect. Definitely doesn't sound as small displacement as it is.

I'm old school and the words "Fiesta" and "Canyon Run" don't even seem possible. But here we are in 2016. I could do w/o some of the noise, but kudos to the owner for configuring a car that's super fun for him (and Matt) to drive.

Man i hate the sound of that car. Not even the fast and furious movies went that far. Other than that: Ford really nailed the Fieste ST. I think i would prefer more torque over high hp, but i had issues trying to figure how well this one worked at low rpm, because of the noises that kept me from listening to the engine. I like that the non-engine related stuff was okay. good brakes and some suspension work. Kudos for that :)
Its functional, any functional noise to me deserves it's place on a car.
companies make turbo components that don't sound so ridiculous. This guy just seems to have bought the version that sounded ridiculous. It's his personal choice but I can't watch the vid because it's so annoying

they have their negatives and cons, but the good thing is most repairs are easy, easy to find, lots of working space in the bay, and parts for it don't cost an Arm and a leg for example say a sti.
Ford is doing the best of any companies in the Hot hatchback segment, The Fiesta and Focus rs look and perform really great.

+Bee Rice you have to admit some American cars right now are on par or even beating the import counterparts in their categories.
Value and reliability is on the upswing for Ford and same are falling for all imports right now.
Bee Rice the GTI is the highest rated hot hatch for a reason, but fiesta ST's are also incredible cars. if you haven't driven one try it one day and you'll understand the hype.
I'm 68 years old and have had a lot of tricked out sure Rocco's and capris and 9 Motorcycle, and by far my ST puts the biggest smile on my face every time I press that sport mode button, I go through tires like Bubblegum.
The sound the Fiesta st makes when the turbo is spooling up is so intoxicating!

I bought a Fiesta ST in cash solely down to matt's word and enthusiasm about the car, just recently got rid of it for an audi b7 rs4, and even driving that I'm still a little heartbroken from getting rid of the ST. Love your ST and your ST will love you back!

I'm in the market for a FoST or a FiST. This video just sold me on the FiST
I work at a Ford dealership. Our area Ford trainer is a race driver, he says at their performance school in Utah (all FiST, FoST FoRS and MustGT buyers get a free track day there), the FiST spanks the FoST on the tight track.
If you like driving, you simply can't flog one of these and get out without a huge grin on your face. And a stock base FiST will retain a HUGE percentage of it's value. Easily the cheapest cost-of-ownership per smile for any new car on the market. Not even close.
That said The FoST may be more real-world practical if you have a family tho.

I have the ST200. Also barely no torque steer.
The suspension is stiffer and slightly lower than a regular ST.
I had a 270fwhp Eclipse GST and thought that was too much to street. This things next level haha. Love it.
Hey, same turbo I have for the Miata! Great turbo. I know for OEM they use tiny little things, but for an aftermarket turbo setup the spool up on a motor about this size with the 2560R really is great.

At cruising speed it is, but can apply up to 50% power to the rear wheels. It's not AWD all of the time. Kinda interesting.

amievap78 lol these cars can hit like 375 whp on the stock internals. there are several people running the 360r kit from DHM making over 350whp as a daily driver with 20-30k miles no issues so far.
Seth Kesler bro 30000 miles is nothing for today's vehicles. that shouldn't even be a comment. if you know anything about motors of any kind, not only cars, you will know that something that is designed to operate reliably with an x amount of power, heat, fuel/air mixture ratios, compression ratios, etc... will not operate properly if you double the power output of the same motor. you don't have to be a car enthusiast, or a rocket scientist or any of that shit to figure this out. Also, the clutch, transmission, probably flywheel, etc will not hold up for long since guess what: THEY ARE ALSO DESIGNED FOR 197HP INSTEAD OF 375!!!!

amievap78 first of all, 30000 miles with no issues is an AMAZING track record for doubling the power on stock internals. Just so you know, that is also stock clutch and transmission. Not to be a dick, but if you think engines/clutches/gearboxes are designed only for the power on a factory tune you are an idiot. The redline and tune are WELL BELOW the actual limits of the stock parts, and not everything needs to be upgraded. All engines are different, but the fiesta ST comes stock with forged pistons and rods......
The owner didn't actually tune it... In the video if you watched it..?? He says the tuner is a wizard with these things so he knows what he is doing... These engines are already forged engines as Ford knows that people will be tuning them... Same as people get over 800hp out of the mk2 focus RS..
I think the maverick 2.0 awd shares the same powerplant & front end suspension as the fiesta.
Driving this every day would make me go insane. Heck 15 min with that vacuum cleaner sound would do the job. But i bet it is fast...

Ford did a wonderous job with this cae r. And thank god they did. The segment is kind of dry since Subaru moved away from the "hatchback" format. So really there's just the Focus, The Fiesta, and the Veloster.....

chbrules I only like the sound of a loud engine when it isn't Mine. As I have 2 issued with louder cars, 1. It makes me drink fuel, which is expensive in the uk, as a louder car encourages a more spirited drive. and 2. The noise just gets old fast when you just want to cruise down the road. Especially if your doing over a 100miles on a motorway . I think it's my age.
All meaty turbos sound like that. You normaly don't hear them as much because the engines are louder. The ecoboost engines are pretty quiet.
